TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) — An Oklahoma state lawmaker filed two bills in one week with opposing goals. One bill filed by State Rep. Jim Olsen (R-District 2) would lower the age for buying and carrying guns to 18. The other would raise the age for receiving gender-affirming care to 21. Rep. Olsen told NewsChannel 8 he’s a Constitutionalist. He claimed the Founding Fathers would want 18-year-olds to carry guns, but they wouldn’t feel the same about helping people change their biological sex. “You have, in the Constitution, specifically enumerated, your right to keep and bear arms,” he explained. “If you...

Apple has returned to advertising at its normal level on Twitter, according to Elon Musk, who also confirmed Apple is Twitter's biggest ad client. On November 28, Twitter CEO Elon Musk engaged in a tweet-storm against Apple, including claims Apple had "mostly stopped advertising on Twitter." One week later, and Musk has changed his tune. During a Twitter Spaces conversation caught by Bloomberg on Saturday, Musk said Apple has "fully resumed advertising on Twitter." Musk didn't say how much the advertising spend was for Apple, and didn't go much further on the topic, other than to say that Apple was...

To commemorate World AIDS Day on December 1, GLAAD released their 2022 State of HIV Stigma Study, which included some encouraging findings. This four-page study, which has been tracking HIV stigma annually since 2020, focused on Americans’ attitudes and knowledge of HIV. Findings from the study showed around 87 percent of adults agree there is still stigma around HIV. At that, only half of those surveyed felt knowledgeable about HIV.

An 82-year-old woman in Alabama was arrested for failing to pay her trash bill, police said. HEADQUARTERS ARMY OF THE POTOMAC, Wednesday Evening, Dec. 3. At 3 o'clock yesterday morning parts of two companies, numbering in all sixty men, belonging to the Eighth Pennsylvania Cavalry, under command of Capt. WILSON, who were stationed at King George Court House, were attacked by about 300 rebels, who crossed the Rappahannock in small boats, at a point some distance this side of the Court House, thus getting between this command and the main body of the cavalry. Forty out of the sixty escaped, and there is reason to believe that more of them will yet return. Capt. WILSON is...

Anthony Strain was desperate for another roommate. The 26-year-old from Pittsburgh is currently unemployed, $50,000 in debt, and falling behind on his gas and electricity payments. To provide "financial breathing room" and help shoulder their $800 monthly rent, Strain said he and his partner found another person to move in with them and help split the bills. "We wanted this system to minimize the average cost per person of living here," he said, adding that the trio splits the costs of rent, utilities, and subscriptions to streaming platforms. Strain isn't the only young American experiencing financial challenges right now. Amounts...

Iran has scrapped its morality police after more than two months of protests triggered by the arrest of Mahsa Amini for allegedly violating the country's strict female dress code, local media said Sunday. Women-led protests, labelled "riots" by the authorities, have swept Iran since the 22-year-old Iranian of Kurdish origin died on September 16, three days after her arrest by the morality police in Tehran. "Morality police have nothing to do with the judiciary" and have been abolished, Attorney General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency. His comment came at a religious conference where...

Eighty years ago, the Royal Australian Navy won its only Victoria Cross. It was awarded 78 years later, after decades of campaigning by a host of advocates, but primarily as a result of the dedication of Garry Ivory, one of Teddy’s nephews, and the tireless Guy Barnett, a veteran MP from Tasmania. For that was where the 18 year old Ordinary Seaman Sheean had hailed from, but it was north of faraway Darwin where he died, as the corvette HMAS Armidale sank under the torment of a host of Japanese aircraft, bombing, strafing and firing torpedoes. What sort of man was...

Is Elon Musk just trolling at this point? That’s a real possibility given who he’s chosen to give access to the now infamous “Twitter files” surrounding the censorship of the Hunter Biden story. It’s not that the reporters involved aren’t great at their jobs. On the contrary, they are excellent choices in that regard. Rather, it’s the hysterical reactions they elicit. First came Matt Taibbi, who spent Friday evening posting revelations from the document dump. Naturally, he was excoriated by his leftwing colleagues who feel Americans are too stupid to have unfettered access to information. Now, Musk is upping the...

Biden admin claims racial discrimination in college is needed for “national security.”.. The Supreme Court may be on the verge of ending the last vestige of systemic racism. Affirmative action faces its acid test in Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina. At stake is the system of racial discrimination imposed on Asian and white students by Harvard and the University of North Carolina. How could the Biden administration possibly justify racial discrimination in college admissions? National security. In the Biden era, a woke military brass insists that everything is national security, from critical race theory to abortion,...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMatthew 16 Peter Declares That Jesus Is the Messiah 13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” 14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to...

Today my long-awaited energy storage paper was officially published on the website of the Global Warming Policy Foundation. Here is a link. The paper is 22 pages long in the form in which they have published it plus another few pages for an Executive Summary and table of contents. They have given it the title “The Energy Storage Conundrum.” Most of the points made in the paper have been made previously on this blog in one form or another. However, there is a good amount of additional detail in the paper that has never appeared here. I’ll provide one example...

Cognitive dissonance rules the collective mind of the left. As conservatives, we often find ourselves on the receiving end of derision and unfounded castigation; we're slandered with ad hominem attacks, labeled "anti-environmentalists" or "science deniers." Believe that property rights belong to Americans, rather than insects as the Endangered Species Act legislates? Anti-environmentalist! Are you concerned the green agenda might be a thinly disguised attempt to install global communism, given the fact the "green" revolution seems to be meticulously following Marx's instruction for a cultural revolution? Climate change denier! A quick internet search yielded these headlines: Why Republicans Turned Against the...

January confab will focus on the climate hoax and Putin, among new action items. The World Economic Forum (WEF) has released the major themes for its upcoming January 2023 Davos conference. Each year, the WEF brings together a well-connected cadre of powerful public and private individuals and organizations behind heavily secured and invite-only doors for their annual meeting in Switzerland. Through this gathering, the global “elite” is provided a physical space to form narratives and ideas to bolster their power. The WEF is led by a comic book villain-like character in Klaus Schwab, its president. Schwab has dedicated his life to...

Elon Musk and Matt Taibbi just opened up another crack in the door revealing how the FBI and DNC manipulated Twitter in the runup to the election. The media worked hard to bury the FTX scandal. There a young (but well-connected to leftist politicos and media) tech slob Sam Bankman-Fried “lost” eight billion dollars, shelled out at least $40 million to Democrats, is suspected of laundering a lot of taxpayer money through Ukraine, and cloaked his outrageously criminal conduct in the garb of promoting social justice once he realized he could no longer disguise his Ponzi scheme. The gravediggers hardly...
