CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Carbondale City Council Member Clare Killman posted a video on Facebook calling for the state of Illinois to secede from the rest of the nation.
It’s a move that local experts say is next to impossible.
Kenneth Mulligan is a Political Science Professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale.
He says political moves like this are why President Elect-Donald Trump won the election in November.

A) Carbondale has an elected councilwoman THIS batshit crazy.
B) SIU has a poly-sci professor who is not!
How can a liberal town continue with a name that honors King Coal ?
With all the name changing lunacy the past ten years (Squaw, Black, Columbus, anybody remotely associated with slaves, Confederate generals, etc), you’d think they would hate anything named after that nasty carbon.
Back in the Middle Ages there were “free cities”, cities that were at least theoretically independent.🏰
Keep Illinois in the Union. But make Chicago a free city, to sink or swim on its own.
(Just kidding…maybe.)
I might point out BTW, that while Carbondale is a college town and liberal, IL below I-80, with the exception of Springfield and some other larger cities like East St. Louis is moderate to conservative. Certainly deep southern IL is quite conservative overall, and there has, ironically, been some talk of downstate IL seceding from IL to get away from the domination of Chicago.
“I’m not sure which is more stunning:
A) Carbondale has an elected councilwoman THIS batshit crazy”
Not surprising, she is a batshit crazy tranny therfore a “he”
Haha - someone who’s on Facebook (I’m not) should go to this woman’s page and plunk that idea in the comments. Just to watch the nuts go nuttier.

Article says Council woman is Carbondale`s first trans official .
so then...does “He said, She said” apply? gets confusing sometimes.
I should have made that word “woman”.
“Carbon-Creditsdale”?
Divide Illinois into two states—Chicago and area around it—and the rest of the state. As for breaking away, some southern states tried that a while back and it didn’t work out so well.
Didn’t Lincoln have his law practice and residence in Illinois? Pure irony. And if they secede successfully, will they be wanting “foreign aid” from Washington?
I could see everything 50 miles south of Chicago merging with Indiana or Missouri.
We can meet halfway. Illinois stays a state, but is cut off from all federal spending subsidies to the state/counties/etc.
That should make them happy, no?
Enough with moonbat crazy women!
Or men that want to act like women in this case.
I might point out BTW, that while Carbondale is a college town and liberal, IL

Wonder if it (or any college town) would be “liberal” if the voting age was returned to 21?
Ok, they can become part of Canada, then Canada can become the 50th state instead of 51st.
Same happened in Scotland just a few years ago. No talk of troops being sent there after a "yes" vote.
Seems to me that if such an official referendum was held in any state a "yes" vote would be respected by Washington.
