In reaction to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, leading left-wing political figures in Europe pointed the finger at gun rights in America, with the former head of the UK Labour Party in the European Parliament saying that Republicans “reap what they sow” for defending the Second Amendment. The failed assassination attempt on former president and current frontrunner in the 2024 election Donald Trump at a campaign rally, which claimed the life of an audience member and left two others critically wounded, is already being used for political points scoring to forward the anti-gun agenda of the left in Europe....

Daily Readings from the USCCB“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37–38At first read, this appears to be a difficult teaching of our Lord. But when properly understood, it is clear that it helps us keep our relationships with God and with our family properly ordered in charity and truth. Following this command will never result in a lack of love for...

Before the attempt on Donald Trump’s life, while questions raged about the health of President Joe Biden, officials downplayed the importance of the physical leader. White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters to look at the administration, not the man. “What we are saying,” she said, “is there are results, his record.” As my podcast partner Walter Kirn wrote, we were “being introduced to the idea that the presidency is a diffuse impersonal ‘office,’ and the bucks stops nowhere that is… conventionally identifiable.” But we live in a physical world, and individuals still matter. Official actions betray this more than...

A Catholic priest who gave the benediction at former President Donald Trump’s rally on Saturday reportedly prayed for his safety–and urged Americans at the rally to do so too–just moments before the attempted assassination. Father Jason Charron, a Ukranian Catholic pastor, had given a benediction prior to the former president’s rally on Saturday. As he was trying to leave, a group of 15 to 20 people reportedly called him over to a barricade within the rally asking that he pray. “I said to them: I prayed for him and his safety, but that they have to pray, as well, because...

Kung Fu Panda star Jack Black’s band Tenacious D mocked Donald Trump just one day after the former president was struck by but survived an assassin’s bullet, with a band member shouting “don’t miss Trump next time” during a performance on Sunday. Tenacious D was performing in Sydney, Australia, when the tasteless comment was made from the stage, according to video from Sunday’s concert. It remains unclear which band member made the remark, though some reports identified the speaker as bandmember Kyle Gass. Expressing a wish for the death of a U.S. president is a federal crime.

right. Which is why I shouldn’t be in the Secret Service any more than they should. Kimberly Cheatle, head of the Secret Service, got the publicity she wanted for hiring a bunch of women. Now she’s got a bunch of questions to answer. How did this happen? How did a guy with a rifle access a rooftop that close to his target? Why didn’t agents listen to the attendees who spotted him first? Why was one female agent heard screaming, “What are we doing? Where are we going?” Why haven’t you cleaned out your desk yet? That last question is...

Jack Black's "Tenacious D" bandmate Kyle Gass made a "joke" about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump at a concert in Sydney on Sunday. Yahoo News reports: "Black is seen presenting his Tenacious D band member Kyle Gass with a birthday cake during their performance at the ICC Sydney Theatre... 'Make a wish,' he urges, with Gass then seen blowing out the candles and says in a hushed tone, 'Don’t miss Trump next time' -- causing the crowd to erupt. While some are heard laughing and clapping, others are less impressed." Jack Black appeared at a Hollywood fundraiser for President...

A friend who supports Biden and hates Trump complained to me this morning that I am being narcissistic by sharing my views publicly on the presidential election, and that I should keep my views to myself.I explained to my friend that part of being a good citizen is participating in the political process. If one believes that one candidate is materially better for the country than another, one should advocate in any way that they can for that candidate. This is not narcissism. It is patriotism. All of us have an obligation to stand up and be counted.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon has dismissed the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump in an order Monday morning over the manner in which special counsel Jack Smith was appointed. “The Superseding Indictment is DISMISSED because Special Counsel Smith’s appointment violates the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution,” wrote Judge Cannon, who was appointed to the bench by the former president.

RealClearPolitics White House and National Political Correspondent Susan Crabtree dropped an important report on the failure of the Secret Service to protect President Donald J. Trump and those around him during last week’s Pennsylvania rally. According to Crabtree, the potential lack of drones and the “DEI” protocols at the Secret Service contributed to the failure, but the biggest reason Trump’s life was put in danger is because rules of engagement prohibit snipers from engaging until the assassin shoots first.

Diane Cox, A Democrat Party of New Mexico official from Albuquerque who sits on the Party’s State Central Committee, posted an article from The Atlantic titled “Trump is planning for a landslide win” on her Facebook post after 45th President Donald Trump narrowly missed a fatal head wound at a rally in Pennsylvania, where an assassin attempted to murder him. The assassin ended up killing at least one rally attendee and leaving others injured, including Trump, who was pierced in his right ear by a bullet. One of Cox’s connections, Angela Agosta, wrote, “And now he will be America’s hero...

The Evanston, Illinois, city council on Monday expanded eligibility of its guaranteed basic income program that it previously touted as a model that other municipalities should follow. Evanston's city council voted 5-4 to increase the age restriction for children in the program. Per The Chicago Tribune, the vote stemmed from prior concern that the program was not reaching enough residents within Evanston’s tract 8092. (According to the federal government, "census tracts are small, relatively permanent statistical subdivisions of a county.") The program did not have as many applicants as expected, with only 60 households participating with 90 spots left. Before...

If looks are the key to Donald Trump's vice presidential pick then there is only one winner. J.D. Vance's blue eyes and thick beard first caught the attention of the former president two years ago, when the author and former Marine was competing for the Republican nomination in Ohio's Senate race. 'He's one handsome son of a bitch,' Trump told his inner circle. Since then Vance has emerged as one of his most formidable promoters on cable news channels. And a strict running regimen instituted during his run for Senate has seen the possible veep lose weight recently, a fact...

U.S. — CNN announced today that in a shocking incident, former President Trump clumsily hit his head on a bullet, causing an unfortunate disturbance at a Pennsylvania rally. "What a klutz, that Trump! Probably worse then Biden," said Anderson Cooper. "Look at all that blood from smacking his face on a bullet. Boy, I bet he feels sheepish." CNN reported Trump smacked his ear on the harmless bullet at incredible velocity, causing a loud sound like a gunshot. "The helpless little bullet never saw it coming," announced Cooper. "Trump then fell over, forcing several Secret Service agents to dive...

Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump on Saturday, appeared in a corporate advertisement for BlackRock, according to Reuters. The asset manager ran an advertisement in 2022 that featured a teacher from Bethel Park High School as well as several unpaid students. One of these students was Crooks, BlackRock told Reuters in an emailed statement Sunday. “In 2022, we ran an ad featuring a teacher from Bethel Park High School, in which several unpaid students briefly appeared in the background, including Thomas Matthew Crooks,” the company said. BlackRock went on to condemn the assassination...
