Oxygen might give out today for the 5 people in the sub. There are five missing on the OceanGate Titan sub: OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush, British businessman Hamish Harding, father-and-son Shahzada and Suleman Dawood, who are members of one of Pakistan’s wealthiest families, and Paul-Henry Nargeolet, a former French navy officer and leading Titanic expert. An interview with Stockton Rush from 2018 shows that a woke mindset can be deadly:

Denmark, Ireland and Switzerland have been named the world’s most competitive economies in the 2023 World Competitiveness Ranking published by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) on Tuesday. While Denmark managed to stay in first place after its rise to the top last year, Ireland leapt from 11th to second place, with Switzerland stuck in neutral in third place. What springs to mind when looking at this year’s top performers is the fact that all of them are relatively small economies, enabling them to react faster in today’s fast-paced globalized economy. “Navigating today’s unpredictable environment requires agility and adaptability,” Christos...

What did Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Loretta Lynch, and James Comey know about Russia-collusion — and when did they know it? John Durham dropped a bombshell in his testimony today at House Oversight, which will go on for at least a couple of hours or more, but this part wasn’t the bombshell. In his special-counsel report, Durham had already revealed that CIA Director John Brennan briefed these four in August 2016 that Hillary Clinton planned to paint Donald Trump as linked to Russian intelligence, presumably to shift attention away from her own e-mail scandal. That briefing resulted in a “referral memorandum,”...

West Virginia senator Joe Manchin's Democratic colleagues are scrambling to stop him from mounting a presidential bid against party-mate Joe Biden, calling the prospect of a challenge from the high-profile senator a "terrible idea" that would only help Republicans. Manchin has flirted with a third-party presidential bid, an endeavor that self-described centrist group No Labels—which has pledged to spend $70 million on a third-party candidate in 2024 but has yet to reveal its most recent financial figures—could fund. For Manchin's Senate Democratic colleagues, the idea is a full-blown disaster. Sen. John Hickenlooper (D., Colo.), for example, told Politico he "advised...

Daytime napping may help to preserve brain health by slowing the rate at which our brains shrink as we age, suggests a new study. The study analyzed data from people aged 40 to 69 and found a causal link between habitual napping and larger total brain volume—a marker of good brain health linked to a lower risk of dementia and other diseases. Previous research has shown that napping has cognitive benefits, with people who have had a short nap performing better in cognitive tests in the hours afterwards than counterparts who did not nap. The new study aimed to establish...

Killer Mike believes any new gun control laws in America will hurt Black people before any other group -- but the rapper's telling us a few other ways he thinks the spike in gun violence can be flattened. Mike joined us Wednesday on "TMZ Live" to discuss potential curfews for minors in Atlanta -- something he's all for as a measure to mitigate violence ... and, he says he had curfew when he was growing up in the area. However, he remains firmly against the passage of new legislation as a means to reduce gun-related crime. Mike says he's a...

Two novel approaches for the treatment of infections caused by antibiotic-resistant superbugs have shown efficacy and good clinical application potential in studies. To date, a number of bacterial strains have been classified as superbugs, among which the hyper-resistant and hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae is arguably the one which poses the greatest threat to human health. Prof. Chen Sheng discovered a newly emerged genetic variant of Klebsiella pneumoniae, namely the hyper-resistant and hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae (CR-hvKP), which can cause untreatable and fatal infections even in healthy individuals. Various studies in China showed that the mortality rate of CR-hvKP infection ranged from 25%...

The office of Florida Gov. The Washington Post and Reuters reported Wednesday that Mori Hosseini, a Florida developer and longtime GOP donor in the state, had lent a golf simulator to the governor’s mansion in 2019. Asked about the reports, DeSantis spokesman Jeremy Redfern referred CNN to a statement he issued to the Post which did not dispute the source of the simulator.

Video shows the moment the OceanGate Expeditions submersible began its doomed voyage to the Titanic wreck in selfie footage posted to TikTok. Abbi Jackson, a 22-year-old videographer employed by the company onboard the mothership, Polar Prince, shared the short video before the vessel disappeared. The post, captioned 'watching a submarine go down to the Titanic' pans away from the ship's deck to show Titan on the surface of the Atlantic Ocean some distance away. Miss Jackson also filmed one of the sub's passengers, Paul Henri Nargeolet, who has been dubbed 'Mr Titanic' for visiting the wreckage 37 times. The 77-year-old...

Since the Ukrainian abrogation of the Istanbul non-aggression and neutrality agreement of March 2022, which President Vladimir Putin displayed to a delegation of African leaders last Saturday, one thing has been clear. The pact to end this war will be drafted and signed by Ukrainian soldiers who have been defeated in the field, not by civilian politicians who are paid and instructed by Washington. The terms will be dictated by Russian soldiers. They will calculate the distances to be covered by long-range NATO artillery and missile launches on Russian territory, and of Ukrainian terrorist attacks into Russian regions. These are...

While most of the fireworks from Special Counsel John Durham’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday came from contentious questioning by the Democrats, toward the end of the hearing, there were some additional pyrotechnics compliments of the Republican members. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) ceded some of his time to Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), at which point Gaetz took after Durham in a rather unexpected turn. (Video is cued up to the introduction of Gaetz’s questioning.) First, Massie set the scene: Massie: Mr. Durham, this seems to have all started with one person, but I don’t see his name...

A San Diego man claims he was ambushed and set on fire by a group of 'hate-filled' attackers after leaving a restaurant. Scott Rowin, 39, said he was attacked while walking through the city's Hillcrest neighborhood on June 18 as he was leaving a local restaurant. Rowin told ABC 10 that two attackers shouted 'f**got' at him prior to rushing up and dousing him with a liquid that had the consistency of water. 'Immediately after that, I went up like coals on a barbecue. It started off really big,' said the man who sustained serious burns in the incident. He...

The wife of Stockton Rush, the OceanGate CEO who was at the helm of the Titanic-bound submersible when it vanished Sunday, is descended from two wealthy first-class passengers who died when the ship sank in 1912, according to a report. Wendy Rush is the great-great-granddaughter of Isador Straus — who co-founded Macy’s department store — and Ida Straus, who were among the wealthiest people aboard the Titanic’s ill-fated transatlantic voyage, according to archived records obtained by the New York Times. The Strauses are remembered for their moving display of love as the ocean liner infamously sank in the North Atlantic...
