"Tim Walz is an authoritarian socialist and only wants to listen to people that share his worldview," said Nate O'Reilly, a 30-year veteran of the construction industry. Share This Story “He’s being portrayed as this blue-collar, likable, rural guy, and he’s the furthest thing from it,” said Nate O’Reilly, a 30-year veteran of the construction industry and former president of the Southeastern Minnesota Building & Construction Trades Council. The Zumbrota resident once considered himself a staunch DFL supporter who strongly backed Gov. Tim Walz. “I didn’t just vote for him, I campaigned for him,” said O’Reilly. But that all changed...

MOSCOW – Ukraine attacked Moscow on Wednesday with at least 11 drones shot down by air defenses in what Russian officials said was one of the biggest drone strikes on the capital since the war in Ukraine began in February 2022. The war, largely a grinding artillery and drone battle across the fields, forests and villages of eastern Ukraine, escalated on Aug. 6 when Ukraine sent thousands of soldiers into Russia’s western Kursk region. For months, Ukraine has also fought an increasingly damaging drone war against the refineries and airfields of the world’s second-largest oil exporter, though major drone attacks...

Conservatives were making hay about Kamala Harris’ latest “word salad” at a campaign event in Pennsylvania, where, in an attempt to sound intelligent, she went on about the “duality of democracy.” “They took Kamala off the teleprompter today in Pennsylvania,” Outkick.com founder Clay Travis posted on X. “It didn’t go well.” But conservatives have it wrong. It’s actually much worse than that. Harris has been uttering this particular word salad for years – robotically, using almost the exact same phraseology, and at almost any public event where she was allowed to speak, whether or not it was relevant. Here’s what...

Kamala Harris was appointed BORDER CZAR by President Joe Biden. Her task was to fix the broken immigration system Joe Biden's policies created. She FAILED!! My lyrics below sum it up: Border Czar (parody of Madonna's "Borderline") Something’s really wrong with our southern Border security. We got strangers from all over the world coming in illegally Stop playing with the law Finish up the wall When you gonna come on down? If you really give a damn Do the best you can Madam, don’t you fool around Just try to understand This is our sacred land This is your responsibility...

Chicago’s run of peaceful rallies outside the Democratic National Convention came to an end Tuesday night when a group of protesters marched into a line of police, setting off a violent scrum on Madison Street outside one of the city’s major commuter rail stations. The protesters walked directly into a large group of police officials, four officers deep, around 7:30 p.m. The officers began to push them the other way and yelled, “Move back, move back.” Scuffles began to break out, and officers wearing helmets moved into the crowd. Video showed officers overwhelming some of the protesters, pushing them to...

Nordstrom is closing two corporate offices and asking some employees to relocate to its Seattle headquarters, GeekWire has learned. Nordstrom confirmed that it will let leases expire at its offices in Los Angeles and Chicago, citing low usage of the spaces as a primary reason for the decision. Most employees based in those cities will transition to full-time remote roles while others will be required to relocate to Seattle, the company said. It will use store locations in Los Angeles and Chicago for smaller team gatherings.

The Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday requested the U.S. Supreme Court “deny” Republicans’ bid to enforce an Arizona law requiring individuals to prove they’re U.S. citizens when registering and voting in elections. Arguing on behalf of the administration, U.S. Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar requested that the nation’s highest court instead allow a lower court decision — one prohibiting the implementation of provisions of the statute in question — to remain in effect for the November election. As The Federalist previously reported, the 2022 law mandated residents to show documentary proof of citizenship (DPOC) when registering via state voter...

Ah, olive oil. The golden elixir that has graced everything from the most luxurious Mediterranean feasts to the humble kitchen counters of suburban America. It’s been hailed as the heart-healthy darling of the culinary world, the so-called “nectar of the gods,” worshipped almost as fervently as the wine it accompanies. But is this liquid gold as divine as we’ve been led to believe, or is there something more nefarious lurking beneath its glossy surface? Let’s start with the basics. Olive oil is one of those pantry staples that’s been given an almost holy status. We’re told it can do no...

Progressive leaders must convert the once-coherent United States into an unprecedentedly diverse society, Barack Obama told the Democratic Party’s national convention Tuesday night. “No nation, no society has ever tried to build a democracy as big and as diverse as ours before, one that includes people that, over decades, have come from every corner of the globe,” he said.

Last month, while looking for lilies in a Colombian tributary of the piranha-packed Orinoco River, he jumped from plank to plank in the pitch dark at 4 a.m. to get to a floating pontoon. “It’s not that I am that daring,” said Carlos Magdalena, a research horticulturalist at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, in London. “These situations just arise, and they are not like Superman extreme. Sometimes it’s more Peter Sellers than Indiana Jones.” ..he is also known as “the plant messiah,” as anointed by a Spanish newspaper in 2010, for his work rescuing several plant species from the...

Not only do Democrats fashion themselves the protectors of “democracy,” they claim to be champions of decency. Well, if the second day of the Democratic National Convention is any indication, the left doesn’t have any claim on the high moral ground. For one thing, no one at the DNC seemed even mildly constrained by the truth. More than once, for instance, Democrats falsely claimed that Trump had referred to the Tiki Torch Nazis of Charlottesville as “very fine people.” Democrats also falsely accused the former president of instructing Americans to “inject bleach” during the COVID pandemic. Chuck Schumer, who’s painstakingly...
