A federal judge in Texas declared the Biden administration's attempt at banning pistol braces is likely unlawful last week. The lawsuit, brought by the Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) on behalf of members of the National Association for Gun Rights Inc. and Texas Gun Rights, Inc., argued the rule put forth by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), that would require 40 million U.S. gun owners to place their name on a gun registry and pay a tax, is unconstitutional. If gun owners didn't register and pay the tax, they could face up to 10...

They will also slap a 50 per cent tax on Radlers – beer crafted with juice – and launch a Radler buyback programme that allows punters to exchange Radler beers with “real beer”.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has launched his most brazen attack on former President Donald Trump to date, claiming Trump “attack[ed] our friend and ally, Israel” and falsely claiming he “praise[d] Hezbollah terrorists” during a speech in Florida. The clip of Trump’s speech, however, undermines the claim. In context, it is clear the 45th President was referring to how “smart” Hezbollah leadership has been in comparison with the Biden government’s capabilities.“I read all of Biden’s security people, can you imagine, national defense people, and they said ‘Gee, I hope Hezbollah doesn’t attack from the north, because that’s the most vulnerable spot!'” Trump...

On this date in 1984, the eldest of Richmond’s still-notorious spree-killing Briley brothers went to Virginia’s electric hair. Though they came from a respected and stable family, the Briley youths turned out to be such terrifyingly bad seeds that their father, James Sr., eventually kept his own bedroom door padlocked against them. Our man Linwood Briley was the calculating leader, and the first of the Brileys to taste blood when he senselessly shot a 57-year-old neighbor hanging laundry in her backyard in 1971. As the shooter was only 16 at the time, he did a brief turn in reform school...

Researchers are testing a drug against obesity and diabetes, and now a team reports that substance has a beneficial effect on mice with experimental lung cancer. The substance is the short-chain fatty acid propionate, which is naturally produced by bacteria in our gut. This new research study shows that treating mice with lung cancer with propionate can reduce the occurrence of metastases. The study also demonstrates a role for propionate in increasing the effectiveness of Cisplatin, a commonly used drug for lung cancer patients. One of these programs is called EMT (epithelial-mesenchymal transition), which existed even when we were still...
