I have a questions for those more financially savvy than I. I live in a state that has deregulated electric energy markets, in an urban area with a lot of choices for providers. My current electric service contract is up in just over a month. Seeing that energy prices are beginning to come down, is it wise to lock in with a new provider now, or wait as long as possible, possibly risking a spike in July? Also, long or short contract? Fixed or variable? Thanks for any advice.

CV NEWS FEED // A day after CatholicVote reported that The Hill had published a column identifying a flag of the Sacred Heart of Jesus as “a symbol associated with the Christian right wing, specifically used to protest Pride,” the publication erased that claim from the column without noting the change. The practice of editing out controversial passages without acknowledging the correction in an editorial note is commonly known as “stealth-editing.”Nick Robertson originally wrote in his column: “The Sacred Heart of Jesus flag is a symbol associated with the Christian right wing, specifically used to protest Pride.”As of mid-afternoon the...

At Bitcoin 2025, economist and author Saifedean Ammous laid out a bold vision for the future of global finance, asserting that Bitcoin - not the U.S. dollar - will anchor tomorrow’s economy, with Tether as the bridge...Saifedean Ammous, CEO of Saifedean.com and author of The Bitcoin Standard, delivered a data-driven keynote at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference, warning of inevitable U.S. dollar decline and positioning Bitcoin as the only rational hedge.“Default, devaluation, or default by devaluation are inevitable,” Ammous declared, adding pointedly, “Tether can’t fix what a century of fiat democracy ruined.”Using projections and flow charts, Ammous argued that Tether’s Bitcoin...

Low incentives and complicated state regulations, combined with high housing and business costs, have rendered California unable to keep Hollywood from moving production to other states and countries, according to an entertainment industry report released on May 27 by the Milken Institute, a California-based think tank.Hollywood’s in-state production has dropped in the past two years as other states and international destinations continue to increase industry incentives, according to the report’s authors, Kevin Klowden, executive director for the Milken Institute Finance, and Madeleine Waddoups, a graduate teaching assistant in the Luskin School of Public Affairs at the University of California–Los Angeles.The...

@RandPaul I’m all for making Trump’s tax cuts permanent, but not if we keep spending like drunken sailors. The House GOP budget doesn’t go nearly far enough. We need real cuts, real reform, and real courage to fix this debt crisis.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has said that Russia has gathered 50,000 troops near Ukraine's northern Sumy region, but added that Kyiv had taken steps to prevent Moscow from conducting a large-scale offensive there. The build-up comes as Russia appears to be gearing up for a summer offensive in Ukraine while Kyiv waits for Moscow to present a memorandum laying out its conditions to proceed with ceasefire talks. Sumy lies across the border from Russia's Kursk region where Ukraine previously seized and held a pocket of land for months, before being almost fully pushed out last month, although it says it...

Two courts ruled against the tariff policy enacted by President Donald J. Trump. On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of International Trade ruled that Trump’s tariff policy was unlawful, blocking a central tenet of the president’s agenda on the economy and trade. The Liberation Day reciprocal tariffs led to scores of nations lining up to renegotiate their deals. We’ve already inked our new one with the United Kingdom. D.C. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras also ruled earlier today that the tariff policy was illegal, though he stayed his decision for 14 days to allow for the appeals process. Yet, before the...

Japan has announced plans to roll out a stricter online screening system for foreign visitors in an effort to eliminate illegal immigration entirely. The system, modeled after the US Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), will be operational by fiscal year 2028, according to Justice Minister Keisuke Suzuki. At a news conference last week, Suzuki said “strong measures” were necessary to address increasing concerns over poor behavior by some foreign visitors. The new electronic screening system will apply to citizens from 71 countries currently exempt from visa requirements for short-term visits. . . . The Asahi Shimbun reported that Japan’s...

Former CNN contributor Chris Cillizza’s Tesla was defaced with a sign reading “Musk is a Nazi” during his son’s soccer tournament, prompting him to reflect on the increasing politicization of everyday products and its impact on American society. The leftist used this experience as a springboard to discuss the growing trend of politicizing everyday products and how it is “making...

U.S. — Washington was abuzz with the news that Elon Musk had officially stepped down from his duties as head of the Department of Government Efficiency. Musk said he will now spend his time tackling the much easier job of sending human beings to Mars. Musk started DOGE with Vivek Ramaswamy and hit the ground running on President Donald Trump's first day back in office. While Ramaswamy quickly abandoned the venture after coming to the conclusion that running for governor of Ohio was easier than cutting wasteful spending in Washington, D.C., Musk stayed on for several more months before he...

On the battlefields of Ukraine, new sights emerge. Thread-like filaments of wire, extended across open fields. Netting rigged up between trees along key supply roads. Both are responses to a hard-to-detect weapon able to sneak into spaces previously thought safe, hi tech and low tech all at once. At a secret workshop in Ukraine’s north-east, where about 20 people assemble hundreds of FPV (first person view) drones, there is a new design. Under the frame of the familiar quadcopter is a cylinder, the size of a forearm. Coiled up inside is fibre optic cable, 10km (6 miles) or even 20km...

A Maryland teen busted for allegedly breaking into 121 cars in a single night was ordered released within hours — and irate local police say more than a dozen more cars were looted the next day. The suspect — a 16-year-old boy — was arrested late last week by the Laurel Police Department after dozens of auto break-in reports came pouring into their office on the morning of May 4. The crimes spanned Laurel, surrounding part of Prince George’s County and nearby Howard County, with surveillance footage from across the area capturing a gang of three teens roving around in...

There's a new Gaza aid organization, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), sponsored by Israel and the United States, that the UN and most international aid groups oppose. The UN says the group was engaged in “engineered scarcity” rather than feeding Gazans. In fact, the whole purpose of the GHF was to prevent the UN and other NGO aid groups from using Hamas-controlled conduits to deliver aid. Israel suspects that those conduits divert aid from civilians to feed Hamas terrorists. The UN rejects that claim and says the biggest problem with the Foundation is that they don't give aid to everyone who...

The Medical Council of Canada has claimed that American doctors are now fleeing in droves due to Trump administration policies. NPR wrote: The Medical Council of Canada said in an email statement that the number of American doctors creating accounts on physiciansapply.ca, which is “typically the first step” to being licensed in Canada, has increased more than 750% over the past seven months compared with the same time period last year — from 71 applicants to 615. Separately, medical licensing organizations in Canada’s most populous provinces reported a rise in Americans either applying for or receiving Canadian licenses, with at...

A Cholla High School student has reached out to the News 4 Tucson Investigators after alleging that a history teacher compared President Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler during a World War II lesson. The student recorded parts of the lecture, feeling the teacher's comments were inappropriate. "...your generation with the lowest information level is the biggest supporter of Donald Trump, he has that in common with Hitler too," said the teacher in the recording. The student who captured the recording expressed concern over the teacher's comments and says it's hardly the first time they have blended their personal opinions into...

Florida sheriffs don’t take kindly to being threatened, even if its from thousands of miles away. Matthew Moulton, 45, of Washington, learned that lesson last week when Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood met him at the airport and gave him a private ride right to the county jail. In March, a detective with the Volusia Sheriff’s Office discovered a rambling email sent by Moulton to Sheriff Chitwood, in which he details his grievances with the sheriff. According to the affidavit, he appears to take issue with a campaign Chitwood launched last year, where he posted the mugshots and ‘perp walks’ of...

Texas lawmakers voted to pass a bill that would remove short-barrel firearms from the state's list of banned weapons. If it becomes law, the legislation, SB 1596, would mark a shift in Texas firearms policy as debate about gun control and public safety continues. Wilted Ivy elucidated the high-level connections between academia and the Deep State. The Harvard Control Grid showed their framework of control. Now … lets see the Ivy Web. The End of Illusion Begins in Cambridge For over a century, Harvard University sat at the center of the Western world’s intellectual web - an elite fortress cloaked in prestige, draped in crimson, and entrusted with shaping presidents, policy, and public trust. But that trust was built on illusion. The recent cascade of revelations, liquidations, and criminal convictions has exposed something far darker: Harvard was never just a school. It was a...
