It seems as if the Hollywood elites cannot make it through one public appearance without regurgitating at least one woke talking point. Another such instance happened at Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles when actress Sally Field took the stage to accept her lifetime achievement award -- and almost immediately turned it into an apology for being white. "I was a little white girl with a pug nose born in Pasadena, California," she said, "and when I look around this room tonight, I know my fight, as hard as it was, was lightweight compared to some of...

Democratic Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot blamed racism and her gender for her landslide defeat in her re-election bid, as Chicagoans weary of the rising crime on her watch celebrated her fall from “political rock star to rock bottom.” “I’m a black woman in America. Of course,” she replied when asked by a reporter if she had been treated unfairly. But she called being Chicago’s mayor “the honor of a lifetime.” “Regardless of tonight’s outcome, we fought the right fights and we put this city on a better path,” Lightfoot said, as she urged her fellow mayors around the US not...

If the climate crisis wasn’t already screaming “scam” then I can’t help you. Leftists are pushing an agenda to destroy industries that produce reasonably priced energy by claiming those industries cause an existential threat of warming, that is causing extreme changes to the climate, that is threatening our survival. Record cold temperatures, along with record snow and rain are obviously causing skepticism, so the pushers of the theory decided it was necessary to put out a piece of pure propaganda: that record cold temperatures occur because the earth is warming. I call B.S. From David Knowles in an article published...

AFP) — Pressure is mounting on Ukrainian forces as fighting for the eastern frontline city of Bakhmut is getting ever more brutal with Russia losing hundreds of troops a day, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday. As the battle raged, Moscow said it shot down Ukrainian drones targeting civilian sites in Russian territory while another one crashed near the capital. AFP aerial footage released Tuesday showed almost all buildings in Bakhmut in ruins and smoke rising over the city once known for its sparkling wine production and salt mines.

NASA obtained new information from the exploded Tycho Supernova, which was first seen from Earth in 1752. Photo courtesy of NASA Feb. 28 (UPI) -- A group of scientists has uncovered new information from a star that exploded more than 450 years ago, propelling particles to near the speed of light. Astronomers used NASA's Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer to study the remains of a supernova called Tycho. They were able to discover how Tycho accelerates particles closer to the speed of light than any particle accelerator on Earth. "As one of the so-called historical supernovae, Tycho was observed by humanity...

Western embassies including the United States and Australia have advised their citizens in the country to stock up on “several days worth” of food and water and be on high alert during extended blackouts sweeping the country. Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) said in an interview this week that literally hundreds of Democrat U.S. lawmakers are apprehensive about President Joe Biden being the party’s nominee heading into the 2024 presidential race, but that they are too afraid to say anything. Phillips’ remarks come after multiple polls have found that Democrat voters do not want Biden to be the party’s nominee again for a variety of reasons, including unfavorable economic conditions, skyrocketing inflation rates, disastrous foreign policy decisions, and the general view among some that he is too old and not mentally fit for office. “This is not a...

A conflict over what it means to be Christian is forcing a school in Kansas City, Missouri, to close. Urban Christian Academy is a private, K-8 school with an enrollment of 100 that describes itself as providing "a tuition-free, high-quality, Christ-centered education for low-income students." The school’s mission statement has always stressed inclusivity in general terms, noting that following Jesus "opens up doors and makes room at the table." But last year it added a paragraph to its website, which read in part, "We are an affirming school. We stand with the LGBTQIA+ community and believe in their holiness. We...

Today’s mortgage application (demand) numbers from the Mortgage Bankers Association was disappointing to say the least. Mortgage purchase demand just sank to it lowest level since 1995. Typically, mortgage purchase applications peak in May or June of each year before beginning their annual lemmings drive downwards. But this year is seeing a early turn for the worse. The unadjusted Purchase Index decreased 3 percent compared with the previous week and was 44 percent lower than the same week one year ago. The Refinance Index decreased 6 percent from the previous week and was 74 percent lower than the same week...

Ron DeSantis took aim at “an arrogant, stale, and failed ruling class” as he teased a 2024 presidential run in a memoir that hit number one as it went on sale on Tuesday. The Florida Governor said his record in office could serve as a “blueprint for governance” nationwide as he railed against leftist-elites who control US institutions. He invoked Winston Churchill in his book’s epigraph, quoting the wartime leader saying: “Courage is rightly considered the foremost of virtues, for upon it, all others depend.” Mr DeSantis, 44, is widely expected to challenge Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination...

Archaeologists working on the famed Easter Island have unearthed a previously unknown statue while excavating a dry lake bed. The newly discovered statue is one of the Moai, the well-known megalithic statues believed to have been carved by Polynesian tribes between the 10th and 16th centuries. “We think we know all the moai, but then a new one turns up, a new discovery,” archaeologist Dr. Terry Hunt told Good Morning America (GMA) Feb. 25. Hunt teaches archaeology at the University of Arizona and has been studying the statues and the Rapa Nui for 20 years. “The moai are important because...

A new patent allows Ford to build cars that take action if the owner falls behind on payments by playing annoying sounds – or even driving themselves back to the seller.Ford has been granted a patent for a system that allows a car to repossess itself if its owner fails to keep up with payments. The firm envisions the car driving itself back to the showroom – or to a scrapyard if the value of the car is low. But a security expert warns that the proposed system could instead be used to steal cars remotely. The patent, which was...

Monday’s big news that COVID came from a Chinese bio weapons lab and not a wet market offering tasty morsels of bat meat and pangolin tenders has been greeted by some with justifiable skepticism. Bernard at Moon of Alabama, for example, is certain that this is just a propaganda move by the U.S., which is trying to whip up public support for an eventual war with China.

A little known, though highly controversial, Islamic teaching is back in the news. According to a Feb. 21, 2023 report, Diyanet, Turkey’s highest religious (and therefore Islamic) institution: ...opened a special section on its fatwa website about earthquakes and answered the question of “Can children of earthquake victims be adopted?” The fatwa stated that it is not right for foster families to treat adopted children like their own children and that “there is no barrier to marriage between the adopter and the adopted child.” The fatwa mounted criticism on social media and many public figures reacted against the Diyanet’s response....

What’s left of the Bush-Cheney wing of the Republican Party doesn’t like Ron DeSantis. But it’s eager to see him run for president anyway. For if DeSantis challenges Trump for the 2024 GOP nomination, the old establishment stands to gain no matter who ultimately gets the nod. The Florida governor certainly seems to be ideologically closer to Trump-style populism than to the neoconservatism that prevailed among elite Republicans from the end of the Reagan era to the defeat of Mitt Romney in 2012. Why, then, would those who pine for the likes of Bush and Romney want to see a...
