WASHINGTON — President Biden went ballistic on special counsel Robert Hur for allegedly asking about his son Beau’s death — but a new report says the question never came up and Biden himself raised the topic.
The 81-year-old president was defending his cognitive abilities when he ripped Hur during a bellicose press conference Thursday night — but Biden’s memory appears to have failed him again.
NBC News reported Wednesday that the president himself brought up his son’s 2015 death from brain cancer during five hours of questioning on Oct. 8-9.
“It was the president, not Hur or his team, who first introduced Beau Biden’s death,” two sources familiar with the Biden interview told the outlet.

He uses it as emotional extortion or for sympathy.
He’s utterly without a shred of integrity.
Any discussion with Joe Biden consistently follows a too familiar string of lies and rambling tales of people who aren’t there and his accomplishing feats he never tried. This is nothing new related to his age. He’s been doing those things since the 80’s.
If this interview was recorded it should be easy enough to prove.
When doesn’t he bring it up?
Biden lied about this even when he could remember.
Hur didn’t say he was incompetent. He said a jury of the people would be sympathetic and he wouldn’t try the case unless he could guarantee a guilty verdict. It’s BS. Bill Cosby was in a wheelchair. Charge him.
You know the next time he has to address a death, (KC shooting) he’ll say Beau was shot dead in Iraq.
Joe likes to be the perpetual victim to gain sympathy. Ran for years with lies that his wife and daughter were killed by a truck driver who “drank his lunch,” that his Delaware home “almost burned down,” and that his son “Beau was lost in Iraq.”
Hur: "Were you ever paid to deliver top secret documents to foreign agents?"
Briben: "Listen you dog-faced pony-soldier, stop asking me questions when I just lost my son Beau in Viet Nam."
Hur: "When did your son die?"
Briben: "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU BROUGHT UP MY SON'S DEATH!"
I suspected as much. Can’t speak truth to power in Joe Biden’s universe without repetition template pronouncements like that.
Had to use his deceased son again for press question presentation material while making bitter accusations—not a good look. Reminds me of a stunt.
