On this date in 1916, Private Robert Digby was shot by a German firing squad in the tiny northern France village of Villeret. Digby was the last of a quartet of English soldiers who had been part of the British Expeditionary Force who met the Hun’s first foray into France in 1914. Digby and his mates, Thomas Donohoe, David Martin and William Thorpe, were stranded behind lines. Villeret took them in and changed their uniforms for peasant clothes while they worked the fields and tried to keep their heads down. “Every inhabitant of Villeret knew of the British soldiers in...

A deadly virus that few people even know exists is causing misery across intensive care units and pediatric hospitals, doctors warn. High rates of Covid, flu and even RSV during winter led to hospitals overflowing during winter during a situation dubbed a 'tripledemic'. But cases of human metapneumovirus (HMPV), which can cause bronchitis and pneumonia, shot up to record levels in spring, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s respiratory virus surveillance systems. It may partly explain why so many people tested negative for flu and Covid in recent months despite showing symptoms. Dr John Williams, a pediatrician...

The Washington DC-based Museum of the Palestinian People is a room-sized collection of propaganda.I noticed in their virtual tour that they showed "Palestinian coins, 1917." Since there were no "Palestinian coins" in 1917, I looked a little closer.Well, they have Arabic writing, and they do say 1917.A short amount of research showed that they were not even Ottoman - but Egyptian!Hussein Kamel was named Sultan of Egypt under British protectorate from 1914-1917 and these coins bear his name. There is nothing "Palestinian" about them. When a people have no history, they have to make a history up. And you cannot even trust...

Is Biden the Stalin of our times? Stewart Rhodes, Gal Luft and the Kulaks By Ezequiel Doiny Part 1- Political repressions through widespread intimidation, arrests, and imprisonment On May 27, 2023 the Gateway Pundit reported "Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes was sentenced on Thursday in Washington DC. Far-left Obama-appointed US District Judge Amit Mehta on Thursday sentenced Rhodes to 18 years in federal prison. This was after he added extra years to his sentence because he believed Rhodes’ actions amounted to terrorism. "This was completely ludicrous. The soulless judge then lectured him on what a danger he was to society....

Special Counsel John H. Durham's "Report on Matters Related to Intelligence Activities and Investigations Arising Out of the 2016 Presidential Campaigns" continues the practice of allowing government officials to escape accountability for their abuse of American citizens. In June 2017, the United States Department of Justice applied to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Court for the third renewal of a surveillance and search warrant on part-time Donald Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. The DoJ's application was based in part on the credibility of former British intelligence agent Christopher Steele. Steele produced a so-called "dossier," which was a 35-page collection of...

Despite striking a deal with President Joe Biden, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) week could be made difficult by three powerful Republican colleagues. As part of his campaign to secure the speaker's gavel earlier this year, McCarthy promised changes to the House Rules Committee, or "the speaker’s committee" — a pledge that was pivotal to him gaining the votes of Reps. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Ralph Norman (R-SC), who were among the last holdouts. Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) was also given a seat on the committee. Now, those same three additions are in a position to hold up a vote...

Progressive Democrats pushing their green energy agenda during the debt ceiling negotiations are claiming at least some partial victories in the tentative deal struck this weekend between President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Hundreds of billions of dollars in clean energy spending they included in their 2022 Inflation Reduction Act will remain in the agreement, according to several news reports Sunday, though neither side has officially announced specifics. In other potential wins for green energy Democrats, McCarthy, a California Republican and the lead congressional negotiator in the debt ceiling talks, reportedly promised Biden he would pursue ways to speed...

As California Gov. Gavin Newsom stepped on stage at the state Democratic Party Convention this weekend, Vilma Dawson applauded with the visible faith of someone who had supported him through multiple elections and a recall campaign. Dawson does not expect her loyalty to Newsom will be tested in a politically fraught decision that may lie ahead – selecting a successor to fill the seat of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, should the 89-year-old, who has already announced she’s not running for reelection in 2024, resign before the end of her term. “I’m sure Governor Newsom has a plan to appoint an African...

Bud Light, Target … why are they killing their own brands? Why, it’s very simple. And yet scary as Hell. The Redheaded libertarian put together a thread explaining why – take a gander: Why is everything gay? Buckle up, we’re going down this gay rabbit hole. The CEI— Corporate Equality Index— is a woke credit score, that judges companies based on how many woke issues they are pushing. 1. What is “woke”? A word co-oped from the black community by… — The Redheaded libertarian (@TRHLofficial) May 27, 2023 If you don’t want to Google number 4, we did it for...

Just wanted to report in after seeing Fleet Week Los Angeles, held dockside in San Pedro. I helped out a tiny bit, handing out maps and schedules to visitors. I just wanted to report that patriotism is alive and well, where you may not expect it. All kinds of Angeleños showed up, wearing tshirts about military service, patriotism, God, faith and family. Many young families, service men and women, police, community volunteers, veterans. I did see one Black Lives Matter ball cap, but also saw a first: “dare to be Lutheran” on a tshirt. Most poignant: a woman came up...

A new report from Maricopa County in response to a request from Maricopa County Republican Committee committeeman Tristan Manos has revealed that 4,484 ballots in the 2020 election were cast without definitive proof of U.S. citizenship. John 19:25-34 Friends, today we celebrate the Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church. We hear in today’s Gospel that, as he was dying on the cross, Jesus looked to his mother and the disciple whom he loved, and he said to Mary, “Woman, behold, your son,” and then to John, “Behold, your mother.” We are told that “from that hour the disciple took her into his home.”If Mary is the one through whom Christ was born, and if the Church is indeed Christ’s Mystical Body, then she must be, in a very real sense, the Mother of...
