The Carbondale Police Department says around 11:38 p.m., officers were on patrol in the 700 block of North Robert A. Stalls Street when they determined gunshots were being fired. Dozens of homes have been evacuated and a 5-mile stretch of Colorado 82 in western Colorado has been closed due to heavy smoke from a brush fire.
