Russian President Vladimir Putin says he was surprised by a lack of sharp questions from U.S. television host Tucker Carlson in an interview that made headlines around the world last week. Putin told a Russian TV interviewer, Pavel Zarubin, that he had wanted Carlson to behave more aggressively, which would have given him the right to reply just as pointedly. "To be honest, I thought that he would behave aggressively and ask so-called sharp questions. I was not just prepared for this, I wanted it, because it would give me the opportunity to respond in the same way," Putin said...

President Joe Biden is shielding Palestinians in the United States from deportation while authorizing the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to loosen work requirements to funnel them into American jobs. On Wednesday, Biden issued a memorandum to DHS and the State Department, providing most Palestinians in the U.S. with “Deferred Enforced Departure” for at least 18 months amid war in Israel with Hamas terrorists.

Last year, the Rhode Island General Assembly approved a measure posthumously pardoning John Gordon — who on February 14, 1845 was the last man executed in that state. Gordon’s hanging, for the murder of a prominent industrialist who had bad blood with Gordon’s brother, was long notorious in Rhode Island as one secured on highly uncertain evidence in an atmosphere of anti-Irish prejudice. Executed Today is pleased to welcome on this occasion University of Rhode Island labor historian Scott Molloy, author of Irish Titan, Irish Toilers and a major advocate of the Gordon pardon. ET: Can you set the scene...

MOSCOW(Sputnik) - US sanctions against American journalist Tucker Carlson after his visit to Russia would show the true face of the modern liberal and democratic dictatorship in the United States, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. “But from the point of view of making people all over the world understand what a modern liberal-democratic, in quotes, dictatorship, which is allegedly represented in today’s ruling class of the United States, is, this would be nice. Thus, they would show their true face,” Putin told Rossiya 1 reporter Pavel Zarubin when asked about possible US sanctions against Carlson. He said everything is possible...

Last week the RAIR Foundation published an article by Amy Mek, which opened with this: In a chilling new report by Sveriges Radio, it has come to light that the Islamic Iranian regime allegedly orchestrated a plot to target and kill Jews in Sweden. The clandestine operation reportedly involved two Iranian secret agents tasked with mapping and planning the murders of several individuals, with their primary targets being Swedish Jews, including Aron Verständig, chairman of the Jewish Central Council. The “disturbing saga” began in 2021, when law enforcement arrested a Stockholm-based “refugee” Muslim couple, Mahdi Ramezani and Fereshteh Sanaeifarid, who...

A McDonald’s outpost in Connecticut is being slammed for its “outrageous pricing” after a customer was charged more than $7 for an Egg McMuffin—and nearly $6 for a side of hash browns. “$7.29 for one McDonald’s Egg McMuffin. What has the world come to??” New York-based Bespoke Investment Group wrote on X of the breakfast sandwich, also posting a photo of the stiff bill.(snip) “These were 2 for $2 pretty recently,” the Bespoke account added in the X post, though the popular fast-food chain did away with that promotional offering in 2016. In a subsequent post, the Bespoke account noted...

The US has new intelligence on Russian military capabilities related to its efforts to deploy a nuclear anti-satellite system in space, according to multiple sources familiar with the intelligence. The intelligence was briefed to Congress and key US allies, and some lawmakers say it is serious enough that it should be declassified and made public. While the intelligence is concerning, multiple senior members of Congress briefed on the information on Wednesday emphasized that it does not pose an immediate threat to the US or its interests. The system remains under development and is not yet in orbit, according to three US...

Your PC without this CPU feature won’t boot Windows 11 24H2 KEY TAKEAWAYS Windows 11 24H2 update requires the POPCNT CPU feature, making it impossible to run on super-old PCs. Modern CPUs support POPCNT, so if you recently bought a new PC, you won't have any issues. PCs older than fifteen years will be affected by this change and won't be able to boot Windows 11 without POPCNT support. Windows 11 24H2 is the next big update that Microsoft will roll out later this year, and it might finally put an end to the practice of running Windows unofficially on...

Former President Donald Trump has been discussing the future of the Defense Department with former Hawaii congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, as he plots the future of the branch should he return to the White House. Trump, who went through multiple National Security and Defense advisers in his first term, met with Gabbard at least once in person last year, a source familiar with the conversations told the Washington Post. Gabbard, previously a Democrat, has become a vocal critic of sending resources to Ukraine in its war with Russia. She has faced criticism from both parties over her isolationist approach to foreign...

The Rinos are running away now as fast as they can. I am not surprised. I have seen this before close up in 2016. They are afraid of having to serve with President Trump because they know that what they have done is risky at best --- and Trump may raise the issues. So many in DC are compromised, and they don't want it public. Better to "retire" because they "want to spend more time with the family" than have the nation privy to their dirty laundry. Everyone bailing now is suspect as far as I'm concerned.

A conservative group has told a Georgia judge that it doesn't have evidence to support its claims of illegal ballot stuffing during the the 2020 general election and a runoff two months later. Texas-based True the Vote filed complaints with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in 2021, including one in which it said it had obtained “a detailed account of coordinated efforts to collect and deposit ballots in drop boxes across metro Atlanta” during the November 2020 election and a January 2021 runoff. A Fulton County Superior Court judge in Atlanta signed an order last year requiring True the...

President Joe Biden lashed out at Robert Hur last week over one particular line in the special counsel's report on his handling of classified documents: that Biden "did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died." “How in the hell dare he raise that?” Biden told reporters in an impromptu White House press conference. “Frankly, when I was asked the question, I thought to myself, it wasn’t any of their damn business.” But Hur never asked that question, according to two people familiar with Hur’s five-hour interview with the president over two days last October. It was...

The Seattle City Council’s recently implemented minimum payment ordinance for app-based workers like those who work handling deliveries through apps such as DoorDash, Uber Eats and Instacart is hurting the workers it intended to help. In 2022, the Seattle City Council enacted a first-of-its-kind ordinance that aimed to help ensure that app-based delivery drivers earn a minimum wage plus tips and compensation for expenses. That law took effect last month and effectively requires companies to pay the greater of a minimum per-minute amount of $0.44 and a minimum per-mile amount of $0.74, or a minimum per-offer amount of $5. In...

Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report revealed President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified information, indicating a pattern of carelessness dating back to at least 2010. The report highlighted a significant cognitive decline in Biden, making his handling of classified materials politically damaging. “Classified information of any kind may only be reviewed or discussed in secured locations, and never in a public place such as on a train,” Cynthia Hogan wrote. “The [classified briefing] books must remain in your custody, or that of your cleared staff, at all times unless they are in your safe. Classified material must be returned to your...

I just got an update from my daughter in law about Allie. Here is what I heard. Allie smiled today! That can be a very significant development!!! This all started with the Flu which attacked Allie's heart which reduced the flow of oxygen to her brain which has caused some level of damage. Doctors were able to remove her breathing tube, so Allie is breathing on her own. She is still on dialysis and unfortunately not very responsive. The prognosis for her recovery seems to be better with Allie's appropriate smile. Maybe our prayers can bring Allie to full health....
