Robert Jenrick and Kemi Badenoch are the final two candidates to become Conservative leader after James Cleverly was eliminated in the last round of voting among Tory MPs in a stunning turnaround of fortune. Cleverly had topped the third round of voting, but came third in the one on Wednesday, losing two MPs’ votes to reach a total of 37. Badenoch came first, going from 30 votes on Tuesday to 42. Jenrick moved from 31 supporters to 41. The choice will now be made in a ballot of Conservative party members, with the result announced on 2 November. It means...

Wisconsin's Senate race between incumbent Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin and Republican businessman Eric Hovde was reclassified as a "toss-up" by a major election forecaster on Tuesday, less than a month to Election Day. Baldwin has been viewed as favored in the Badger State, which remains viewed as a toss-up in the presidential race between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. But the Cook Political Report reclassified it from "Lean Democrat" to a "toss-up" after their latest poll showed her lead shrink to only two points, within the margin of error. Baldwin and Hovde are facing off in...

One of the Trump campaign’s most effective ads features Kamala Harris giving her full-throated support for taxpayer-funded trans surgeries for prisoners and illegal aliens. Joe Scarborough lamented the effectiveness of the ad on a recent show. “I saw it this weekend while I was watching football games, commercial after commercial after commercial after commercial of Kamala Harris in 2019 saying that she supported federal funding for transition operations. She’s a radical, she’s a communist,” he said. “It’s not you or me in Florida or New York that they need to worry about,” Scarborough added, referring to John Heilemann and other...

Over 50,000 linemen — the “largest staging of utility workers and linemen in advance of the storm any time in American history” — will respond to Hurricane Milton, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Wednesday as the massive Category 4 storm barrels down on the Sunshine State. In a Wednesday morning update, DeSantis walked through some of the preparations the state has taken ahead of the storm, which is expected to make landfall late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning on the west coast of Florida, potentially south of Tampa, although wiggles and wobbles are certain. “Hurricane Milton is heading our...

With a second massive hurricane set to hit the United States in less than two weeks, the Federal Emergency Management Agency also has to contend with a deluge of rumors and conspiracy theories about its response and policies. Baseless stories have swirled on social media since Hurricane Helene made landfall in late September, many framing FEMA’s actions as an instrument of a tyrannical federal government. On X, formerly Twitter, the same rumors and narratives are following the agency as it prepares for Milton.

Singer Stevie Nicks has released her first solo single in four years, and it’s an ode to abortion. In an interview with PEOPLE, Nicks said she wrote “The Lighthouse” after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in the 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision. “I find it very sad, at 76 years old, I had to see Roe v. Wade taken away,” she said. “Two years ago, when I realized the consequences of women’s rights that are vanishing, I watched a lot of news, and I was like a sponge — it just went into me.” She...

Democrats should brace for a shock four weeks from now — the possibility not just of a victory for former President Donald Trump, but a win so big that Trump beats Vice President Kamala Harris in the popular vote. Trump doesn’t need to do that, of course: He can return to the White House just by winning enough battleground states. But if he does get more votes than Harris nationwide, it will prove he is more popular, and his message even more powerful, than when he overcame former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2016. Trump’s path to this next...

A district court judge in Kentucky has ruled that the “buffer zone” law outside an abortion facility in Louisville cannot be enforced, granting pro-life groups a court victory and the ability to continue counseling women. A permanent injunction was placed on the buffer zone ordinance on September 13, following a legal battle which lasted over three years. The court’s permanent injunction has effectively struck down Louisville’s unconstitutional buffer zone law, permitting sidewalk counselors to do what they do best — offer desperate women life-saving and empowering alternatives to abortion. “We are thrilled with this victory after a years-long battle that...

New satellite images appear to show thick plumes of black smoke towering over a large oil terminal off the coast of the occupied Crimean Peninsula after a Ukrainian strike on the facility. Ukraine said the country's missile forces launched the strike on the Feodosia terminal, the largest oil-processing facility on the peninsula. A fire broke out at the oil terminal in the early hours of October 7, following a Ukrainian strike, according to Kyiv's military. It's the latest drone strike by Ukraine targeting facilities to disrupt Russia's ability to wage war. Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty claimed to show satellite images...

Democratic strategist James Carville said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the Harris-Walz campaign should stop discussing the 2020 presidential election and the January 6 Capitol riot. Host Joe Scarborough said, “Tell me what you have leaned through all your years in politics starting with Bill Clinton, what’s still applies today in 2024, when you break politics down to its bare essence?” Carville said, “Be aggressive. Don’t take anything for granted. I think that’s a good lesson for Vice President Harris’ campaign. You come out and have a good debate don’t go back in.” He continued, “They need to sell...

In the efforts of the Progressive Left to destroy the legacy and monumental contributions of Thomas Jefferson, a centerpiece has been the focus on his presumed relationship with Sally Hemings, a slave at Monticello. The charge goes that Jefferson had a long-term relationship with Sally Hemings, and had six children with her. In spite of the fact that there is very little evidence to support this rather dubious hypothesis, the tours at Monticello and the University of Virginia state this as a fact. As it turns out, this is probably not at all true. One of the problems with the fact...

Bumble, a dating app with a long history of promoting abortion, is paying for a series of screenings to be shown throughout Texas of a pro-abortion propaganda film produced by Jennifer Lawrence, Hillary Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton. Earlier this month, “Zurawski vs. Texas” was announced, ostensibly telling the story of a ‘cruel‘ Texas pro-life law and three of the women who sued to overturn it. The entire film is based on a massive lie: that Texas’ pro-life law bans something other than the intentional killing of preborn children. The movie, and the headlines which inspired it, are based on sensationalism...

The South and East Coasts were well-ravaged thanks to Hurricane Helene over the last few weeks. Countless lives have been lost, property destroyed, homes swept away, and livelihoods all but decimated for a large portion of the public. Worse yet, there's another Hurricane brewing in the Gulf of Mexico as I type these words. The outpouring of help from both the local communities, as well as those in the nation at large has been awesome to see, though. Especially in a time when the media wants to cast a blanket around the populace saying we're at each other's throats. See,...

After a tough night of filming in Texas, Will Ferrell broke down in tears while filming alongside his friend Harper Steele for their new Netflix documentary, "Will & Harper." The documentary, which dropped Sept. 27 on Netflix, features longtime "Saturday Night Live" pals Ferrell and Steele as they travel across the country to reintroduce Steele to America after she came out as a trans woman. The pair visited Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo to compete in the restaurant's famed 72-ounce steak eating contest, for which the competitors were placed on a stage in front of a gathering audience. As...
