Universities and colleges across the country can thank Harvard for this latest development. If federal courts won't allow the Department of Homeland Security to deal directly with Harvard on compliance for the Student Education Visa Program (SEVP), the administration can simply make it more difficult for everyone instead. That seems to be the case today, although this may have accelerated a project that would have started soon anyway. After a federal court issued a stay that allows Harvard to continue enrolling foreign students, the Trump administration paused the entire program. Embassies and consulates have been ordered to stop conducting necessary...

Timothy Schultz, a 42-year-old Florida man, survived an apparent gator bite only to die Monday after attacking deputies with garden shears, authorities said. Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) Grady Judd alleged in a press conference that Schultz was high on meth during his swim in an alligator-infested lake and subsequent rampage with shears. While Schultz was swimming in the lake, one person tried to warn him about the gators and another threw a life vest at him, according to the sheriff. A gator then appeared to bite his right arm, Judd said. When Schultz emerged from the lake, he allegedly...

The British far-right activist Tommy Robinson—an alias for his real name, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon—thanked Elon Musk as he walked free from prison on parole after a judge granted him early release. He made a documentary film titled Silenced about the boy and the legal consequences Robinson faced for repeating his claims, which he shared on X, formerly Twitter, owned by the billionaire Musk.

Gender Affirming Surgeries and Complications While some trans and non-binary people transition their gender socially without changing their bodies, or with only hormone therapy, many choose to have surgery to help align their body with their sense of identity, and to decrease dysphoria. Some of these procedures are small, and fall into the category of minor plastic surgery, while others are more comparable to major invasive surgeries. It is important to remember that there is no one way to be trans or non-binary, and different patients will have had some, all, or none of these procedures. In addition, there is...

News From the Front: The ‘Migrant Hell’ in France May 27, 2025 2:00 pm By Hugh Fitzgerald6 Comments Muslims in France now constitute 10% of the population. They are in the country to live off the largesse the generous French welfare state provides: free or greatly subsidized housing, free medical care, free education including language lessons and vocational training, family allowances, and more. They are happy to pocket all this, and in no hurry to be employed. Instead, “pour finir le mois” — to “round out the month” — in case what they receive from the state is not enough,...

The WNBA says it cannot substantiate claims that racist fan behavior took place during a game in Indianapolis between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever earlier this month. The league said its investigation included gathering information from fans, team and arena staff, as well as an "audio and video review of the game." The league said, "we have not substantiated it." The WNBA, according to a person familiar with the investigation, was probing claims that racist comments were directed toward Chicago’s Angel Reese by fans during the loss to WNBA rookie of the year Caitlin Clark and the Fever. Reese,...

In a rare moment of honesty from the left, retiring Democrat Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado is sounding the alarm — not about Republicans, but about the crumbling state of his own party. Bennet, who is positioning himself for a gubernatorial run in Colorado in 2026, didn’t hold back. He expressed “fury” at his party’s inability to defeat Trump, even after years of media smears, endless investigations, and...

The Hamas-run Ministry of Interior in Gaza has urged civilians to reject incoming humanitarian aid deliveries from an organization backed by the US and Israel, calling the plan to distribute aid and circumvent Hamas “unacceptable” and threatening those who accept it. “The expected Israeli mechanism for distributing aid in Gaza is completely unacceptable, and we call on our people not to cooperate with it, as the occupation will use the aid distribution as a security and intelligence operation under the cover of the Israeli-funded ‘Gaza foundation,’ the ministry posted on X/Twitter on Monday.

The developments come after a whirlwind weekend of diplomacy from Trump where he told reporters on Saturday that he was 'absolutely' considering imposing new sanctions on Russia. The next day, Trump launched into a blistering attack on Putin where he said the Russian leader has gone 'absolutely crazy.' Trump condemned the Russians for escalating their strikes on Ukraine while negotiations were ongoing, which he said was resulting in the 'needless killing of a lot of people.' In a chilling warning about the future of the former Soviet nation if the bloodshed continues, Trump said Putin's war 'will lead to the...

"I’m so gratified that the U.S. Supreme Court has recognized, yet again, that second-guessing cops’ split-second decisions is unfair and needs to be viewed by considering the totality of the circumstances," said attorney Chris Madel. ... Seattle's police union has hit out at city officials after mass arrests took place in a park when counter-protesters gathered to demonstrate against a rally being held there. The Seattle Police Officers Guild said it welcomed a mayoral review of the Seattle Parks and Recreation Department's decision to allow the rally to be held in Cal Anderson Park on Saturday. "What we are struggling to understand is, why was this park chosen and authorized, especially when this park is commonly known as the heart of ANTIFA land," the police union said in a statement on Sunday. The park and surrounding...
