Wipe personal debt, provide $97K guaranteed incomes and homes for just $1 - and no one asks how city will foot the bill Plans to provide a $5 million lump sum and $1 homes to black residents of San Francisco as reparations were given vociferous support on Tuesday at a public hearing of the Board of Supervisors - despite the un-costed plan likely to sink the struggling city, where a $728 million deficit is already predicted over the next two fiscal years. Black residents are eligible if they meet two of eight criteria - among them, being locked up or...

“You’ll never get a clue what’s being done to, and within, this country from the complicit “mainstream” media. But a KGB expert who defected to the good guys was explaining it for us back in the 80s. Yuri Bezmenov tried to warn us” Former KGB Officer Yuri Bezmenov Explains Our Four Stages, The Conservative Treehouse, Feb. 2013)KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov was a foreign correspondent for Soviet media in the West and a KGB officer who defected to Canada. In compelling language he lays out the process of ideological subversion that the United States has been undergoing for more than 50...

The U.S. Air Force this month launched an effort to hire a handful of senior-level diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) managers and is hoping to place these officials in posts across the country, from Washington, D.C., to Alaska. Each post pays at least $82,000 per year, and the top position at the Pentagon could pay more than $180,000 per year. The Air Force declined to respond to questions for Fox News Digital about how many senior-level DEI officials work for the Air Force or how many more positions it’s looking to fill this year. But the Air Force has put...

President Biden participated in a second reception this week for the Democratic National Committee in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he urged those in attendance to take climate change more seriously. Just one day after a fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe, California, where Biden accidentally revealed a previously unknown detail about former President Jimmy Carter’s health, he made a number of off-the-cuff comments about climate change including one about the Colorado River drying up. "You’re not going to be able to drink out of the Colorado River," Biden said to a crowd of about 60 people. He also likened climate change...

The 2015 paper published by UNC Chapel Hill Professor Ralph Baric et al. titled A SARS-like cluster of circulating bat coronaviruses shows potential for human emergence. As the authors (including Zhengli-Li Shi at the Wuhan Institute of Virology) state in their abstract: "Here we examine the disease potential of a SARS-like virus, SHC014-CoV, which is currently circulating in Chinese horseshoe bat populations1. Using the SARS-CoV reverse genetics system2, we generated and characterized a chimeric virus expressing the spike of bat coronavirus SHC014 in a mouse-adapted SARS-CoV backbone. The results indicate that group 2b viruses encoding the SHC014 spike in a...

Former President Trump on Monday opened the door on what might be the nastiest primary fight yet, lashing out at acolyte-turned-rival Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida who is widely seen as his most powerful rival for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Eight years removed from a 2016 GOP primary where he regularly mocked would-be rivals such as “low-energy” Jeb Bush and “lyin’” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Trump ahead of a visit to Iowa told reporters on his plane that he regretted endorsing DeSantis during his 2018 bid for governor. Later in the evening, he used a speech in Davenport...

The one year I don’t go to the movies, the Asians dominate the 95th Academy Awards. The film Everything Everywhere All at Once scored seven wins, including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay. I have yet to see the film, but any movie that combines the immigrant experience with the multiverse (not MCU) must be quite the trip. The plot revolves around a Chinese immigrant laundromat worker who must set things right in several parallel universes featuring herself to avoid a calamity. It has historic for actress Michelle Yeoh, the first Asian woman to win in...

For patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma, progression-free survival and overall survival are improved with lenvatinib plus pembrolizumab versus sunitinib, according to a study. Toni K. Choueiri, M.D. and colleagues conducted a protocol-prespecified updated overall survival analysis of the phase 3 CLEAR trial. Patients with clear-cell advanced renal cell carcinoma who had not received any systemic anticancer therapy were eligible and randomly assigned to receive lenvatinib plus pembrolizumab, lenvatinib plus everolimus, or sunitinib (355, 357, and 357, respectively). This updated analysis did not report on patients in the lenvatinib plus everolimus group. The median follow-up for progression-free survival was 27.8...

Florida Democrat Representative Anna Eskamani did her part in kicking off the Pride at the Capitol activities by stepping up to the mic and announcing that the legislation the group is protesting is “erasing trans babies”. Yes, you read that correctly: Erasing. Trans. Babies. Take a listen to the jaw-dropping statement at the 0:18 mark: Let’s pretend for a moment that there even is such a thing as trans babies. How could you tell if a baby was trans? How would trans babies communicate their trans status? Do they cry when you put them in a color traditionally associated with...

This year, Uncle Sam will take his cut of the past year’s earnings on April 18. Many taxpayers are undoubtedly wondering how this year’s Tax Day will affect their finances, as a lot of people are still struggling financially as a result of the pandemic. Since the tax code is so complicated and has rules based on individual household characteristics, it’s hard for the average person to tell how they will be impacted. One simple ratio known as the “tax burden” helps cut through the confusion. Unlike tax rates, which vary widely based on an individual’s circumstances, tax burden measures...

Patients with "blinding" headaches known as Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension (IIH) could be treated with an injectable peptide used for type 2 diabetes, a new trial has found. The study reports on a phase two trial of a drug called exenatide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, as a potential treatment for IIH. The IIH Pressure Trial found that for the seven patients who received regular injections of the drug, currently approved for use in Type 2 Diabetes, led to a drop in pressure in the brain during both short (2.5hrs and 24hrs) and long term (12 weeks) measurements. The trial also saw...

Yesterday I wrote about the possible end of the Bay Area Rapid Transit train system (BART). Ridership on BART trains dropped dramatically during the pandemic and hasn’t recovered to even half of pre-pandemic levels. That puts the Bay Area in a financial bind with just two possible outcomes. Either the state of California steps up with hundreds of millions of dollars per year to subsidize the system or BART will have to dramatically scale back operations, shutting down entire lines, closing stops laying off most workers and reducing train service to once an hour.Today the LA Times published a story...
