"'Anti-Nebraska' men included anti-slavery Whigs, Democrats, Free Soilers, reformers, and abolitionists." Alvin Earle Bovay, an attorney and co-founder of Ripon College, was incensed...

A day later, they were again questioned — now by the FSB, Russia’s security service. “For three-and-a-half hours, they told me that I am not raising my daughter right and said they’ll take her away from me, and put me in jail,” Moskalyov told the outlet OVD-Info. Spooked, the family moved away to a nearby town. But in December, the FSB came knocking again. In Moskalyov’s telling, they raided his home, beat him and forced him to listen to the Russian anthem at full volume for hours. He was again charged with discrediting the Russian army on social media, now...

A large study of women with rheumatoid arthritis has found that those taking oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) had a greater chance of achieving remission. The study revealed the following: Pre-menopausal women (those still experiencing a regular menstrual cycle) reported fewer RA symptoms than peri-menopausal (irregular or infrequent periods) or post-menopausal women with RA. RA patients using HRT or oral contraceptives in combination with the drugs prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis had a much greater likelihood of remission. Post-menopausal women, comprising 63% of the participants, of whom only 8% were using HRT, were less likely to achieve RA remission...

Consuming a diet rich in vitamin A or its analogs may help prevent children and young adults with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) reduce their risk of developing painful pancreas inflammation during chemotherapy treatment. For people with ALL, treatment with the enzyme asparaginase helps starve cancer cells by reducing the amount of asparagine circulating in the blood, which the cancer cells need but cannot make themselves. The medication, often used in combination with other chemotherapies, is given via injection into a vein, muscle, or under the skin. However, an estimated 2% to 10% of asparaginase users develop inflammation of the pancreas...

It’s just the flu, bro. Three years ago was the first “It’s just the flu, bro” thread. The threads were daily for a year and a half or so, but now it is an annual update. For this annual update, like future updates, we must remember: 1. we told you so, and 2. the literal and broader side effects of lockdowns, masks and mandatory vaccines are continuing to appear. Human fertility is down since all of this started. I am not sure how much is due to couples avoiding pregnancy due to fear and how much is due to the...

ORLANDO, Florida — U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy lit into leftist Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg at a press conference as House Republicans gathered to discuss and formulate their 2023 agenda plans, with looming likely charges from Bragg against former President Donald Trump coming this week. Asked by Breitbart News during the press conference, as the House GOP wrapped the first day of its three-day retreat, what he would say to the 75 million Americans who voted for Trump in the 2020 presidential election, McCarthy said his message is even broader than that. “I wouldn’t just talk to 75 million...

One of the benefits of being a Washington insider, from the president of the United States to the lowliest bureaucrat, is never having to admit your policies are wrong. In the case of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) - the nation's 10th largest - the financial policy chickens of this, and previous administrations, have predictably come home to roost. Record debt, massive new spending, and the failure of regulators to see what was coming contributed to the run on SVB. It didn't help that in 2018 President Donald Trump signed the biggest rollback of Dodd-Frank bank regulations since the global financial...

It is good that people are starting to realize the deception in the world of politics, specifically Republican politics, by watching what is not done, who does not speak, and what is not being said in the aftermath of a visible effort to indict President Trump by a politically motivated New York district attorney. The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence; however, the silence tells you something very specific when it comes to politics. The corrupt and manipulative political system is designed to test opinion, that is what most professional politicians do before they take a position. In essence,...

No surprise here, why even ask. I first asked "Is Joe Biden a good person" and it sent back all his 'accomplishments' and then his tragedies and how the poor boy is criticized. Oh boo hoo! NOTHING about any of his scandals. I then ask the same about Trump and got back a list of bias articles from the NY Slimes, CNN and the Washington compost. I posted both below.....

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said on Sunday that an indictment won't help Donald Trump, countering the former president's claims that it'll only make him more popular. While discussing Trump's possible indictment for hush-money payments to adult actress Stormy Daniels, Christie said on ABC's "This Week" that Trump thrives on conflict but only when he's behind the narrative reins. "The circus continues. I mean, look, he only profits and does well in chaos and turmoil. And so he wants to create the chaos and turmoil on his terms," Christie said. "He doesn't want anybody else's terms … He wants...
