Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) criticized President Trump’s decision to impose 25 percent tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods and a 10 percent tariff on Chinese exports. In an interview on MSNBC’s “Inside with Jen Psaki,” Klobuchar said Americans are likely to see prices continue to rise with Trump’s tariffs imposed on goods. “This is just the latest example, as you’ve detailed every day, chaos up, corruption up, and, sadly, prices of eggs up. And we’re going to see more of this if he follows through on this 25 percent tariff on Canada, Mexico, 10 percent on China,” Klobuchar told Psaki.

The blockbuster three-team trade early Sunday morning had major financial ramifications for Luka Doncic. He was in line to receive a super-max contract from the Mavericks next offseason but is no longer eligible after being traded to the Lakers. The super max would have allowed Doncic to sign a five-year, $345 million contract with the Mavericks this summer. Instead, the most the Lakers can offer him next offseason is a five-year, $229 million deal, according to ESPN, a whopping $116 million less than what he could’ve gotten from Dallas.

Researcher Alejandro Marangoni demonstrates the stretchy properties of his team’s plant-based cheese analog. Credit: Alejandro Marangoni Researching the interactions between plant-based proteins and fat matrices can enhance the texture and nutritional quality of vegan cheeses. Plant-based dairy products offer a popular alternative for those who avoid animal products, but manufacturers struggle to replicate the rich, creamy texture that makes traditional dairy so appealing. To address this challenge, scientists from the University of Guelph in Ontario and Canadian Light Source Inc. in Saskatchewan are developing plant-based cheese that closely mimics the taste and texture of real cheese while providing improved health...

Mark Cuban, once the unquestioned face of major Mavericks moves, did not have a hand in the team trading superstar Luka Doncic early Sunday morning. Cuban told WFAA in Dallas that he was not involved with the massive three-team trade that sent Doncic to the Lakers and Anthony Davis to the Mavericks. Although he remains a minority owner of the team, Cuban has stepped back from day-to-day basketball operations since the Adelson family acquired majority control in late 2023.

President Trump upended political norms and sparked widespread confusion with a series of executive orders challenging the Constitution and congressional control over the federal budget.Democrats responded in outrage, blasting the administration for sowing “chaos” and harming average Americans, and California and other states sued. Standing before a mourning nation following a tragic commercial airline crash that killed nearly 70 people in Washington, D.C., President Trump offered his somber condolences and said everyone was “searching for answers.”He then insinuated, without evidence, that diversity hiring practices at the Federal Aviation Administration — and the politics of his Democratic predecessors — were to...

Many of the 2.3 million people working for the federal government have until Feb. 6 to decide whether to take a “deferred resignation” offer announced by the Trump administration, which its FAQ page says includes full pay and benefits until the end of September.Since retiring from a career in professional poker, I’ve written books about how we can make better decisions, and I coach executives and others on the skill. I am not in the business of telling people what to decide, but in helping people with how to decide. That is what I did this week when two government...

After months of uncertainty, the White House has finally announced tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China. The uncertainty since the election and especially the lack of clear communication in the past several days have caused apprehension in the stock market, which is likely part of the reason why these measures were announced on a Saturday, when the markets are closed — always a sign of confidence that an economic policy decision is the right one. The stated purpose is to reduce the flow of illegal drugs and immigrants to the U.S. Trump has had success using blunt-force threats in the...

USAID funneled $53 million to EcoHealth Alliance, which then used U.S. taxpayer funds to support gain-of-function research on coronaviruses at the Wuhan lab—research that likely led to the creation of COVID-19. The CIA’s deception regarding COVID-19 origins becomes much clearer when considering USAID's long history of serving as a CIA front organization. With an annual budget exceeding $50 billion and activities in over 100 countries, USAID has repeatedly been linked to intelligence activities. Former USAID Director John Gilligan once admitted the agency was “infiltrated from top to bottom with CIA people,” explaining that “the idea was to plant operatives in...

DALLAS, TX — Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban woke up this morning incredibly hungover and hoping he didn't do anything dumb last night, like maybe trade away his franchise player for a pair of shoes. "Man, I hope I didn't do anything really stupid last night," said Cuban, downing ibuprofen. "Hm, wonder why I have so many missed calls from Luka? And what's the deal with all these calls from L.A.?" Though his memory was foggy from a heavy night of drinking, Cuban began to remember several concerning snapshots, such as coaches saying "That is the dumbest idea in history"...
