Former First Daughter, global health advocate and venture capitalist Chelsea Clinton is promoting the start-up company Oula, a midwife-centered maternity clinic that provides “a middle ground approach to birth and pregnancy care” located in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York. Oula delivers personalized care to reduce emergency C-sections and preterm birth rates. At a recent event with Oula co-founder and COO Elaine Purcell, Clinton delivered the startling statistic “that women delivering today are 50% more likely to die in childbirth or from childbirth-related complications than our own mothers were,” with the crisis disproportionately affecting Black and brown women. Clinton continues to...

New York City Mayor Eric Adams criticized President Biden on Wednesday for withholding much-needed relief to mitigate the city’s migrant crisis — all while insisting he will support the president’s re-election even if someone stronger on border issues enters the race. After being shown the cover of today’s New York Post, which features a lone Border Patrol agent staring down thousands of migrants waiting to cross into Texas, Adams admitted he was “confused” why the Biden administration still won’t help with asylum seekers even after his 10th trip to Washington to beg for subsidies. “I am lost. I am confused...

Only about half of young Americans in a poll released Wednesday say democracy is the greatest form of government. A poll from The Economist/YouGov shows that among U.S. adults surveyed, support for democracy is strongest among older Americans, but it declines in every subsequent younger age bracket — with the weakest levels of support among adults younger than 45. Only 54 percent of U.S. adults ages 18-29 agree with the statement, “Democracy is the greatest form of government,” including 21 percent who agree strongly and 34 percent who agree somewhat. Another 34 percent say they neither agree nor disagree, and...

Kyle Rittenhouse has been mocked for bringing his therapy dog to a TV interview. Rittenhouse, 20, rose to prominence when he was involved in the fatal shootings of 36-year-old Joseph Rosenbaum and 26-year-old Anthony Huber at a Black Lives Matter protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in August 2020. A 26-year-old named Gaige Grosskreutz was also injured by Rittenhouse, who was armed with a semi-automatic AR-15-style assault rifle. He argued he used the gun in self-defense and was acquitted of charges of first-degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, and two charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

His hatred of former President Donald Trump is so all-consuming that he would rather have an incapacitated president who is only able to blink his eyes than a second Trump administration. Robert De Niro made his latest outrageous claim in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine during which the actor was asked if Biden is the “right person” to take on Trump.

President Biden’s problem right now is not simply that his polls are bad. It’s that he is leaking support from key Democratic blocs — and that his nemesis, former President Trump, is doing surprisingly well. The starkest example comes among young voters. A New York Times/Siena College poll released Tuesday showed Trump ahead of Biden by 6 points among registered voters under 30. If such a performance were to be reflected in an actual election, it would make a Trump victory all but inevitable. In 2020, Biden crushed Trump by 24 points among the under-30s, according to the main exit...

In many shopping malls protesters are staging anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian rallies directly targeting Christmas shoppers, but also scaring children who had come to sit on Santa’s knee.In many central shopping areas across Canada, protesters have staged anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian rallies, killing the Christmas spirit and also terrifying kids who had come to sit on Santa’s knee. At a shopping mall in Ottawa, protesters shouted and drummed, and their only response to the parents of frightened children was to point out that „if your children are scared, imagine how the Palestinian kids must feel.” At one point, Santa Claus looks almost just...

California’s lieutenant governor on Wednesday sent a letter calling for the secretary of state to explore options for taking former President Donald Trump’s name off California’s 2024 presidential primary ballot. Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis’ letter to Secretary of State Shirley Weber comes after the Colorado Supreme Court ruled this week that Trump’s role in the Jan. 6, 2021, riots at the Capitol disqualified him from standing for the presidential election as part of the 14th Amendment’s ban on insurrectionists. Section 13 of the 14th Amendment says that insurrectionists can’t serve as senators, representatives, presidential electors, “or hold any office, civil...

Explanation: What's causing those unusual sky arcs? Ice crystals. While crossing a field of fresh snow near Füssen, Bavaria, Germany, earlier this month, the photographer noticed that he had entered an ice fog. For suspended water to freeze into an ice fog requires quite cold temperatures, and indeed the air temperature on this day was measured at well below zero. The ice fog reflected light from the Sun setting behind St. Coleman Church. The result was one of the greatest spectacles the photographer has ever seen. First, the spots in the featured picture are not background stars but suspended ice...

“What the left and the media and the Democrats are doing — they’re doing all this stuff, to basically solidify support in the primary for him, get him into the general, and the whole general election is going to be all this legal stuff,” DeSantis said Wednesday, speaking at the Westside Conservative Club Breakfast in Iowa. “What they don’t want is to have somebody like me, who will make the election not about all those other issues, but it’ll make the election about the failures of Biden, the failures of the left and how we’re going to be able to...

[Catholic Caucus] Francis and Fernández: Is the Roman Curia Now furious?Caminante-Wanderer.blogspot.com commented on 19 December on the recent homosex-propaganda text by Francis and Fernández that "allows" a "blessing" of practised homosexuality, which is a mortal sin. His main points.- The scribble was written by Fernández and Bergoglio and published without going through the usual channels, allegedly infuriating the Roman Curia. Only two years ago, Tucho's Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith said the opposite, and the theologians who work there are still the same people.- Caminate-Wanderer believes that Cardinal Parolin "must be furious" because a few weeks ago he...

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten recently said that school choice “undermines democracy.” In a video of her remarks, Weingarten slammed former White House Education Secretary Betsy Devos, City Journal journalist Christopher Rufo, and prominent school choice activist Corey DeAngelis. “[School choice proponents] have not one thing that they offer as a solution other than privatizing or voucherizing schools, which is about undermining democracy and undermining civil discourse and undermining pluralism, because 90 percent of our kids goes to public schools still. They just divided. Divided, divide, divide, divide,” Weingarten claimed. “What did Rufo say? Rufo, DeAngelis, Devos,...

Brick dates to the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II (ca. 604 to 562 BCE) based on the interpretation of the inscription. This object was looted from its original context before being acquired by the Slemani Museum and stored in that museum with agreement from the central government. This archaeomagnetic approach provides a more precise method for dating ancient artifacts and understanding historical magnetic field fluctuations. Ancient bricks inscribed with the names...
