PARIS (AP) — Leaders of three French energy companies on Sunday called on the French public to immediately reduce consumption of fuel, oil, electricity and gas amid shortages and soaring prices due to Russia’s supply cuts and the war in Ukraine. “The effort must be immediate, collective and massive,” the leaders of the three companies, TotalEnergies, EDF and Engie said in a rare joint statement that was published in the French weekly Journal du Dimanche. “Every gesture counts,” the statement said. Russia has cut — and in some case shut off — gas supplies to several European Union countries in...

For Ritchie Herron, a bright and articulate civil servant from Newcastle, life over the past four years has become almost unbearable. It takes him ten minutes to empty his bladder, a process as painful as it is slow. Any sex drive is long gone. In fact, he says, his crotch is numb, ‘shell-shocked’ from the damage done to him under the apparent care of the NHS. ‘Numb’ rather sums up Ritchie’s whole demeanour as he struggles to process what has happened to him. Today he reveals – in an exclusive interview – that he is the man preparing legal action...

Beyond the January 6 committee hearings, Stalinism advances on other fronts. As Thaddeus McCotter contends, the reproduction of a “Stalinist show trial” is now live in Washington. That invites a look at the original production of 1936-1937, from one of the keenest observers at the time. “The Moscow trials, and the purges that followed them, were a turning point in the history of American liberalism, for it was irrevocably polarized by the controversies to which the trials gave rise,” explains the late philosopher Sidney Hook in Out of Step: An Unquiet Life in the Twentieth Century, published in 1987. As...

On one side is the gnashing of teeth, the uninhibited profanity, the shrieking, the obscene gestures, the stripping off of clothing in public, the threat of violence... If ever an action did not have an equal and opposite reaction, this Roe decision from the Supreme Court is it. The Left's reaction to the decision is monumentally top-heavy compared to the action taken by SCOTUS. SNIP The “good” here is the general public attitude on the Right toward bearing children. It is positive. It is geared to promoting childbirth whenever possible. Children are blessings. On one side is the gnashing of...

This Sunday’s Gospel portrays through the life of Jesus some important disciplines for disciples. Let’s look at them and see how to apply them to our lives today.I. Purposefulness – The text says, When the days for Jesus’ being taken up were fulfilled, he resolutely determined to journey to Jerusalem, and he sent messengers ahead of him.Note that Jesus was resolute. He was heading to Jerusalem to suffer, die, and rise; to undertake the great battle and the great mission entrusted to Him. Everything He did was to be oriented toward this goal. What about us? Are we as determined to...

Look how much hatred your favorite celebrities and companies harbor for you in the wake of Dobbs v. Jackson. In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood, the corporate and entertainment world have joined the pro-abortion chorus in denouncing the decision, the Court, and the pro-life movement. Their reaction has been swift and predictable. The Hollywood crowd wasted no time screeching on social media, according to Newsweek. Bette Midler wrote about the Court: "They did it. THEY DID IT TO US. ... How dare they?" She called a woman who suggested...

Video of a touching series of events from a major league baseball game went mega-viral after a man gave his prized foul ball to a kid sitting nearby in the stands. The incident unfolded at the game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Kansas City Royals in Anaheim, California. A player on the Royals threw a baseball into the crowd, and a man caught it. After a moment of celebration, the man tossed it to a young boy sitting near in front of him. Later in the game, the boy got a chance to pay him back. The boy's...

If ever an action did not have an equal and opposite reaction, this Roe decision from the Supreme Court is it. ... On one side is the gnashing of teeth, the uninhibited profanity, the shrieking, the obscene gestures and the stripping off of clothing in public (what that has to do with the abortion issue is beyond me). There is the threat of violence, the post-Dobbs retributive intention of expanding abortion to include infanticide (it’s coming), and the seditious threats of elected officials to incite violence and civil disobedience. All of that is evil, almost demonic in its intensity. On...

In a June 25 tweet, Canadian pollster John Corbett wrote, "Clarence Thomas: Just another dumb field n*gger" from an account that was almost immediately suspended. Advertisement Adam B. Coleman, author and The Post Millennial contributor, posted a screenshot of the hateful and racist remark on Twitter and wrote, "He says n*gger with such ease. These are the self righteous people who see black people as either an acceptable n*gger or a "field n*gger"... Either way, we'll always be n*ggers to @johnVcorbett because our purpose is to serve a master."

Why are Democrats so violent when something doesn't go their way? The recent ruling from the Supreme Court that overturned Roe v. Wade launched a thousand protests, which the Democrats called "The Night of Rage." In Washington D.C., hundreds of pro-abortion ‘activists’ marched, shouted slogans, and held signs outside the Supreme Court building and beyond. Crowds ‘demonstrated’ before the federal building in downtown Chicago. The cacophony of ‘protests’ was also witnessed at the Georgia Capitol in Atlanta, the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison, and in Flint, Michigan. There were ‘marches’ in downtown Seattle, Philadelphia, Boston, and Los Angeles. There were ‘demonstrations’...

Imagine being the manager of a Planned Parenthood clinic in a red state with an abortion trigger law this morning. In one fail swoop, the Supreme Court Dobbs decision not only stripped women of the fundamental right to reproductive freedom you have spent a lifetime championing, but it literally put you out of business. It must be so depressing, but you can still hold your head high, knowing that no matter how bad the past 24 hours have been for you, it’s nothing compared to sense of humiliating defeat Dobbs has visited upon ‘True Conservative’ Nevertrumpers. For the Nevertrumper, there’s...

Joe Biden and his puppet masters want to destroy fossil fuel use in the name of an unproven theory called "man-made global climate change." … In order to solve a problem, one must first understand complicity. There is no redemption if there is no admission of guilt, and then remorseful contrition. Every problem has a solution, and every error can be rectified. … Since the party in power doesn't understand cause and effect, or the Democrats intentionally sabotaged a successful economy, redemption won't grace our nation until the culprits have all left Washington. On both sides of the aisle. This...
