CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - Carbondale City Council Member Clare Killman posted a video on Facebook calling for the state of Illinois to secede from the rest of the nation. It’s a move that local experts say is next to impossible. Kenneth Mulligan is a Political Science Professor at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He says political moves like this are why President Elect-Donald Trump won the election in November.
