In the Chinese population, the triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (TG/HDL-C) ratio and the total cholesterol (TC)/HDL-C ratio are associated with an increased risk for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), according to a study.. Chen Zhu and colleagues examined the association between lipid ratios and the risk for BPH in Chinese men who underwent routine check-ups from January 2017 to December 2019. A total of 24,962 men were enrolled in the study. The researchers found that 18.46 percent of the participants were ascertained as incident BPH cases after health examinations for more than two years. Significant associations with BPH risk were...

A Northrop Grumman rocket carrying more than 4 tons of supplies for the International Space Station will have to wait at least one more day to launch after a fire alarm at its mission control center thwarted a liftoff early Sunday (Nov. 6). The Antares rocket was about 10 minutes away from a planned liftoff at 5:50 a.m. EST (1050 GMT) from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on Wallops Island, Virginia, when Northrop Grumman called off the flight. A fire alarm at the company's control center in nearby Dulles, Virginia, forced a building evacuation, preventing launch controllers from going through with...

I must admit that I’ve always been susceptible to the dark charms of jesters, particularly those evil jesters who use cunning and wits to rid themselves of their enemies in politics and at court. Not circus clowns boiling out of a tiny body humor-clown car making with the fart jokes, but jesters. America is awash in jesters now. You see them everywhere. In media and politics. Many are sad. Many panic in silence. They are all Democrats. And that Red Wave is coming for them. The iconic American hero was once The Cowboy, but cultural High Priests had to kill...

CNA Newsroom, Nov 3, 2022 / 15:02 pm The economic crisis in Cuba continues to impact the population, this time affecting Catholics specifically because the lack of wheat flour has meant that no more Communion hosts can be made. The St. Teresa Discalced Carmelite Monastery in Havana announced the news Wednesday. “We inform all the dioceses that there are no longer hosts for sale. We have been working with the little flour that was left and what was in reserve has already run out,” the nuns reported in a statement shared by the Catholic publication Vida Cristiana. “We hope and...

Megyn Kelly did not hold back in her criticisms against now-former MSNBC Tiffany Cross after news broke on Friday her contract was not renewed and she had been abruptly let go by the network. According to Variety, Cross was fired from the network because "executives at the network growing concerned about the anchor’s willingness to address statements made by cable-news hosts on other networks and indulging in commentary executives felt did not meet the standards of MSNBC or NBC News." Cross frequently sparred with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who would often call her out for racially charged statements against...
