Russian President Vladimir Putin knocked the criminal cases against former President Trump on Tuesday, calling them a demonstration of the “rottenness” of the American political system. “As for the prosecution of Trump, for us what is happening in today’s conditions, in my opinion, is good because it shows the rottenness of the American political system, which cannot pretend to teach others democracy,” Putin said during a speech at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia. He argued that “everything that is happening with Trump is the persecution of a political rival for political reasons.” “That’s what it is,” the Putin...

In a deviation from federal recommendations, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration is advising residents under the age of 65 not to get the new Covid boosters from Pfizer and Moderna. "What I have directed our department to do is to provide guidance that really recommends and advises against the use of these mRNA Covid-19 vaccines for anyone under 65," Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo said at an online panel hosted by DeSantis on Wednesday. The statement ignores the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's recommendations: The agency said on Tuesday that everyone ages 6 months and up who has not...

Florida Gov. and presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis said the NAACP is pulling a "stunt" by calling Florida hostile to Black Americans, other minorities and LGBTQ+ people. The NAACP has issued a warning that Florida is "openly hostile for African Americans, people of color, and LGBTQ individuals." In an interview with DeSantis, CBS Evening News ... Norah O'Donnell asked if ... everyone could feel welcome in DeSantis' America. "A hundred percent," DeSantis responded. "And that is politics. That's a stunt that they're playing. They obviously have (a) very left wing agenda, which I don't begrudge them that. But in Florida, our...

Former President Donald Trump “must die in prison” to “protect the Democratic Republic,” according to MSNBC Columnist Dean Obeidallah, who claimed he is “passionate” about the matter “with every fiber” of his being. While conversing with Mediaite Reporter Tommy Christopher about the media’s portrayal of the advanced ages of the two primary presidential contenders on his eponymous show Friday, the left-wing commentator and SiriusXM radio host argued that Trump “must die in prison.”

When New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham issued "a public health emergency order" that purportedly suspended the right to bear arms in Albuquerque and surrounding Bernalillo County last week, her justification was seemingly straightforward. "I have emergency powers," she told The New York Times. "Gun violence is an epidemic. Therefore, it's an emergency." Grisham's stunt was widely condemned as blatantly unconstitutional, even by some leading gun control supporters. But her legal rationale also underlined the perils posed by the sweeping emergency powers that legislators in many states have granted governors -- a problem that was abundantly clear during the COVID-19...

America’s electric-vehicle drivers are increasingly unhappy with public charging, as problems that include glitchy or inoperable equipment seem to be getting worse, not better. Now the U.S. government plans to launch a $100 million effort to try to tackle the reliability issue and make public charging less annoying and more consistent. The funding aims to repair and replace thousands of old or out-of-commission chargers that are contributing to a roll-of-the-dice sensation among EV drivers, who never know what they might find. Around one in five attempts at charging at a public station outside of the Tesla network is a bust,...

Subway service on the W line is resuming Wednesday night after it was suspended most of the day following a vandalism spree on Tuesday evening. The MTA said a vandal or vandals smashed 78 windows on 35 trains from the inside. It appears it happened while the trains were in service. Service was suspended overnight Tuesday and for most of the day Wednesday up until the evening commute. So many windows were damaged that officials said they were running out of spare glass to make repairs. By around 11 a.m. Wednesday, 25 trainsets had been repaired, but hundreds of thousands...

MEXICO CITY, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Mexican lawmakers heard testimony that "we are not alone" in the universe and saw the alleged remains of non-human beings in an extraordinary hearing marking the Latin American country's first congressional event on UFOs. In the hearing on Tuesday on FANI, the Spanish acronym for what are usually now termed Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), politicians were shown two artifacts that Mexican journalist and long-time UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan claimed were the corpses of extraterrestrials.

This is a way underreported story. It was Antony Blinken, the limp wristed Secretary of State who bends over for all US adversaries while calling it a success, who reached out to ex-CIA Director Mike Morrell to cobble together a group of "intelligence experts" who would sign a false statement calling the Hunter Biden laptop "Russian disinformation" so Biden could use it a hammer to pound Donald Trump in their debate. Morrell was eager to help. After all, he was motivated to do so. Financially motivated. In 2017 the thinktank Atlantic Council signed an agreement with Burisma despite knowing it...

The White House said resident Joe Biden was just calling to check in on Hunter when he was on calls with his son's business associates. 'This is part of the right-wing's misinformation machine to try to confuse people about what the truth is,' White House spokesperson for oversight and investigations Ian Sams told CNN on Wednesday morning. 'The truth is that the president, as he said publicly for years, calls his family every day to check in. He calls his son every day to check in. He calls his other family members to check in to see how they are...

Mayor Brandon Johnson didn’t take ex-Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s word for it when she said she’d left the city in great financial shape, with an $85 million shortfall. It’s a good thing he was skeptical, his top aides told some City Council members in a budget briefing. Chicago faces a $538 million budget shortfall in 2024, with $200 million of it tied to the migrant crisis, influential alderpersons were told Tuesday.

There is a huge difference between true caring and indignant self-righteousness, a fact that the mayors of many sanctuary cities are now learning. It’s one thing to climb up on your soap box and declare that immigration makes communities stronger when you have no idea what you’re talking about. The truth is that these cities never had any intention of being sanctuaries for anyone. They never dreamed that the overflow would reach them. So they smugly smirked and ridiculed the governors and mayors of border cities and states, dismissing the immigration mess and open borders as someone else’s problem. Now...

Suspending the Constitution is all fun and games until you look around and even your allies won’t return your calls. Such is life at the moment for Emperor Michelle I of New Mexico, formerly known as Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, who thought she could score some virtue-signaling points on the cheap at the expense of law-abiding gun owners. The Emperor and the state now face a slew of lawsuits seeking federal intervention to enforce the US Constitution and punitive measures against a tinpot dictator who claims her oath to the Constitution is “not absolute.”Late yesterday, the emperor discovered that she...

On the menu today: New Mexico governor Michelle Lujan Grisham declares war on her own state’s constitution and mocks her state’s police for being “squeamish,” and a new book reveals how much the U.S. government and its contractors deliberately hindered the Afghan military’s ability to protect itself as the Taliban approached Kabul in the spring and summer of 2021.Gun Order Backfires Let us begin by being clear: The governor of a state does not have the right to unilaterally suspend laws or portions of the state or U.S. constitutions by an emergency declaration, absent an actual indisputable emergency and justification...

Corporate media outlet Newsweek has been caught failing to disclose that an opinion editorial attacking former President Donald Trump was written by two employees of a polling firm whose founder and CEO is the chief pollster for the pro-DeSantis SuperPAC Never Back Down. The authors, Byron Allen and Amanda Iovino, are both employees of WPA Intelligence, and used their op-ed column to claim Trump is losing white voters, passing off Never Back Down talking points as thin analysis. Newsweek makes no mention of WPA Intelligence’s affiliation with Never Back Down.Chris Wilson, the founder and CEO of WPA Intelligence, serves as...
