...into the talks with two excellent leaders who were able to quickly make a decision and STOP! Also, during my first term, Serbia and Kosovo were going at it hot and heavy, as they have for many decades, and this long time conflict was ready to break out into WAR. I stopped it (Biden has hurt the longer term prospects with some very stupid decisions, but I will fix it, again!). Another case is Egypt and Ethiopia, and their fight over a massive dam that is having an effect on the magnificent Nile River. There is peace, at least for...

Ari Fleischer, former press secretary for President George W. Bush, on Sunday called conservative commentator Tucker Carlson a “phony” for accusing the Trump administration of being “complicit in the act of war” in supporting Israel in its conflict with Iran. “I’ve known Tucker for 25 years, when he co-hosted an MSNBC show with Paul Begala. Tucker doesn’t have a consistent thought in his head, except self-promotion,” Mr. Fleischer posted Sunday on X with past videos of Mr. Carlson calling for Iran’s destruction. “Now he says that’s a warmonger. He’s a modern carnival barker.” -snip- On Sunday, Mr. Fleischer’s post on...

Getting older might seem like a slow, gradual process – but that's not always the case, research suggests. In fact, if you wake up one morning, look in the mirror, and wonder if your aging somehow accelerated, you might not be imagining things. According to a recent study into the molecular changes associated with aging, humans experience two drastic lurches forward, one at the average age of 44, and the other at the average age of 60. "We're not just changing gradually over time; there are some really dramatic changes," geneticist Michael Snyder of Stanford University explained in August 2024...

Democrat Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass used Father’s Day not to honor the importance of fatherhood or the role of strong families, but to push a political message about illegal immigration. Instead of acknowledging the responsibility that comes with breaking U.S. law, Bass focused her message on sympathy for children whose fathers were deported for being in the country illegally. Her statement ignored the legal consequences of entering or remaining in the U.S. unlawfully and painted deportation as an unjust act rather than a necessary part of enforcing immigration law. “This morning, I’m thinking about the children in Los Angeles...

If you think Israel and Iran are "trading blows" you've misunderstood the situation in the Middle East.Israel and Iran are not “trading blows” as some have phrased it. Israel is dealing strategic devastation on Iran, eliminating much of the terrorist regime’s military top brass and key nuclear scientists , and attacking nuclear weapons sites, air defence systems, and offensive drone and missile capabilities.Meanwhile Iran is lashing out with drones and ballistic missiles, fired into Israel’s population centres, deliberately killing and wounding civilians in places like Tel Aviv, the most densely populated city in the country. Here, for the last two...

May the West be stirred out of its suicidal slumber and its loss of purpose. The post-World War II order was meant to be post war simpliciter — to complete the job not done in the Great War of having made a war to end wars. In place of an effectual the League of Nations, the United Nations (the name the Allies gave themselves as they fought Hitler) were to preside in a united way over the peace. It shouldn’t have happened. And it need not again if Israel succeeds and we ally ourselves with its aim.How Stalin, whose alliance with Hitler...

The power of principles and perseverance. The first Karate Kid movie was released in June 1984, and presently, the story lives on with the new release of Karate Kid: Legends. I recently re-watched The Karate Kid and The Karate Kid Part II with my own kids, and these films were just as good as I remembered. When I was growing up in the ’80s, these films instilled lessons that still resonate. So, in light of the Legends release, I thought it would be fun to pay homage to some classic takes from the originals and point out that Mister Miyagi’s lessons...

Alternative therapies for cancer care can have dire consequences, experts say.Ananda Lewis, former MTV VJ and TV host, died last week from breast cancer at age 52. After revealing in 2020 that she had been battling breast cancer for more than two years, Lewis announced she was foregoing conventional treatment in favor of holistic methods such as juicing, herbal remedies and detox regimens. Lewis' cancer had already reached an advanced stage by the time it was detected -- delayed in part by her long-standing fear of mammograms and concerns about radiation exposure. Like Lewis, some cancer patients are questioning traditional...

When my spouse and I purchased a fifteen-year old home in 2020, we had our work cut out for us. The place wasn’t quite a fixer-upper but that is where is was headed. The household neglect extended to the surrounding grounds. After much back and forth with a landscape architect, we settled on the design and plants. In the back and side yards we wanted bottlebrush, podacarpus, wildflowers, black-eyed susan, day lillies, scarlett hibiscus and indian hawthorne.Soil Analysis Before ordering the plants, I got up with our county extension agent to discuss a soil analysis. Why spend thousands of dollars...

One of the things Dan Bongino used to say on his show was that his principles remained steady, so he avoided the appearance of hypocrisy in the face of changing circumstances. (That’s not how he said it, but it’s the gist.) That’s not something you’ll ever hear a Democrat say, and nothing more clearly illustrates it than its latest bumper-sticker protest: “No Kings.”I never post on my Facebook page, but I still check it regularly because it is my personal window into the Democrat mind. Given that I grew up in San Francisco, went to a law school that saw...
