Holy cr*p. LAFD reportedly canceled their annual fire hydrant testing a few weeks ago citing “fiscal challenges.” But they have enough money for an LAFD DEI Bureau and DEI chief. Unbelievable. The Notice: TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF ANNUAL HYDRANT TESTING FOR FISCAL YEAR 2024/2025 Tuesday, December 24, 2024 - 08:30:00 In consideration of the Department's current operational and fiscal challenges, the annual hydrant testing scheduled for the beginning of this year will be temporarily suspended. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved the majority of California’s waiver requests for its controversial Commercial Harbor Craft (CHC) rule, marking a significant shift in maritime emissions regulations despite strong industry opposition. The January 6, 2025 decision authorizes California to enforce specific provisions of the 2022 CHC Amendments under the Clean Air Act, affecting a wide range of vessels including pilot boats, research vessels, workboats, and commercial fishing vessels. The rule, initially approved by CARB in March 2022, requires tugboats and commercial harbor craft to be equipped with EPA Tier 4 engines and Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs). However, the...

David Muir’s Firefighter Barbie outfit wasn’t the first or most obvious indication that the institution he represents is fake news There’s nothing surprising about the fact that ABC’s resident Captain Hammer wannabe uses clothespins to nip the waist of his perfectly clean firefighter jacket like a department store mannequin — or that he would take the time to do so while reporting on devastating fires in Los Angeles. What’s surprising is that anyone would expect any different from David Muir. If this is the first you’re hearing of clothespin-gate, just watch this: People do all kinds of things on television...

California residents have long been struggling with insurance companies that no longer want to protect their homes, and thousands of policies — including around 1,600 in the now-devastated Pacific Palisades neighborhood — were dropped in the months leading up to this week’s wildfires. Out of the approximately 8,900 occupied housing units in Los Angeles’s Pacific Palisades, nearly 80 percent are owner-occupied, according to 2022 U.S. Census data obtained by Point2Homes. State Farm dropped a staggering 1,600 home insurance policies in the neighborhood in July, equivalent to about 18 percent of the owner-occupied homes, California Department of Insurance (CDI) spokesman Michael...

The Supreme Court on Jan. 9 rejected President-elect Donald Trump’s request to halt proceedings in his New York business records case, removing a potential barrier to sentencing scheduled for Jan. 10. The brief order noted that Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh would have granted the application. The court offered several reasons it said it refused to grant the application. “First, the alleged evidentiary violations at President-elect Trump’s state-court trial can be addressed in the ordinary course on appeal. Second, the burden that sentencing will impose on the President-Elect’s responsibilities is relatively insubstantial in light of...

The United States Supreme Court has denied President-elect Trump's petition to block his Friday sentencing in New York v. Trump. Trump needed five votes in order to have his request granted. The note on the order suggests Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett voted with Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Katanji Brown Jackson. Trump's sentencing is now expected to move forward, with the president-elect expected to appear virtually for the proceeding, scheduled for 9:30 am Friday

Enough House Republicans are drawing red lines in pursuit of steeper state and local tax deductions and deep spending cuts to prevent President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda from being passed. Even as lawmakers work on a consensus approach to a budget reconciliation package that will be the chief legislative vehicle for the Trump agenda, some key factions say their support depends on satisfying their demands. Rep. Michael Lawler and his fellow New York Republicans are set to meet with Mr. Trump and make the case for lifting the cap on the state and local tax deduction from federal income taxes, also...

Willis to pay the conservative foundation's legal expenses. Last week, a Georgia court ordered Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to pay Judicial Watch nearly $22,000, finding that she ignored the organization's open records request and hid communications. In August 2023, Judicial Watch submitted an Open Records Act request for communications Willis' office had with the Department of Justice's special counsel Jack Smith's office and the House committee investigating the January 6, 2021, protest at the United States Capitol. "This response was perplexing and eventually suspicious to [Judicial Watch], given that Plaintiff subsequently uncovered through own effort at least one...

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has assured that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will have safe passage and will not face arrest if he attends the 80th-anniversary commemoration of the liberation of Auschwitz later this month, Bloomberg News reported on Thursday. The assurance follows a call by Polish President Andrzej Duda for the government to guarantee Netanyahu's security. In a letter obtained by Bloomberg News, Duda cited the "absolutely exceptional circumstances" surrounding the event. Netanyahu is currently under an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for alleged war crimes in Gaza. “Anyone who wishes to attend the Auschwitz...

California is drowning in an inferno of DEI mediocrity and failure—and on top of that, it’s literally burning to the ground. It’s a horrific, nightmarish state of affairs, with people and animals losing their lives and homes thanks to the gross negligence and DEI stupidity of so-called leaders and officials. Right now, California looks like all-out Armageddon, with water and firefighter shortages, mass looting, and, this just in: pyromaniacs are now jumping into the chaos. In Santa Monica, a group of arsonists was even caught on camera setting fires. Many people online suspect the recent Malibu fires may be the...

Ford, who died in 2006 but left a eulogy to be read for Carter, the New York Times reported.
