Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem

Our Father in Heaven,
How Hallowed,
Magnificent,
and Sanctified
is Your Most Holy Name!
How Blessed and How True is Your Word,
and How Mighty!
How Glorious,
to Span the Ages,
To be Unfettered by Time and Space,
To Know The End from the Beginning
and the beginning from The End!
For it is You, Oh LORD,
Who designed the Galaxies with Your Compass,
And Mapped Out the Vast Reaches of Space
With Your Word and Your Omniscient Imagination!
Scientists tell us even the heavens are finite.
But YOU are Infinite!
LORD, remind us ALWAYS to Worship You,
and not Your Creation.
Your creation is there but to proclaim YOUR GLORY.
Hallelujah and Amen.
Let all that has been Concealed
Be Revealed.
Father, We Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray That You Will Forgive The Sins
of Our Own Nation,
and Lead us all to Godly Repentance.
Create in Us Clean Hearts, Oh LORD,
and Renew a Right Spirit Within Us.
This we Pray Together,
As We Await Your Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Set Up His Kingdom,
And Make All Things Right.
God Bless America.

It's not my job to psychoanalyze people, but, in a struggle to understand my nasty neighbor who verbally abused me, I found myself coming to some very interesting theories regarding his reprehensible behavior.
First of all, the guy only attacks (verbally) Women. He focuses his wrath upon older women, who do not have husbands to protect them. In our little community, that means widowed senior citizens. That's pretty cowardly. In fact, when I had a 70 pound Pit-Bull (Penny, RIP) he never attacked me. The first attack on me was when I was walking a 30 pound cattle dog (Tippy).
Since his own mother was widowed, and has since passed on, it is interesting that he attacks people who most closely resemble HER in their life's circumstances. In the parlance of Pop Psychology, it is very possible that he has "Mommy Issues".
Anyway, when I pray for him now, I include a prayer for deliverance from any childhood trauma that has resulted in his hatred for elderly, widowed, women. Perhaps it is a sin for me to psychoanalyze him without a license. Or maybe it's just discernment. Anyway, I avoid that area of the neighborhood and walk Tippy down other streets.
Yesterday I found a marked, groomed trail through the forest that leads to a pond, less than a mile from my house! Tippy loves it and so do I.
Today's short Passage that is stuck on the end of a pivotal Chapter in Genesis says more at first than meets the eye. Esau must have sensed from very early childhood that Rebecca liked Jabob best. Although Isaac was content to accept the protocol of giving his Blessing to the First Born, whatever his capabilities, Rebecca sensed something in Jacob that drew her to him. She was even content to deceive her own husband to push Jacob to the head of the line. Esau must have lived with this resentment for years, and hadn't gotten over it, even as an adult. His reaction when he found out about the stolen Blessing (weeping and begging) showed that Esau would NEVER have had the patience and faith (as well as the cleverness) that would sustain Jacob through twenty years of labor for his chosen bride, years of wandering in the desert, and, finally, ending up in Egypt and dying there without ever seeing the Promise.
The Lentil Soup Incident showed Esau as having no impulse-control, and needing instant gratification when he wasn't really "STAAHVING".
Rebecca may have known that Esau would not be the progenitor of the Israelites. This could have become evident in her treatment of the two boys from early childhood. Esau's marriage to, not one, but TWO Hittite women could have been meant as a slap in the face to his Mom. It certainly had that effect.
Lest you think I may be reading too much into this, there is an incident later on where Esau takes another wife, this one a daughter of Ishmael. He does it, not because he is in love with her, but because Jacob has married within the tribe so he has to also.
Some commentators think that Esau was evil. However, much later on in the story, he becomes a model for Forgiveness and Reconciliation.
And THAT'S what I pray for my neighbor.
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Psalm 76
To the leader: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song.
1 In Judah God is known,
his name is great in Israel.
2 His abode has been established in Salem,
his dwelling-place in Zion.
3 There he broke the flashing arrows,
the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war.
Selah
4 Glorious are you, more majestic
than the everlasting mountains.*
5 The stout-hearted were stripped of their spoil;
they sank into sleep;
none of the troops
was able to lift a hand.
6 At your rebuke, O God of Jacob,
both rider and horse lay stunned.
7 But you indeed are awesome!
Who can stand before you
when once your anger is roused?
8 From the heavens you uttered judgement;
the earth feared and was still
9 when God rose up to establish judgement,
to save all the oppressed of the earth.
Selah
10 Human wrath serves only to praise you,
when you bind the last bit of your* wrath around you.
11 Make vows to the Lord your God, and perform them;
let all who are around him bring gifts
to the one who is awesome,
12 who cuts off the spirit of princes,
who inspires fear in the kings of the earth.
