@RepThomasMassie I have an admission to make. I asked Trump for TWO pardons and a commutation, and I ask the same of Biden. Pardon Julian Assange and Edward Snowden, and commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht. Replying to @RepThomasMassie @ScottAdamsSays Maybe not the Fentanyl guy (Ross Ulbricht) . @RepThomasMassie He doesn’t claim he was innocent, but he’s been over-sentenced for the internet crime he committed - two life sentences + 40 years. The guys who sold drugs using his website are already out of prison. That’s why I believe his sentence should be commuted, instead of pardoning him.

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) acknowledged the possibility of a presidential run in 2024 in an interview with ABC News on Sunday, but said she hasn't "made a decision about that yet." "The single most important thing is protecting the nation from Donald Trump. And I think that that matters to us as Americans more than anything else, and that's why my work on the committee is so important," she said.

Text: A lot of people probably don't want to celebrate our nation right now, and we can't blame them. When there is so much division, hate and unrest, why on earth would you want to have a party celebrating any of it? But in all seriousness, you know in your heart, Fourth of July fireworks are amazing, especially when you are standing in 90° heat, 100% humidity, next to 100,000 of your closest friends. In that moment, something takes over and we all become united in an inexplicable bond. Yes, America is in strife right now, but you know what.…we...

FLATWOODS, KY — According to sources, local man Dave Smithers was struggling to afford food for his July 4th barbecue due to food prices being up over 3272% this season. His luck changed, however, when he realized he still had the 16 cents President Biden helped him save on his barbecue last year. "Thank you, Biden! You're a lifesaver!" said Smithers as he ran to the family safe and carefully removed the 1 dime, 1 nickel, and 1 penny he had stashed away last year for occasions like this. "July 4th is saved! Hallelujah! Build back better!" Other families haven't...

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Saturday Ukraine had tried to strike military facilities on Belarusian territory three days ago, but all its missiles had been intercepted, the state-run Belta news agency reported. Lukashenko, who did not provide evidence for the claim, said Belarus did not want war with Ukraine, but would fight if its own territory was invaded. The Ukrainian military did not immediately comment. "They are provoking us. I have to tell you, three days ago, maybe a bit more, an attempt to strike military facilities on Belarusian territory was made from the territory of Ukraine," Belta quoted...

The Power of Praise. Paul and Silas were beaten for speaking the good news of Jesus Christ. Jesus carried, on the cross, all of mankind's sickness and sin; so when sent to prison, Paul and Silas started to praise God. Jesus took a beating and with a love greater than known or human or expression of love, took the hate and covered it with His blood, satisfying the Lord God Almighty. In the prison, when God heard His children praising Him in spite of horrible circumstances, He sent an earthquake and broke open the chains that bound the two men....

Despite her global fame and crossover success, Dolly Parton never got above her East Tennessee raising, continuing to this day to write songs reflecting values learned in the Smoky Mountains. For God and Country took this a step forward in 2003, comforting a post-9/11 nation with songs reflecting her Christian faith and unwavering patriotism. Parton's fame, flashiness, benevolence and trademark vocal delivery might overshadow a truth for a lot of fans -- she's one of the greatest songwriters, regardless of genre or gender, of the past 50 years. The lesser-known "Color Me America" drives this point home by fitting in...

The Devil opposes abortion. The Lord supports abortion. That is the sick, twisted metaphor of MSNBC's Tiffany Cross. On her Cross Connection show Saturday morning, Cross condemned companies that on the one hand are offering to pay for their employees' travel to states where abortion is legal, but on the other hand, contribute to politicians who are pro-life. Complained Cross: "You can't dance with the Devil and the Lord at the same time."Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Previously, Bezos has criticized the Biden administration over its inflation claims After President Joe Biden called on companies running gas stations to lower the price of gas, Jeff Bezos accused the U.S. president of misleading the public or said he lacked a "basic" understanding of the forces that actually drive prices. "Ouch. Inflation is far too important a problem for the White House to keep making statements like this," Bezos said in a tweet Saturday evening. In the initial tweet, Biden made a direct appeal to gas stations and encouraged them to simply charge less for gasoline. The president urged...

Near the newly-discovered mosque are the ruins of a very different structure: a “strangely magnificent mansion” that may have belonged to wealthy Byzantine Christians, per Haaretz. At around 10,000 square feet, it had frescoed walls, stone pavement, plaster floors and expensive tableware and glassware. The structure also had two ovens, one of which was quite large. Because of its size, along with the fact that it was beside a water cistern, excavation director Elena Kogan-Zehavi hypothesizes that the inhabitants were making soap—which perhaps explains their wealth.“Israel, according to Islamic historians, is one of the areas where soap was made and exported...

When the city of Friendswood, Texas, announced on Facebook that hometown hero Haley Carter would be the grand marshal for the town’s famed Fourth of July parade, the post was peppered with excited comments. Carter, who was in the Marines and is a retired professional soccer player, was just the type of person residents wanted to see lead the parade. Then the right-wing culture warriors showed up. Conservative radio host Jesse Kelly tweeted the same day that Friendswood had appointed a “gun-grabber” who is “into drag” and “trans activism” to lead the parade. Kelly is from Ohio, ran a failed...

Zamfara State in northern Nigeria is suffering from a long-term conflict between mostly Muslim Fulani nomadic herders and mostly Christian Hausa farmers. Zamfara has a population of about ten million, of which about 20% are Fulani and other tribal herders. Disputes between herders and farmers have been accelerated by increasing populations, the ability of herders to breed and treat cattle for “tsetse fly” related diseases, and poor and disputed land titles. While numbers are difficult to validate, hundreds, possibly thousands, have been killed and hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their lands and homes. Armed camps in forested areas, kidnapping,...

ARMY OF THE POTOMAC, ON THE JAMES RIVER, Monday Evening, June 30, 1862. Events of the gravest character have transpired within the last five days, touching the condition and prospects of the army on the Peninsula. Acting under the necessity which the Commanding General has long foreseen, the widely-extended lines of the army, with its miles of well-constructed defences, stretching almost from the James River on the left' to, and beyond the Chickahominy on the right, have been abandoned, and the army before Richmond has fallen back to a more practicable line of defence and attack, upon the James River....

If an intelligent janitor or maid cannot tell the difference between a genuine work of art and an art-world fraud then it is probably a pile of rubbish and should be treated accordingly.

I have just returned from a semi-enjoyable sojourn in London. It was only semi-enjoyable, alas, for my primary purpose in going was to attend the funeral of a good friend who made it to the Biblical span of three-score and 10, but just barely.
