According to Egypt Independent, Mahmoud al-Semary demanded that all legal measures be taken against those responsible for the documentary and the management of the streaming platform for its participation in “this crime.” He also called for an investigation and for Netflix to be blocked in Egypt. The complaint submitted against the streaming platform said that "most of what Netflix platform displays contradicts Islamic and societal values...

A group of Democratic lawmakers and the Patriotic Millionaires, an organization of high-income and high net worth individuals favoring higher taxes on the wealthy, are calling on Congress to pass a 90% income tax on incomes above $100 million as fears of a recession are growing. Abigail Disney, a documentary filmmaker who is the granddaughter of Roy Disney, cofounder of The Walt Disney Company, joined the lawmakers to call for higher taxes on "extremely high income." "My grandfather paid a 90% marginal tax rate on his income, and he amassed plenty of wealth in the process," she said at a...

Two liberal organizations describing themselves as "radical feminist" groups have entered a surprising partnership in their effort to protect women's rights. This week, Women's Liberation Front and Women's Declaration International USA broke with the President Biden and joined congressional Republicans in support of H.R. 734, or the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, a bill that would prevent biological males from participating in women's sports. Speaking with Fox News Digital on Wednesday, Kara Dansky, the President of Women’s Declaration International USA, said her nonpartisan organization was "devoted to advancing the Declaration on Women's Sex-Based Rights, which, according to...

BALTIMORE — A transgender woman is suing the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Corrections (DPSCS) over alleged mistreatment while being held in custody. Back in 2021 Chelsea Gilliam was arrested in Baltimore City on an assault charge. Gilliam claims the department refused to accept her legally changed name and gender identity. Before her trial Gilliam says she spent three months incarcerated in an all male dormitory at the Baltimore City Correctional Center, all while being denied hormone treatment. During that period of time, Gilliam also alleges being harassed by staff and sexually assaulted by another inmate. Despite reporting the...

The violation of religious freedom is simultaneously a violation of democratic norms and procedures. The protection of all all communities regardless of religion or ethnicity is mandatory if a country is to be considered democratic. After the 9/11 attacks, the United States made sure that American Muslims would be protected following the mass slaughter of Americans. Democracies protect individuals and communities that have nothing to do with the actions of a small number of radicals and extremists. Governments that target entire communities are fascist or authoritarian at the very least. For example, Nazi Germany targeted the Jewish community for persecution...

Something refreshing happened this week in Washington, D.C., and that was the rare showing of unity among all factions of Republicans in the Senate on the issue of “temporarily” replacing Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on the Judiciary Committee. As we reported Tuesday, the Senate GOP followed through with their promise to block the proposed Schumer/Feinstein plan to seat another Democratic Senator on the committee for what presumably would be a short time until Feinstein, who has been in California for several weeks dealing with a prolonged shingles battle, is able to return. Throughout this entire saga, Sen. Majority Leader Chuck...

A North Carolina surgical clinic has allegedly removed the breasts of girls as young as 14 years old in double mastectomy procedures. Pictures of results from the operations recently began circulating on Twitter. The patients’ ages are also listed under the images, with some of the girls being as young as 14 and 16. The children appear to have visited the Cosmetic Concierge, a plastic surgery clinic located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Double mastectomies, in which patients have their breasts removed, are used as part of the “gender-affirming care” regimen. The procedure is often referred to as “top surgery.” Under...

Former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake is warning her supporters that those who oppose her politically are angling to take legal action against her. In a short fundraising note, Lake claimed that “The establishment wants to ARREST ME for” exposing what she has claimed is election fraud in her state. She made the same claim last month in a tweet that contained headlines from online news sources indicating she could be indicted. Advertisement “They want to ARREST me for exposing fraud in the 2022 Election. Now, the AZ Supreme Court has ruled that the very fraud I highlighted has...

Russian President defies reports of counter offensives to personally deliver Easter greetings to the troops. In the second time in as many months, Russian President Vladimir Putin made a visit to the newly annexed areas of Kherson and Lugansk, having visited Mariupol last month. He traveled by helicopter in spite of threats of a spring counter offensive by Ukrainian forces to receive personally progress reports from the military authorities in the regions, demonstrating that Russia is in control of these regions and no threat is serious enough to prevent him visiting at will. After receiving progress reports, the President congratulated...

A Washington State middle school has been slammed as 'disgusting' after it hosted a bizarre licking game between students and staff. Shocking footage showed the outlandish competition at Desert Hills Middle School in Kennewick, Washington, where schoolkids and their adult teachers were tasked with licking marshmallow cream off either side of a plexiglass pane at the same time. Horrified students, some of whom recorded the game and showed their parents, can be heard in the video screaming 'Ew', 'Disgusting' and 'That's so gross'. After the disturbing footage was circulated, outraged parents have hit out at the middle school, with many...

The saga of the Anheuser-Busch promotional debacle continues to swirl, with mounting boycotts and a growing tide of counter-activism taking place. Ted Lieu and Adam Schiff posed with Bud Light bottles in hand, looking about as natural doing so as Dylan Mulvaney looks like a natural woman. (Seriously, I’d be more inclined to turn away from a brand due to a Ted Lieu endorsement than I would a dude cosplaying as an overcaffeinated high schooler.)

One of ESPN's biggest stars has spoken out against the Biden administration's plan to reform rules around transgender participation in sport - breaking with her network and arguing that allowing trans women to compete alongside biological women was unfair. ESPN has been supportive of trans women in competition, and last month included transgender swimmer Lia Thomas in their segment devoted to Women's History Month. But Samantha Ponder, host of Sunday NFL Countdown, said she did not agree with trans women in competition. She spoke out amid a heated debate sparked by the Biden administration's proposed reform of Title IX. Title...

Police have agreed to relax bail conditions preventing a Catholic woman from praying in public following her second arrest outside an abortion facility. Isabel Vaughan-Spruce was arrested for praying outside the British Pregnancy Advisory Service clinic in Station Road, Birmingham. It came just two weeks after a judge in the city ruled that she had committed no offence the first time she was arrested. West Midlands Police then imposed bail conditions which included a ban on her praying publicly – even outside the 150 metre buffer zone imposed around the clinic by Birmingham City Council in autumn last year. The...

WASHINGTON (OSV News) — A leading Catholic lawmaker and religious freedom advocate has called on the Biden administration to support the U.S. Archdiocese for the Military Services in a dispute over a long-running Catholic pastoral care contract that a leading U.S. military medical center awarded to a secular defense contractor. Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, issued an April 4 “cease and desist” order to Holy Name College Friary, a community of Franciscan priests and brothers in Silver Spring, Maryland, who have served service members and veterans at Walter Reed for nearly two decades. The military archdiocese...

Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.) has finally returned to Capitol Hill, having spent most of his tenure as a U.S. senator at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center being treated for clinical depression.(snip) His May 2022 stroke left him incapacitated for weeks, and he was lucky to survive. Despite this, he chose to continue campaigning, which could have potentially led to permanent brain damage, according to those close to him. Despite his prolonged period away from the Senate, it doesn’t appear that he’s experienced any improvement in his recovery from his stroke, and that was abundantly clear from watching him chair...

Virginia Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine, a self-professed Catholic, also ‘helped connect Bishops with the FBI’ to discuss the issue.Virginia (LifeSiteNews) — Virginia Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine, Hillary Clinton’s running mate in the 2016 presidential election, defended the FBI’s monitoring of Latin Mass Catholics, according to a Sunday report. Former FBI special agent Kyle Seraphin released a bombshell memo in February from the agency’s Richmond, Virginia, office asserting that “violent extremists” were taking an interest in “Radical Traditionalist Catholic (RTC) Ideology” and that this presented “new opportunities for threat mitigation” via undercover sources. Earlier this month, the FBI admitted to U.S....

Egyptian experts have criticized Netflix for “blackwashing” its upcoming docu-series about Queen Cleopatra VII. Now, they’re taking action to see that the show never airs — by banning the streaming giant from the country completely. “African Queens: Queen Cleopatra” is narrated and executive produced by Jada Pinkett Smith, 51, and stars Adele James, 27, who is biracial, as the legendary queen of Egypt, whose specific race has long been the subject of historical dispute. Pinkett Smith previously explained that she wanted to be involved in the project because she “really wanted to represent Black women.” But Egyptologist Zahi Hawass, who...

Recently, a ridiculously wimpy $29 ham and cheese sandwich from Eli Zabar’s E.A.T. on the Upper East Side went viral for its absurd price tag, which made the $5 pizza slices at Fini in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, seem like a relative bargain. It’s just the latest insult to New Yorkers’ wallets, which have been hit by skyrocketing pricing everywhere from the movie theater to the local barbershop. A can of craft beer is nearing $10, a shoe shine will run you $15 and a dry cleaning trip will end up taking you to the cleaners. Sure, NYC has never been a...
