The Israelis got caught with their pants down. Too much reliance on electronics. No fast reaction forces on alert. It would be standard security to maintain heightened alertness going into a Holiday. They apparently didn’t. All the excuses in the world can’t cover up this massive cockup.

There is a lot of division within the Israeli government at this time which may have played into this, plus there seems to be a lot of effort being expended to support of Ukraine intelligence.
Both may have played into this .
However, any of the purported intelligence would also have been communicated to the US as well.

There are more "known" threats and warnings that don't wind up occurring than do.
Without the source material he's talking about, we'll never know how reliable or specific the intel was.

One thing wrong with this picture is that congressmen aren’t supposed to reveal what they really learn in “closed door intelligence hearings.” But they can talk, talk, talk about what they didn’t hear.
Which suggests to me he didn’t actually hear that.
Revelation of this type of information compromises what few intelligence resources we might have in the area.
There is a time to reveal this type of information, this ain't it.
Did they directly tell the prime minister? That’s where it went wrong if they didn’t.
