A headline in New York magazine laments, “Bud Light, Target, and a New Era of Corporate Caution.” A new era of corporate caution? Don’t threaten me with a good time. Imagine a beer company that just wanted to make good beer and sell it to you. Imagine if that company wanted to sell beer to everyone but didn’t feel that its job was to make you more accepting of transgender individuals, any more than it felt its job was to warn you about the national debt or teach you the value of standardized testing in public schools or warn you...

Your mind isn’t playing tricks on you — the pandemic may have affected your memory. According to a study published Wednesday in the journal PLOS One, COVID-19 lockdowns caused people to lose track of time. Scottish researchers found people made errors when trying to remember events from 2021, findings that are consistent with memory lapses experienced by people who have served jail time. “Remembering when past events occurred becomes more difficult as more time passes,” study co-author Arash Sahraie told SWNS. “In addition, people’s activities and emotions can influence their perception of the passage of time.”

Target’s stock has lost a whopping $13.8 billion over the past two weeks, hitting its lowest levels in nearly three years as the “cheap chic” discount retailer continues to face backlash over LGBTQ-friendly kids clothing. Shares of the embattled chain sank 2.2% at $130.93 on Wednesday after dropping for eight straight sessions — the stock’s longest losing streak since November 2018 — giving the company a market capitalization of $60.4 billion. That’s off 19% from two weeks earlier on May 18, when the stock was trading at $160.96 on the eve of the crisis. It’s also the lowest levels Target...

Trump adviser Stephen Miller on Friday lamented the devastating cost the 2024 Republican primary race will have on the party while Democrats are prepared for the general election. Miller told FOX News host Jesse Watters that Republicans need to rally around Trump, the man that the deep state wants to imprison and finish this. "The real tragedy here, I think a lot of people watching will agree with me on this is that we're going to burn hundreds and millions of dollars here in a primary that we need to be spending, ballot harvesting," Miller said. "In other words, the...

Quantaurius Simmons and Andres Brisco arrived with two other people at the fast food restaurant on Saturday and ordered a hot dog with a side of jalapeno poppers at around 7:30 p.m., according to Tulsa police. Instead, however, the group received a hot dog with jalapenos on it, triggering an argument between them and the Sonic employees. A manager stepped in to try and quell the situation, but Simmons allegedly exited the black Altima and tried to enter a closed-off section of the restaurant. When the manager tried to stop him, police said Simmons dragged the man outside and began...

June 1, 2023, is Marilyn Monroe’s 97th birthday In some or many male hearts and dreams, she is very much alive. She was available. “What do I wear in bed?” she pretended to ask herself, “Why, Chanel No.5, of course.” The fantasy was so good that it became real. “If I’d observed all the rules, I’d never have got anywhere.” Her reality sometimes went happily, but tragically too: these are believed to be her last words spoken to actor Peter Lawford: She was “tired and would not be coming” to dinner. “…… say goodbye to the president (Lawford’s brother-in-law), and...

Luke 1:39-56Friends, today’s Gospel tells of Mary’s visit to Elizabeth. I’ve always been fascinated by Mary’s “haste” in this story of the Visitation. Upon hearing the message of Gabriel concerning her own pregnancy and that of her cousin, Mary “traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah” to see Elizabeth. Why did she go with such speed and purpose? Because she had found her mission, her role in the theo-drama. We are dominated today by the ego-drama in all of its ramifications and implications. The ego-drama is the play that I’m writing, I’m producing, I’m directing, and...

On May 20, 2023, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reported that France's Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin stated during his recent visit to the U.S.: "We have come to remind them that for Europeans, and for France, the primary risk is Sunni Islamist terrorism and that anti-terrorist collaboration between intelligence services is absolutely essential." This anodyne statement by Mr. Darmanin, whose maternal grandfather was an Algerian Muslim soldier in the French Army, has generated significant condemnation from various Islamist organizations, Islamists, and prominent figures, uniting criticism from Qatari-funded Islamists with those connected to the regime in Cairo. Their responses reflect deep concerns about...

Chubby North Korean tyrant Kim Jong Un’s weight has ballooned to more than 300 pounds — and he pulls all-nighters in a “vicious cycle” of heavy boozing and smoking, according to spies from the South. Seoul’s National Intelligence Service gave an update Wednesday on “intensely” monitoring the health of the secretive leader, who came to power after his father, Kim Jong Il, died in 2011 from a heart attack. Despite reports in 2021 that he’d lost nearly 50 pounds on a health kick, Kim appears to have gained back all of it and more, the spies estimated, citing artificial intelligence...

“We’re just down to the technical changes that we’re having conversations about. So we don’t have the final version yet but it is something conceptually I do support,” Gov. Kathy Hochul told reporters in New York City on Wednesday. People convicted of sex crimes are explicitly ineligible, according to the legislative language, which has no effect on media reports concerning past crimes. The proposal would allow certain employers like law enforcement agencies, courts, prosecutors, schools, and even Uber to access sealed records. The DMV and government officials could also view rap sheets when people respectively apply for driving-related jobs and...

Corporations that wrecked their images in woke marketing campaigns could pay a price for decisions that cost shareholders money. On Tuesday, America First Legal took to Twitter on a fishing expedition looking for disgruntled shareholders who have seen their investments flow down the drain faster than a barrel of Bud Light since the beer’s embrace of transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney led to a weeks-long boycott that shows no sign of stopping. “ATTENTION: Are you a shareholder of @Target @Kohls @abinbev, or other companies that are promoting transgender, LGBTQ and PRIDE products and diminishing shareholder value? We want to hear from...

Today, America First Legal (AFL) released its fourth tranche of emails received from the National Archives in response to AFL’s request and lawsuit for records from Joe Biden’s time as Vice President in the Obama Administration and Hunter Biden’s corrupt foreign business dealings. According to the National Archives, this tranche consists of “email messages from December 2009 through June 2010 that includes the company name ‘Rosemont Seneca.’” The National Archives initially proposed withholding “142 email messages in whole and 54 email messages in part” under the Presidential Records Act, but after Stuart Delery, Counsel to the President, and Robert Lenhard,...
