Kamala Harris Puts ‘Central Park Five’ on Stage Alongside Advocates for Rape Victims

Kamala Harris’s deputies awarded a speaking slot to advocates for rape survivors just after the slot given to five men who had been convicted in a brutal 1989 gang rape in New York’s Central Park.

The enthusiastic audience showed no dismay at the contrast, in part, because the five men were released and exonerated after a jailhouse claim by another man who admitted to raping the same woman.

This happened a year after I left Manhattan for Brickell ave in Miami next to the “hole in the middle” condos Wilding had become common in Manhattan and my wife and I had experienced it late night on 5th ave in the 40s

We saw a gang of 20-30 black youth roaming hard coming down from the park direction harassing folks and jostling and setting off alarms

My wife then was brasilian and obviously Latino and very showing pregnant in her jumper at 30 weeks and they shoved me and hurled racial comments as I shielded her (she of course letting them have it verbally in Portuguese which they were baffled by most of lol)

They took a few cheap shots and moved on

Mostly Puerto Ricans and blacks

A few minutes later we saw a stream of cop cars moving down fifth ave south in their direction

We lived at Madison square which was why we were out walking in midtown then after visiting Israeli friends who lived in a working loft in midtown

This case is simply a Bonfire of the Vanities scenario on acid

They were so guilty but race politics prevailed over justice

while the CP5 were ‘exhonerated’ of the Meili rape (in spite of Meili’s recall there was more than one rapist), they did confess to the mugging and beating of David Lewis and John Loughlin and “ According to a later statement by District Attorney Nancy Ryan, “[a]ll five implicated themselves in a number of the crimes which had occurred in the park.”[11]: ¶ 10 While the accounts offered of the crimes beside the rape were accurate, their accounts of the rape contained discrepancies as to “when, where and how it happened.”[32][11]”

so, they’re no angels even if exhonerated, and to blame Trump for their incarceration is just gaslighting
