We’ve got a plan.” He did not say what it entails. Lawmakers have little time to avoid a shutdown: Government funding runs out when the clock strikes midnight late Friday. * * *

Students were given a chart showing examples of "dominant" identities—like being white—and "subordinate" identities—like being black—and separated them by "manifestations of social oppression," such as classism, racism, and heterosexism. Effectively, the chart shows that straight, white, Christian males are dominant over everyone else. Or, put another way, everyone else is subordinate to straight, white, Christian males, according to the chart.

The Canadian Armed Forces has been deploying “gender advisors” to international operations, including in Ukraine and Haiti, as part of a broader push to integrate gender ideology into military activities abroad. This initiative, highlighted in the Department of National Defence’s recently released 2024 Departmental Report, is drawing sharp criticism from veterans and observers who question its relevance during active conflicts and humanitarian crises. The latest departmental report emphasized the CAF’s commitment to gender-based analysis plus – a commitment introduced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion into policy-making across all government departments. According to the report,...

Changes can be identified with near-perfect precision by compact, portable scanners within a matter of hours. Different types of cancer have distinct molecular “fingerprints” that can be identified in the early stages of the disease with remarkable accuracy. Small, portable scanners can detect these fingerprints within just a few hours, according to a study published today in Molecular Cell. Researchers at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona made this breakthrough, paving the way for non-invasive diagnostic tests that could identify various types of cancer more quickly and at earlier stages than current methods allow. The study centers around...

The reelection of President Donald Trump could serve as a historic turning point for free speech in America. President Trump has said he will investigate censorship practices by the federal government, end the rampant disrespect for First Amendment rights on our college campuses, and take on Big Tech’s Orwellian policing of speech on the Internet. If successful, these efforts would make the First Amendment stronger than ever before. Yet President Trump’s opponents will not simply stand by and watch as he dismantles their carefully crafted censorship machine. Controlling who gets to speak and what can be said is essential to...

As the Trump administration evaluates the Department of Education and hopefully plans to shut the whole thing down, the current thought is to distribute those funds to other agencies or send certain elements of funding back to the states. Actually, there are large swaths of Department of Education functions and funding that need to be eliminated altogether. In other words, these programs should not be sent to states where they can become bloated little fiefdoms driven by the progressive agenda. So what should stay and what should go? Here is my “death wish” list for certain programs/policies at the Department...

The incident happened in the fall of 1989 near Bozeman, Montana. This correspondent interviewed Alan Yates this year. Alan says this, and a few other incidents involving bear charges are burned into his memory. Alan was kind enough to write about what happened. Alan’s account has been lightly edited for space and clarity. This is Alan’s story:I was hunting whitetail in the early morning. I had my sort-of-trusty 303 Enfield over my shoulder. As I slipped slowly and quietly along, with the wind in my favor, trying to make no noise in the dew-dampened tall grass, a sound caught my...

In the weeks before the 2016 Trump Electoral College victory, Donald Trump was polling between 35 and 40 percent. He would average only about 41% approval over his tumultuous four-year tenure. No one knows what lies ahead over the next four years. But for now, Trump already polls well over 50% approval. His inauguration in a few weeks will likely not resemble Trump's 2016 ceremony. In the 2016-7 transition, Democratic-affiliated interests ran commercials urging electors to become "faithless," and thus illegally to reject their states' popular votes and instead elect the loser, Hillary Clinton. Massive demonstrations met Trump on Inauguration...
