Nike appears to be no longer working with Tom Sachs and a sneaker release that had been planned now seems to have stalled or been canceled all together, Complex reported Friday. “We are not working with Tom’s studio at this time and have no release dates planned,” a Nike representative told Complex. The comment signals that, at least for now, the brand is no longer working with Sachs, though it might not be the definitive end to their relationship. The apparent decision by Nike followed a report by Curbed in March that alleged Sachs’s studio had a toxic work environment....

WOODLAND PARK, Colo. — When a conservative slate of candidates won control of the school board here 18 months ago, they began making big changes... These rapid and sweeping shifts weren’t coincidental — instead it was a plan ripped from the MAGA playbook designed to catch opponents off guard, according to a board member’s email released through an open records request... The school board’s decisions have won some praise in heavily Republican Teller County, but opposition is growing, including from conservative Christians and lifelong GOP voters... Teachers grew particularly alarmed early this year when word spread that Ken Witt, the...

peculation is surrounding Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's health after he reportedly made an early exit during Russia's Victory Day festivities. Lukashenko was photographed at the event with a visible bandage on his right arm. A staunch Putin ally, Lukashenko was the only one of the invited heads of state who did not join Putin in laying down flowers at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a 300-meter walk from where he was seated during the procession, Belarusian newspaper Nasha Niva reported. Belarusian political analyst Dmitry Bolkunets wrote on Telegram that Lukashenko also did not attend a meal with Putin and...

A giant three-story houseboat arrived in the UK Tuesday ready to house at least 500 asylum seekers to help ease a daily $7.5 million hotel bill. The Bibby Stockholm arrived by tow in Falmouth, where it will be refit before moving again to be berthed off the coast of Dorset. The UK government announced last month that it had leased the barge for 18 months to house 500 single adult males who are free to come and go around the local area, a tourist hotspot.

Carlson made the announcement in a video posted to the social media website, which Elon Musk acquired last year. “Speech is the fundamental pre-requisite for democracy. That’s why it was enshrined in the first of our Constitutional amendments,” Carlson said. “Amazingly, as of tonight, there are not that many platforms left that allow free speech. The last big one remaining … is Twitter, where we are now.” https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/09/media/tucker-carlson-twitter/index.html

Several states across the country have imposed bans on books, K-12 educational curricula and diversity programs in recent months. In fact, every state but one has at least attempted to restrict the right to literacy and the free exchange of ideas, according to a recent...

A Nebraska high school star athlete with plans to play football in college died after he suddenly collapsed during track practice on Friday, days before he was set to graduate. Wisner-Pilger High School senior Hunter Palmer — who was an all-district running back in football, a member of the basketball team and a track runner — died hours after his tumble at a hospital in the city of West Point, the Omaha World-Herald reported. “It is with a very heavy heart that we can confirm that Hunter Palmer, senior at Wisner-Pilger Schools, has died,” a release from the school district...

Vladimir Putin’s annual Victory Day parade in Moscow meant to showcase Russia’s military might failed to impress Tuesday, with critics poking fun at the lone World War II-era tank that was seen rolling forlornly through Red Square. The event celebrating Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in 1945 was a drastically pared-down affair compared to years past, featuring a mere 8,000 soldiers — the lowest number since 2008. Even the procession in 2020, at the height of the COVID pandemic, featured some 13,000 soldiers. Last May, more than a month into the invasion of Ukraine, 11,000 troops took part in...

… CalMatters created an interactive tool for calculating how much a person is owed, using formulas in the task force’s final reports and how long a person lived in California during the periods of racial harm. For instance, a 19-year-old who moved to California in 2018 would be owed at least $149,799 based on the calculations, but a 71-year-old who has lived in California all their life could be owed about $1.2 million. On the other hand, an eligible 28-year-old Californian who moved out of state in 2012 and just moved back could be due around $348,507, according to the...

VIDEOSteve Cortes went Judas Iscariot and endorsed Ron DeSantis for President. However, most of us know poor Steve's sad, inevitable fate. It will be much like what happened to Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV in 1077 A.D. after he was excommunicated by Pope Gregory VII and was forced to humbly appear at the gates of Canossa Castle to beg forgiveness of the Pope on his knees barefoot for three days and three nights clad only in wretched woolen garments. We can expect something similar to happen next year in 2024 when Judas Iscariot Cortes will be forced to arrive at...

Rising interest rates have put a chill on real estate sales across the country, but an added factor has put the freeze on the Los Angeles luxury housing market. Last fall L.A. voters approved a measure known as the “mansion tax” (formally referred to as United for Housing L.A. or ULA) to “fund affordable housing projects and provide resources to tenants at risk of homelessness,” according to the Los Angeles Office of Finance. Ever since it went into effect luxury home sales have stalled out in the city. Starting on April 1, the measure instituted a 5.5 percent charge on...

The Harm Caused by MasksA new study suggests that the excess carbon dioxide breathed in by mask-wearers can have major health consequences.Evidence continues to mount that mask mandates were perhaps the worst public-health intervention in modern American history. While concluding that wearing masks “probably makes little or no difference” in preventing the spread of viruses, a recent Cochrane review also emphasized that “more attention should be paid to describing and quantifying the harms” that may come from wearing masks. A new study from Germany does just that, and it suggests that the excess carbon dioxide breathed in by mask-wearers may...

Last Friday, an HK MP5 machine gun was stolen from LoneStar Handgun, a shooting range in Bexar (that’s pronounced “bear,” like the furry animal that poops in the woods and flies space ships with Han Solo in Star Wars) County, Texas. According to the KENS5 news video below, “the [shooting range] owner fears it could end up in the wrong hands.” Um, yes, I think that ship has sailed with the person who knowingly stole the gun when the range employee’s back was turned. The female shooting range customer rented a handgun, did a little shooting, then came back to...

Last week, the Supreme Court agreed to hear a case about commercial fishing that raises an issue the current members of the Court have been very interested in as of late—Chevron Deference. With the Court agreeing to hear the case, there has been a lot of speculation about what the end of Chevron may mean across the legal landscape. But what might it mean for gun rights? First, it’s important to understand what Chevron Deference is. Chevron, as it’s not-so-affectionately called among legal circles, is a doctrine that was established by the Supreme Court in Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense...

ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin told her co-hosts Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” that she was “ashamed” U.S. Marine veteran Daniel Penny allegedly killed Jordan Neely with a chokehold on the New York subway after Neely was screaming and acting erratically. Co-host Joy Behar said, “My understanding is, if you go past eight seconds of the chokehold, the person is dead. Now, this marine should have known that. But maybe he made a mistake. Maybe he went too long, and this poor kid died.”

MSNBC contributor Donny Deutsch said Tuesday on “Morning Joe” that something was wrong with people who still support former President Donald Trump. Referring to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll in which President Donald Trump would beat President Biden in a head-to-head matchup in 2024, Deutsch said, “What do we get against this backdrop of this, Donald Trump beating Biden by seven points? What’s wrong with this country, what’s wrong with us? This is a guy is charged with rape. You’ll see three, four indictments, we see two impeachments, we see he led an insurrection and yet Republicans follow like...
