Antonovsky Bridge, one of the Russian Army’s lifelines into occupied Kherson, was effectively knocked out of action in a perfectly timed missile strike — just one of many developments on an explosive day in the Ukraine War. What made the strike so timely was the presence of multiple Russian ammo trucks, headed north with supplies for troops in the Kherson region that Kyiv has vowed to take back. The exploding ammo only added to the destruction. https://mobile.twitter.com/lilygrutcher/status/1561720969630289925 https://mobile.twitter.com/PaulJawin/status/1561679383034830849? About 10 trucks loaded with ammunition were driving across the bridge. It's probably the detonation of one of them. Whether that was...

On Aug. 12, a federal court jury in Alabama fired off an unmistakable message to the media and the D.C. swamp: “Stop lying and stop corrupting our elections. There will be consequences if you don’t.” That message was sent in the form of an $8.2 million verdict for defamation in favor of former Alabama Supreme Court Justice and senatorial candidate Roy Moore against a major Democratic player and his allies.

If you wondered why Joe Biden has been absent from the job for the last two weeks, wonder no more. Biden was part of the scheme to raid Donald Trump. Remember how Biden claimed to have no knowledge of the Trump raid? President Joe Biden’s staff claimed Monday they did not know about the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s house at Mar-A-Lago. “No advance knowledge. Some learned from old media some from social media,” a senior White House official told CBS reporter Ed O’Keefe when asked about the raid.Fox News journalist Pat Ward also cited a comment from...

I’m in Bulgaria. It’s the poorest country in the European Union—and the most corrupt. My friends get livid recounting how agency A was supposed to build some bridge, and then just siphoned off tax money to a mafioso and the bridge is never built. But I took the Sofia subway today. It’s clean. It’s on time. The intercoms work perfectly and the announcements come in Bulgarian followed by slightly accented English. To prevent people from falling or being pushed onto the tracks, in busy stations a light metal barrier descends when the train approaches and leaves. To help prevent fare...

A well-known “ethical hacker” who was hired by Twitter to overhaul its cybersecurity alleged that the social media giant has become a security risk for the US after it reneged on a deal with the federal government to set up a system that adequately protects user data. Peiter “Mudge” Zatko — a software engineer who became a star in the hacker community after leading a 1990s-era group called “Cult of the Dead Cow” — filed a complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission alleging widespread dysfunction at Twitter. Zatko was named head of security by Twitter two years ago after...

A former Twitter executive just blew the whistle against the Big Tech platform for allegedly ignoring serious cybersecurity problems and apparently misleading prospective owner Elon Musk on spam bots. Both CNN and The Washington Post released stories documenting explosive allegations by former Twitter head of security Peter “Mudge” Zatko. Zatko’s whistleblower complaint, which both outlets reported was sent to Congress and other federal agencies, warned about “‘extreme, egregious deficiencies’ in its defenses against hackers, as well as its meager efforts to fight spam,” The Post summarized. The complaint itself alleges that Twitter was “Lying about Bots to Elon Musk.” The...

Is there a mole in Mar-a-Lago? In June, federal officials went to Donald Trump’s home with a subpoena. What were they doing there? Scoping it out? Looking for anything they can to blame Trump for January 6th? Watch Mark’s argument against the DOJ, the Democrat Party and the country’s slide toward Marxism.

A 33-year-old man is dead after he was fatally struck by a car when he ran into traffic chasing after a dog. The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon in Kingsport, Tennessee -- about 100 miles northeast of Knoxville -- when the Kingsport Police Department Traffic Unit responded to a call regarding a motor vehicle striking a pedestrian as it travelled north on Lynn Garden Drive, authorities said. It is unclear if the dog belonged to Johnson or what the circumstances were surrounding the incident and how the dog managed to get loose in the first place.

A team of US and Canadian scientists announced that they have been successful in their efforts to recreate the Spanish Flu virus that killed an estimated 25 to 50 million people between 1918 and 1920. Speaking off-the-record, a person close to one of the team members explained that "the recent coronavirus pandemic exposed holes in our knowledge of potential biological weapons. The gain-of-function research on the covid virus conducted in China with funding forwarded by Dr. Fauci was only successful in producing a strain that could reliably kill the old and infirm members of society. Even at that, the rapid...

What makes Red's Donuts, a 72-year-old Monterey institution, stand out among the thousands of independent California doughnut shops? And were they really the purveyors of Betty White’s favorite morning treat? I just had to find out. SNIP There’s a few reasons why Red’s is the place for doughnuts on the Central Coast. It’s old: Red’s started in 1950 on Alvarado Street, the main drag in downtown Monterey, when Hermann “Red” O’Donnell (the nickname came from his shock of auburn hair) bought it for three grand on a whim. It’s original: While a second location, which now houses the baking operation,...

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Democratic Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke declared that women would win back their right to kill unborn children. In Texas, a trigger law that will toughen the penalty on those involved in an illegal abortion is set to begin on Thursday. O’Rourke noted that women of Texas were involved in the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that was used to legalize abortions and predicted the women of Texas would “win it back in 2022.”

As the global economy labors under sky-high energy costs, those costs are bleeding through the entire economy triggering record-setting inflation. One sector being increasingly battered by the high energy prices is the commodities sector, and that is raising prices which will be passed on to consumers through every producer and manufacturer dependent on those commodities to produce their products. The storm hitting commodities will eventually add to the pressures on consumers, and affect investors, as it affects the profitability of the companies who supply products. And things are set to get even worse as winter approaches, and supplies of natural...

According to a growing body of research, many women in long-term relationships are sexually adventurous and have secret lovers. The...

New York (CNN Business)Elon Musk's monthslong effort to buy — and then to get out of buying — Twitter has been marked by a range of unexpected twists. Now, a stunning whistleblower disclosure from the company's former security lead Peiter Zatko is almost certain to become the latest complication. As part of a wide-ranging, nearly 200-page disclosure sent last month to US lawmakers and regulators, which was exclusively reported by CNN and the Washington Post Tuesday, Zatko alleges that Twitter (TWTR) has neither the incentive nor the resources to properly measure the full scope of bots on its platform. He...

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) president Randi Weingarten admitted to sharing a false tweet claiming that certain books were banned in Florida on Sunday. The list, posted by an account called "Freesus Patriot," claimed that Florida has banned books such as, "To Kill a Mockingbird," and "A Wrinkle in Time." The account also tweeted that they would not reveal the source of the list. Weingarten was re-elected to lead the AFT in July, making it her eighth term as AFT president. Weingarten replied to another tweet pointing out that the list was "made up" and said that she should have...

On the internet today, larger tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Amazon can sometimes feel like inescapable presences. Google, in particular, tracks the way you use its search engine and other apps... But the things Google keeps track of can actually extend far further than you might expect, given the prevalence of Google Analytics and Google’s ad networks. In an effort to better understand what kinds of data is sent to Google, where it happens, and when it occurs, developer Bert Hubert — best known as the original creator of PowerDNS — created a new app called “Googerteller.” Googerteller works...

House Oversight Committee chairwoman Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) is pushing legislation that levies a 20 percent tax on AR-15 makers’ revenue. The legislation is called the Firearms Industry Fairness Act. NBC News reports the levy would “impose a 20% tax on the total revenue earned by manufacturers who produce assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.” Maloney tweeted about the legislation on August 22: My Firearm Industry Fairness Act will tax assault weapons manufacturers 20% off ALL revenue and my Firearm Industry Crime and Trafficking Accountability Act will prohibit the selling of guns to retailers if selling leads to a high risk of...
