Despite its dark image, the dark web is not entirely criminal. Human rights organizations use the platform to circumvent government censorship and spread life-saving information. As social media networks continue to attract more users and as we get increasingly addicted to them, a new phenomenon is emerging: new underground movements that are changing cities and raising concerns. While most people are busy documenting every detail of their lives, some are heading in the opposite direction. In the streets of Tel Aviv, New York, and Berlin, secret communities have been sprouting in recent years – groups of activists and change-seekers who prefer...

A driver wrecked a 2023 Lamborghini by flipping the sports car on Highway 9 in the Santa Cruz area Sunday. The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 12:14 p.m. Occupants of the car suffered minor injuries in the crash. CHP was unable to provide KRON4 with additional information about the crash. However, CHP’s social media post suggests that speed may have been a factor. “CHP officers used a patrol vehicle to push the Lambo off the roadway, preventing further crashes,” the CHP’s Santa Cruz office shared on social media. “This crash was preventable. Please slow down! Highway 9...

The allegations against the Buffalo Public Schools had a certain degree of credibility from the moment the Unsubscribe Podcast video airing them went live on YouTube. That credibility came from Buffalo Police Department SVU Detective Richard Hy, who is known on social media as AngryCops. Having followed him for quite a while, I saw these allegations and took them seriously. Far too few did, though none in the podcast's or Hy's communities. I wrote about it. I talked to Hy about it. What I saw was someone who wanted to see change. Unfortunately, both the schools and the media seem...

[Catholic Caucus] Parolin, the great manipulator who wants to be PopeThe former Secretary of State is currently in the lead, personally hunting for the missing votes to secure the papacy. And there is a manipulative management of the Congregations that prevents discussion of the serious problems facing the Church, and thus prevents the weaknesses of Cardinal Parolin from coming to light, from the Becciu case to the failed agreement with China. And the presence of Cardinal Zen in Rome....- Silvestrini's heir and Bergoglio's continuator, by Luisella Scrosati It is like the Synod, they manipulate the General Congregations. The disappointment and...

US President Donald Trump said that the United States may one day decide to withdraw from the process of negotiations on the settlement of the Ukraine conflict. "Well, there will be time, when I will say: okay, keep going, keep being stupid, keep fighting ... There will be time when I may say that," Trump said in an interview for the NBC News broadcaster out on Sunday. The US leader noted that sometimes he is close to making such a decision, but then "positive things happen." On Friday, State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce said the US was not ready yet...

When U.S. President Donald Trump decided to seek a second term in the White House, Doris Davis and Susie Bartlett - an interracial lesbian couple living in New York City - made a life-changing decision. If he won, they would move abroad. The couple said they had been willing to give Trump a go during his first term, but they'd watched in alarm as he returned to office and ended a range of policies aimed at promoting racial equity and rights for LGBTQ+ people. "We love this country, but we don't love what it has become," Davis, a 69-year-old educational...

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death. Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States. Hollywood, and many other areas within the U.S.A., are being devastated. This is a concerted effort by other Nations and, therefore, a National Security threat. It is, in addition to everything else, messaging and propaganda! Therefore, I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into...

… By its peak in 1983, rock music dominated radio play and accounted for over 60% of the Billboard Top 100.… In many ways, the rise of pop, rap, and hip-hop can be seen as a market correction to mainstream rock's lack of cultural innovation, aesthetic appeal, and musical experimentation. In the years leading up to the stylistic shifts of the 1980s, there was a significant disconnect between critical acclaim and consumer music preferences. However, when rock began its descent from the mainstream in the mid-1980s, the association between critic and consumer music preference rebounded and stayed aligned for the...

A great piece in the WSJ by former Reagan speechwriter Kenneth Khachigian reminds us of what happened when Reagan was snookered into raising taxes 40 years ago.“In 1988 Reagan complained that the 1982 tax increase that he reluctantly embraced was among the worst decisions of his presidency.”“The fellas promised I would get $3 of spending cuts for every $1 of taxes I agreed to. Instead, for every dollar of new taxes we got $1.70 in new spending – the complete reversal of what I was promised.” We would add that on several occasions when taxes were proposed to Reagan during...

The big, beautiful tax bill winding its way through the House and Senate just got a lot better. The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio just posted the draft text of its portion of the bill yesterday and it’s a banger. They would amend the Congressional Review Act (which allows Congress to rescind costly regulatory agency regs) to correct its biggest design flaw. Even if the House and Senate vote to overturn a regulation, the president who issued the regulation can use his veto to save his own rules (except when the presidency has just changed...

Alcatraz, the once-infamous maximum-security prison located on a remote island in the San Francisco Bay, has been closed for over 60 years. Now, President Trump has announced plans to bring it back. Trump said the move would restore Alcatraz as a powerful symbol of law, order, and justice.

The U.S. GDP shrank slightly in the first quarter – something we never like to see. This data predates the last four weeks of the trade/tariff war trauma, so we are worried about the second quarter coming in negative – which would technically mean recession. If we could get the tax bill signed sealed and delivered, that would provide immediate juice for the economy. Instead, Congress dithers, and they will get blamed for the technical recession. But there was some good news in the report. Much of the “growth” under Biden was “fake growth” driven by trillions of extra government spending...

We have been strong supporters of this Congressional Review Act effort because the automobile market is clearly interstate commerce. And Biden let Calfiornia take the lead to eventually ban internal combustion vehicles nationally.Banning gas cars is wildly unpopular. This may explain why every House Republican and 35 House Democrats – the biggest bipartisan vote on a green issue in recent memory – voted to let Americans drive the car of their choice. These are the 35 Democrats who voted yes, including two from California and six from New York:Next up is the Senate. Maybe. The Senate Parliamentarian is reportedly taking the puzzling...

Katheryn Speck said she used to be a Canadian nationalist, travelled the world with a maple leaf on her backpack and once lived in Quebec so she could become fluently bilingual. But on Saturday she was among hundreds of people who rallied at the Alberta Legislature to support separation from Canada, with many in the crowd waving Alberta flags and a few even displaying the U.S. Stars and Stripes. "I thought it was a beautiful, fantastic country. But now I'm so disappointed. I'm literally crushed that we'll never be represented in this country and there's never a chance of changing...

[Catholic Caucus] St. Athanasius and the Upcoming Papal ConclaveFor centuries, the Catholic Church has asked St. Athanasius’ intercession for defense against heresies and errors that threaten to undermine the True Faith. In particular during this interregnum period of Holy Mother Church (before the upcoming papal conclave on May 7), faithful Catholics can rely on St. Athanasius’ powerful intercession to beg Almighty God for a truly Catholic pope who will reinforce Catholic orthodoxy as revealed by Jesus Christ Himself. On May 2, the Roman Catholic Church celebrated the feast of St. Athanasius the Great, a saint also known as the “Champion...
