Canada's population grew by over a million people for the first time ever last year, the government has said. The country's population increased from 38,516,138 to 39,566,248 people, Statistics Canada said. It also marked Canada's highest annual population growth rate - 2.7% - since 1957. The increase was in part fuelled by government efforts to recruit migrants to the country to ease labour shortages, Statistics Canada said. The country also depends on migration to support an ageing population. But Statistics Canada said the surge in the number of permanent and temporary immigrants could "also represent additional challenges for some regions...

The office of then-Vice President Joe Biden tried to quash a Bloomberg News story about Hunter Biden at the younger Biden's firm's request, according to 2015 emails published Wednesday. Emails obtained by America First Legal (AFL) through its ongoing lawsuit against the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), showed a close relationship between the vice president's office, Hunter Biden's longtime business partner and the media. On Dec. 8, 2015, The New York Times ran an article saying the "credibility of the vice president’s anticorruption message may have been undermined" by Hunter’s serving on the board of Burisma Holdings with its...

The Newport News Sheriff’s Office says that two inmates, aged 37 and 43, went missing from their cell in the Newport News jail annex during a routine head count on Monday evening. The men used improvised tools made from a toothbrush and a metal object to exploit a weakness in the jail’s construction design and access rebars between the walls. They then used the rebar to further their escape and scaled a containment wall around the jail. The authorities sought the public’s help to locate the men, and they were subsequently apprehended early Tuesday at an IHOP restaurant in Hampton,...

The insult against women continues as USA Today chose to honor a man as one of their “women of the year.” This time, biological male, state representative Leigh Finke who “transitioned” in 2017 made the short list of so-called heroic women. Finke was only elected last November but has been described as an activist for BLM and LGBTQ causes. The Gateway Pundit reported on her historic win back in November. Alongside Leigh were actual women such as Michelle Obama, and astronaut Colonel Nicole Mann. The intentional destruction and erasure of women is nothing new in this country. In 2015 Caitlyn...

The grand jury that will vote out an indictment on Donald Trump — or not — isn’t sitting today, delaying DA Alvin Bragg’s big moment in the sun of getting to arrest the former president. Trump has reportedly told aides that as long as he’s going to be arrested and processed, he may as well make a “spectacle” of the event. He has allegedly made it known to several aides that he wants to be handcuffed and perp-walked into the courthouse. Trump believes that refusing special treatment — a “remote” surrender or him arriving at the courthouse surreptitiously — would...
