Closing out the Democratic National Convention, VP Kamala Harris officially accepted her party’s nomination for president and delivered an address that – while hitting all the high notes on lofty goals – would have been better suited to a political neophyte. The viewing audience was treated to a mix of two parts hagiography and three parts emotional outreach with a dash of questionable hyperbole thrown in for flavor. And yet, as her maiden speech atop the ticket, Harris delivered just what her fans in the crowd and the media wanted: An unburdening of association with the last three years. To borrow...

If there’s one thing Democrats hate hate hate, it’s those evil, greedy billionaires ruining the country for everybody else! Just witness socialist screecher Bernie Sanders railing against them at the DNC, with a heavy-breathing speech about how we need an economy that works for everyone, something that Donald Trump — himself an evil billionaire — can’t deliver. Except that, right after Bernie, hard-left Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker came out to brag about how rich he was — flashing his inherited wealth (about $3.5 billion worth, specifically) with a claim he’s richer than Trump. Huh? And it’s not like billionaires were...

The National Institutes of Health doesn't want you to use the words "animal," "testing" or "cruel" in comments on its social media pages. Too bad, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit told the agency.Animal experimentation is at the heart of First Amendment and Freedom of Information Act litigation against the feds, with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals recently defeating NIH in court and Judicial Watch suing the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for stonewalling its requests for communications about an alleged COVID-19 coverup.Neither agency responded to Just the News queries for their response...

Anumber of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. supporters recently said on social media they will vote for Donald Trump if the independent presidential candidate drops out of the 2024 election and endorses the Republican nominee as a new poll found that if Kennedy Jr. leaves the race more of his supporters would lean towards backing the former president than Vice President Kamala Harris. It follows unconfirmed reports that Kennedy Jr. will withdraw from the White House race and offer Trump his endorsement later today. Kennedy Jr. is due to deliver an "address to the nation" at 2 p.m. ET from Phoenix,...

The Ukrainian cross-border incursion into Russia’s Kursk region has yielded spectacular PR results for the Kiev regime, creating an image of success that was completely lacking in last year’s failed summer counteroffensive. But it is also true that, from a strictly military strategy standpoint, the adventure will not generate any game-changing momentum on the ground that would reverse Moscow’s upper hand in the ‘special military operation’. In fact, much to the contrary, diverting that much manpower and equipment to this operation has further weakened the already depleted Donetsk defenses to a point where Russian Federation forces can now see the...

A woman who inherited $250,000 from her late grandmother has revealed how she quit her job, blew through the money and now lives in a rental home. Sarah Faith Jacobson, a 40-year-old corporate consultant in Texas, said after she received the large amount of money she had no idea what to do with it, and 'regrets' how she spent it. Her grandparents were successful Bay Area real-estate investors in the 1970s, and after her grandmother died in 2020, Jacobson inherited $175,000 from her life insurance policy and another $75,000 from her will.

To comment on Kamala Harris's convention-closing speech, CNN This Morning stacked its panel today with three Democrats -- four, if you count host Kasie Hunt -- to lone Republican Scott Jennings. [snip] Former Obama official Elliot Williams took the praise of Harris to absurd heights, crowning Kamala a born-again Iron Lady. Referring to Harris's remarks on foreign policy, Williams said: "They had a woman standing on stage saying, this is a paraphrase, in the battle between U.S. and tyranny, I know where I stand and where the USA belongs. That is the rhetoric—that's Margaret Thatcher, dude."Elliot's Harris hyperbole was so...

Democrats proclaim that their convention’s theme is “joy,” but that feeling does not translate to Americans suffering from the Biden-Harris administration’s inflation. There is nothing joyful about paying 22 percent more for groceries since Vice President Kamala Harris took office. Data from the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics show that grocery prices jumped 22 percent from January 2021 — when President Joe Biden and Harris first took office — to July 2024. This holds true even though the Biden-Harris White House remains in complete denial, falsely claiming that grocery prices went down. While Americans do not need charts and data...

The path to the House majority runs mostly through blue states with Republican-held seats Democrats hope to flip back to their corner and a handful of races in swing states that could tack closely with the presidential contest this November. Republicans control the House with a razor-thin majority and are defending territory they won last cycle, while also looking at additional pick-up opportunities. Democrats need a net gain of four seats to take back the House and are targeting seats they lost in 2022, while also trying to protect their incumbents. Two-and-a-half months from Election Day, the battlefield is pretty...

If the Republican convention’s message for America last month had to fit on a bumper sticker, it would read: “TRUMP IS GOD.” Delegates deified him relentlessly as the risen Trump after the assassination attempt. They told me over and over that he was spared to save the country with his re-election. Only on the final night did Trump come crashing down to earth with his nomination speech. Divine it was not. What a mistake. The most divisive man in America was suddenly getting a measure of goodwill from skeptical voters after he was nearly killed. People were tuning in to see...

CNN — For the better part of the past year, as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. built and maintained a small but significant base of support for his quixotic White House bid, the two major parties wrestled with an increasingly pressing question: Whose presidential aspirations might be most damaged by an independent aligned with the conspiratorial right but bearing a famous Democratic name?

Former FBI Director James Comey is backing Vice President Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), in the 2024 presidential race, he said Friday morning. “Kamala Harris made me feel like it’s finally morning in America,” Comey wrote in a post on the social platform X. “Everyone who cares about the rule of law and America’s indispensable role in the world should vote for Harris and Walz. I will.” Comey endorsed Biden during the 2020 Democratic primary. However, Biden’s campaign pushed back against the endorsement. “Yes, customer service? I just received a package that I very much...

As we've seen over the past few weeks, our corporate journalisming overlords are more than happy to shill, carry water, and/or straight-up lie on behalf of Kamala Harris. Or if not on behalf of KamaLOLOLOLOLOLa, on behalf of the fact she's not Donald Trump. A lot of it has to do with journalismers being opps to the American people. But could some of it be because they know Kamala Harris keeps a list of reporters who aren't nice to her? I know we're not supposed to remember Kah-Muh-La existed prior to a few weeks ago, but we do. And here's...

A group called "Muslim Women for Harris-Walz" is disbanding after the Uncommitted National Movement said it was told a Palestinian American speaker couldn't address the Democratic National Convention.... "We cannot in good conscience, continue Muslim Women for Harris-Walz, in light of this new information from the Uncommitted movement, that VP Harris' team declined their request to have a Palestinian American speaker take the stage at the DNC," the group said in a statement posted on Instagram. The group said the family of an Israeli hostage "has shown more empathy towards Palestinian Americans and Palestinians, than our candidate or the DNC...

As Vice President Kamala Harris ramps up her campaign, she has targeted key traditionally Democratic constituencies such as Hispanics, black Americans, and women to bolster her cause, but with the economy top of mind for most voters, she will face a daunting task of convincing those who remember the Trump economy to put their trust in her on the issue.Trump and Harris put out their competing economic agendas in recent weeks with Trump particularly focusing on his past record in office. He has repeatedly highlighted economic statistics showing record unemployment among certain minority groups, as well as job and wage...

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell signaled Friday that interest rate cuts are coming soon. "The time has come for policy to adjust," Powell said in his speech during the Kansas City Fed's symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. "The direction of travel is clear, and the timing and pace of rate cuts will depend on incoming data, the evolving outlook, and the balance of risks." "Inflation is now much closer to our objective, with prices having risen 2.5% over the past 12 months," he said. "After a pause earlier this year, progress toward our 2% objective has resumed. My confidence has...

CHICAGO — In his history as a candidate for president, Donald Trump has never experienced anything like the past month. Vice President Kamala Harris, a Black and Indian American woman, has pushed the White alpha male to the sidelines of the national conversation, denying him the spotlight he craves and constantly demands.Democrats concluded their electrifying national convention here on Thursday night with Harris as the main event, delivering an address sculpted to keep her on the crest of a wave that has changed the contours of the presidential election. The Democrats are in the game, the former president is in a...

That fetid gust of hot air you may have detected wafting from Republican and conservative social media postings over the last day or two was a fabricated claim that Kamala Harris is plotting to tax everyone’s unrealized capital gains if she becomes president. That would be a departure from current law, which taxes capital gains only when the underlying assets are sold, or “realized.” That it’s a mythical allegation hasn’t stopped right-wingers and GOP functionaries from hand-wringing over the economic implications of any such change, and over the purportedly horrible impact on average Americans. Here, for instance, is the far-right...

Kamala Harris’s deputies awarded a speaking slot to advocates for rape survivors just after the slot given to five men who had been convicted in a brutal 1989 gang rape in New York’s Central Park. The enthusiastic audience showed no dismay at the contrast, in part, because the five men were released and exonerated after a jailhouse claim by another man who admitted to raping the same woman.

Rules proposed by the Biden-Harris administration in July intended to stop foreigners from purchasing land near U.S. military installations fail to cover a Chinese Communist Party-linked company building a facility 63 miles from a key National Guard base.... The apparent exception secured by Gotion followed a massive uptick in lobbying, with the Chinese-linked firm spending $2.7 million on lobbyists in the first half of 2024, including on operations aimed at influencing the White House and Treasury Department.... Michigan, led by Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, has set aside $175 million to subsidize Gotion’s facility, and the CCP-linked company was eligible to...
