(No search results) Earlier this month, five Republican congressmen were subpoenaed by the January 6 select committee, a stunning and significant move to be sure, considering the power hungry committee members had not yet subpoenaed their own members until that point. On Thursday, two of those members, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) wrote an op-ed published in The Wall Street Journal, charging that "The Jan. 6 Committee Is Weaponizing Majority Rule." In addition to McCarthy and Jordan, Republican Reps. Scott Perry (PA), Andy Biggs (AZ), and Mo Brooks (AL) were also subpoenaed. While McCarthy,...

Every mass school shooting strikes terror in parents’ hearts and grief in the communities in which they occur. You might from press coverage have the idea that they are a regular occurrence, but, in fact, they remain rare -- 13 mass school shootings since 1966. Still, like all seemingly incomprehensible tragedies it causes a search for meaning. After all, people my age went to schools where there were rifle clubs. Kids in those clubs regularly brought their weapons to school, and yet there weren’t any school shootings. (I expect in some rural areas of the country this may still be...

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them. Psalm 103:17-18 (King James Version) It appears Robert Kennedy Jr is right with his theory stating as many as 85% of the deaths from Cold-19 were from medical malpractice. Now, what is the combined deaths of Covid and the Clot Shot? If it is what many are estimating the number of total deaths would be between 2 and 10 million? This would...

The sexual revolution has been a disaster for women – that was the provocative case set out by Louise Perry in yesterday’s Daily Mail. Here, in a second extract from her powerful new book, she takes on feminists who deride marriage. Yes, it’s hard work, she says, and most don’t live up to a romantic ideal, but it still offers the best protection possible for a woman and her children. The institution of marriage is now more or less dead. In 1968, eight per cent of children were born to parents who were not married; in 2019, it was almost...

Dementia Joe Biden has come unstuck in time again. His latest Billy Pilgrim moment happened Friday, graduation day at the U.S. Naval Academy. Brandon was delivering his usual incoherent stew of demagoguery and senility — equal portions of deranged whispers and sudden shouts, punctuated with one preposterous lie after another, about the number of trips he’s made to Iraq and Afghanistan, the economy, his athletic career etc. etc. Among other things, he said the graduates had spent “four days” in college. He called Zoom “Joom.” He claimed he’s convinced “North Korea” to impose sanctions on Russia. He said COVID is...

A suspected serial killer was charged in a seventh murder after witnesses recognized a distinct crescent moon forehead tattoo, officials said. Perez Deshay Reed, 26, of St. Louis, was already accused in six other killings when he was slapped with the additional first-degree murder charge on Friday, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office announced. He’s additionally charged with one count of armed criminal action and two counts of fraud involving a credit or debit device. The latest charges stem from the fatal shooting in November 2021 of Stephon D. Johnson, whose body was found stuffed inside of a closet in his...

NEW BRIDGE, CHICKAHOMINY RIVER, Va., Monday Evening, May 26, 1862. Within the past three days the disposition of the whole rebel army before Richmond seems to have been changed. Instead of the rebels retreating, with all their supplies and camp equipage toward the city, they are coming from it in large numbers, and are evidently determined to make a stand between it and the Chickahominy River. It was ascertained beyond a doubt that five days ago, but a small force of the enemy -- say six thousand men -- occupied the ground between us and Richmond. It was then supposed...

Some key reforms could restore accountability in higher education, making colleges affordable and focused on actually educating students. American colleges and universities continue to lose students steadily. The latest statistics confirm their continuing decline. Here’s some headline numbers: The number of total enrolled postsecondary students declined 3.3 percent year-over-year, the most significant rate of decline in enrollment since 1951. This number has declined nearly 10 percent since 2010, from 21 million to 19 million. College enrollment totaled 15.9 million undergraduate students nationwide in Fall 2020, a 4.3 percent decline year-over-year. This number has declined more than 12 percent since 2010,...

June is just around the corner and with it will come one of the most highly anticipated rulings from the U.S. Supreme Court. While we don’t know the specifics of the ruling yet, we do know that the justices are taking a hard look at the text of the Constitution. They’re also considering the meaning of several laws and regulations as they have been understood by generations of Americans during the nearly 250-year history of our country. Finally, they are weighing the rights of adults seeking to engage in private decisions about potential risks to their health and welfare vs....

In a segment Saturday on Tiffany Cross's MSNBC show focused on the Uvalde school shooting, guest Jasmine Crockett—a member of the Texas House of Representatives and candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives—said that in her notion of gun reform, "there is no need for an AR-15, period."Cross concurred on the sermon, telling Crockett that she was "preaching to the choir." Frequent guest Brittany Packnett Cunningham spelled out the gun-grabbing plan in explicit terms: "Pull AR-15s and other similar assault weapons off of the streets . . . We need to remove the tools of violence. That is about removing...

According to a case report published in the Official Journal of the Irish Medical Organisation on Wednesday, the sex triggered short-term amnesia, temporarily wiping his memory of the previous day and making him unable to retain new information. The doctors are calling it the “Transient Global Amnesia (TGA)” which, according to the Mayo Clinic, has been defined as “a sudden, temporary episode of memory loss that can't be attributed to a more common neurological condition, such as epilepsy or stroke.” The doctors said that after the intercourse, the man “became distressed” when he noticed the date on his phone and...

With rumors swirling about China invading Taiwan, it’s worth thinking about the CCP’s strengths and weaknesses. The majority of Taiwanese don’t identify themselves as Chinese according to a 2020 Pew Research survey. This is consistent with other polls showing that people in Taiwan increasingly identify only as Taiwanese. Xi Jinping, though, doesn’t care. His political ambition to bring Taiwan into the Chinese fold is the most influential factor in China’s policy over Taiwan—but even Xi’s ambitions may be insufficient when measured against the practical realities arrayed against him. A leaked memo from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in March 2022...

Greens have mandate to stop new oil and gas projects: Bandt tells Labor The world has been taken over by the “Greens” who want to destroy all fossil fuel production fearing that if the tide turns, they will lose this opportunity. We are seeing the same push from Germany, the United States, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. The AGENDA IS TO ACTUALLY DESTROY THE CAPACITY TO PRODUCE and cause so much damage that no future administration will be able to restart what they have destroyed. There is no rational agenda, They do not care if there is any alternative available...

A US woman has fatally shot a man who opened fire on a crowd of people with a semi-automatic rifle in Charleston, West Virginia. Dennis Butler, a 37-year-old with an extensive criminal history, was killed after he targeted a group of around 40 people attending a birthday party. Police spokesman Tony Hazelett said the woman's quick reaction saved lives and may have prevented a mass shooting. It comes amid a national debate over guns after a school shooting in Texas. Butler had driven by the area earlier on Wednesday evening when he was warned to slow down because children were...

On the night of May 15-16, the façade of the Redentore church -- designed by Renaissance "starchitect" Andrea Palladio, and the site of perhaps the city's most famous festival -- was vandalized. A portion of the façade -- built in white Istrian stone, from what was part of the Venetian empire when the church was constructed -- was daubed in pink, with what looked like an equation scrawled on top of it. The three-square-meter area sits beneath the statue of St. Francis of Assisi, just to the right of the entrance as you ascend its famous white-stone staircase. It follows...

Police were called to the blaze on the 85ft (26m) vessel at Princess Pier in Torquay, Devon, at about 12:10 BST on Saturday. Members of the public described hearing a bang, before seeing a huge plume of black smoke. No injuries have been reported, Devon & Cornwall Police said. Emergency services declared a major incident and officers evacuated a nearby beach and roads. The boat, which police said broke from its mooring, was secured by the fire service near the marina's pier before it sank. The Environment Agency (EA) said it was believed to have had about nine tonnes of...

Police say they discovered that earlier that night, Butler was approached about speeding in the apartment complex while children were playing. Police say Butler then left the complex and returned a short time later when he parked his vehicle in front of the apartment, pulled out an AR-15 style rifle and started firing at people attending a party. Police say a bystander attending the party quickly pulled out her pistol and fired at Butler, fatally injuring him. “Instead of running from the threat, she engaged with the threat and saved several lives last night,” said Lieutenant Tony Hazelett. “She was...

When Emma Watson, the film star and women’s rights campaigner, was criticised for showing her breasts on the cover of Vanity Fair, she hit back by asserting ‘feminism is about giving women choice. It’s about freedom’. For liberal feminists like her that might be true. But for many other women — perhaps a sizeable majority — that freedom has spectacularly backfired. It has turned out to be a lie and a con. Rather than women being emancipated sexually, in the digital age we have become a society in thrall to the worst of male sexuality.
