The new “Meet the Press” host is starting off with a bang, scoring an interview with former President Trump.
Kristen Welker takes the helm of the show on Sunday from former host Chuck Todd.
The interview with the 2024 GOP front-runner will be taped Thursday at Trump’s Bedminster golf club in New Jersey.
During a brief transition last week, Welker thanked Todd for his guidance into the role. “I am ready, Chuck, and I just want to say I am also so thankful and grateful to you for this moment for entrusting me with this monumental, important role,” she said.

Oh well. Trump volunteered. What ever happens is on him. He loves the attention.

Sacrifice herself to get Trump. In her first show? I wish her luck. If she goes after Trump, her ratings won’t get any higher. If she plays it straight, she becomes a journalist and the shows rating will go up. It’s the networks choice.

Trump isn’t afraid to go into the Lions Den, he’s from NYC and has been around the Big Media his whole life. He doesn’t have anything to be afraid of, if they couldn’t rattle him with the CNN town hall. It’s hard to believe MTP will be worse.
If I’m wrong, I’ll admit it & move on.
However, I like the move because unless your Joe Biden, you aren’t becoming President by avoiding the media.

Chris Wallace was atrocious and should never be allowed near a debate platform again. Not even a high school debate, he was that bad.
Prediction: She will constantly interrupt and before Trump can fully respond say, “OK, let’s move on …”
