Arkansas senators passed legislation restricting where drag shows can be held, proposing to classify them in the same manner as strip clubs and adult theaters. The bill passed on a 26-9 party line on Tuesday, with the six senators opposing the bill being Democrats. The bill would ban drag shows from being hosted on public property. When asked if Republican Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders supports the bill, spokeswoman Alexa Henning said that kids need to be protected, but didn’t signal if the governor would sign the bill. “Governor Sanders believes we need to be protecting and educating kids, not indoctrinating...

“In Pennsylvania, the people should decide what path is best for them, not have it decided by some arbitrary requirement or any arbitrary limitation,” Shapiro said during the executive order signing ceremony last week. What Shapiro did is a great idea, and any states that have not already done this should follow suit. Regardless of whether a politician is a Democrat or a Republican, they should care about the credentialism plaguing our workforce. Arbitrary degree requirements are an expensive barrier to entry that disproportionately affect the working class. In a country where people carry nearly $2 trillion in student loan...

The U.S. Department of Justice and eight states have filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google, calling for a breakup of the search-giant's advertising technology business. The lawsuit argues that Google has "corrupted legitimate competition" by taking control of a "wide swath of high-tech tools used by publishers, advertisers and brokers to facilitate digital advertising.” Filed in a federal court in Virginia on Tuesday, the suit calls for the unwinding of Google's “anticompetitive acquisitions,” such as its 2007 purchase of ad-tool maker DoubleClick. The company is expected to earn about $66 billion in digital ad revenue in the U.S. this year,...

Chicago — Two men on electronic monitoring for separate felony gun cases live-streamed themselves driving around Chicago while brandishing a gun, prosecutors said as they announced new gun charges against both men. Judge Susana Ortiz ordered Keonte Henson, 23, and Myron Westley, 22, held without bail during a court hearing Tuesday afternoon. She noted “the brazenness of advertising this act to the entire world.” Westley was on electronic monitoring for a pending unlawful possession of a machine gun charge after being allegedly caught with an automatic weapon during a “large group” disturbance in the Loop last spring. Henson was placed...

U.S. oil refining margins, also known as the 3-2-1 crack spread, jumped to a three-month high on Tuesday — and that’s an indication the country faces an ongoing product shortage that might lead to higher gasoline and diesel prices at the pump. The 3-2-1 crack spread is a great indicator to gauge fuel product tightness. High spreads indicate gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products are in short supply, while low spreads mean an abundance of supply. Spread direction is also important — if rising, it would mean fuel inventories are declining. The simple calculation of refining margins is...

The Environmentalist Assault on CivilizationWith prosperity, we can adapt as we always have. With tyranny, we can do nothing. Climate alarmism is tyranny with green wrapping, delivered with terror. No reasonable person would deny the importance of protecting the environment. The accomplishments of the environmental movement over the past 50 years are undeniable: cleaner air and water, protected wildernesses, and more efficient use of resources. The list is endless and illustrious. Environmentalist values are an integral part of any responsible public policy agenda. But the pendulum has swung too far.Environmentalism, which once challenged corporate power, is now its useful puppet. And...

One of the bigger questions surrounding NASA’s interest in sending a crewed mission to Mars surrounds the best way to get there, and it appears the agency might have found its answer. NASA announced today that it will be developing a nuclear thermal rocket engine in collaboration with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The collaboration is called DRACO, or Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operations, and it’s expected to reduce the travel time it takes to get astronauts to Mars—and potentially more distant targets in deep space. According to a press release, NASA will lead technical development of...

California Gov. WASHINGTON (AP) — At least three presidents. A vice president, a secretary of state, an attorney general. The mishandling of classified documents is not a problem unique to President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. It’s been a problem off and on for decades, from presidents to Cabinet members and staff across multiple administrations stretching as far back as Jimmy Carter. The issue has taken on greater significance since Trump willfully retained classified material at his Florida estate, prompting the unprecedented FBI seizure of records last year. It turns out former officials from all levels of government discover they...

Editor’s Note: This article has been updated to include comment from a DirecTV spokesperson confirming Newsmax’s end of availability on the satellite TV provider. DirecTV dropped Newsmax, a conservative-leaning cable news channel, Tuesday night following what the satellite TV provider claimed were failed negotiations regarding fees, a spokesperson confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “On multiple occasions, we made it clear to Newsmax that we wanted to continue to offer the network, but ultimately Newsmax’s demands for rate increases would have led to significantly higher costs that we would have to pass on to our broad customer base,” a...

Vice President Kamala Harris is traveling to California on Wednesday in the wake of several mass shootings that have shocked the state and the nation — but which defy talking points about gun control or extremism. The Los Angeles Times reports: Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Monterey Park on Wednesday to honor the victims of one of the three mass shootings that have left her home state reeling this week. Harris will lay a wreath at a memorial in honor of the 11 people killed by a gunman at a dance studio during a Lunar New Year celebration...
