On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Senate Minority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) predicted that the border and illegal immigration will be “huge” in the 2022 elections and were going to be major issues even before the Biden administration announced its decision to revoke Title 42. What would happen if a major disaster hit America, millions died, air traffic ground to a halt, electricity was down and Congress needed to act? And what if half the members of Congress were among the dead or missing? These aren't pitches for a disaster movie set in Washington. These were all serious scenarios floated by members of Congress tasked with coming up with ways to bring Congress into the modern world--a world where cyber threats, pandemics, nuclear war and political violence are all well within the scope of possibility. "This isn't just hypothetical anymore," said Rep. Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo.,...

California politicians of both parties are finger-pointing in the aftermath of a downtown Sacramento gang shootout that left six people dead. Democrats want to see more action on gun restrictions, and Republicans want to see the state take a harder stance on criminal justice issues. The California Republican Party went into attack mode following reporting from The Sacramento Bee that one of the three suspects arrested after the shooting had been released from prison in February after receiving a 10-year sentence for domestic violence and assault in 2018. It said Newsom and his parole board appointees were to blame, which...

NEW ORLEANS -- President Joe Biden’s requirement that all federal employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 was upheld Thursday by a federal appeals court. In a 2-1 ruling, a panel of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court and ordered dismissal of a lawsuit challenging the mandate. The ruling, a rare win for the administration at the New Orleans-based appellate court, said that the federal judge didn’t have jurisdiction in the case and those challenging the requirement could have pursued administrative remedies under Civil Service law. U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Brown, who was appointed to the District Court...

Former President Donald Trump’s niece Mary Trump said Thursday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that her cousin Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner will turn on Donald Trump if it is what is best for them. Anchor Nicolle Wallace said, “There is a question that I have had on my mind, and you’re the only person that can answer it. How does the bizarre sycophantic bubble split along Jared and Ivanka sitting for hours-long interviews with the 1/6 committee while Peter Navarro races down to Mar-a-Lago to shove the hot dogs wrapped in a bun into his mouth and high five...

NBC News on Wednesday evening casually admitted that the “intelligence” Biden released claiming Russia was planning a false flag operation as a pretext to invade Ukraine was totally made up. There were also claims of chemical weapons or Russia asking China for help. Apparently it was all made up. https://mobile.twitter.com/tomselliott/status/1512104639528939528

This is why with solemnity, a very benevolent insistence, I beg you to go and vote" declared the Rassemblement candidate in front of some 4,000 supporters... Chris Wallace got into a heated exchange with “1619 Project” author and New York Times reporter Nikole Hannah-Jones, who told him that the generation that fought in World War II “brutally suppressed” black people. Hannah-Jones, who said the US is a country “founded on racism,” got pushback from Wallace in response to her claim that the “Greatest Generation” that fought in World War II “brutally suppressed democracy” by denying African Americans the right to vote in the US. During his CNN+ show, Wallace read aloud a passage from the “1619 Project” — the controversial, Pulitzer Prize-winning series from the New...

Grant Dixon has been carefully following the NZ Ministry of Health Covid statistics during the last 15 months. By the start of April the rate per 100,000 of Covid hospitalisations for the boosted overtook the rate of hospitalisations for the unvaccinated. Watch the video, the magnitude of the change is very obvious.Even prior to the pandemic, it was realised that vaccines that allow transmission could drive the evolution of more highly virulent pathogens:The NZ data speaks for itself. It is hardly necessary to comment that government policy has failed to take account of the concerning growth of infections among the...

Quite a few young men would like to increase their height. However, a study by nutritionists shows that they do not benefit from increased protein intake in terms of their adult height. In contrast, young women often see it as problematic when their height significantly exceeds 1.80 meters. Here, during growth, a protein intake adapted to the recommendations can even cause a reduction of a few centimeters. While an increase in protein intake had no effect on body height in the boys and young men, a clear relationship was found in the girls. According to the scientists' calculations, an average...

Scientists at Newcastle University have shown that physical activity causes the cancer-fighting protein, interleukin-6 (IL-6), to be released into the bloodstream which helps repair the DNA of damaged cells. The findings, published in the International Journal of Cancer, sheds new light on the importance of moderate activity in the fight against the life-threatening illness and could help develop treatments in the future. Repairing DNA Dr. Sam Orange, Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at Newcastle University, said: "Previous scientific evidence suggests that more exercise is better for reducing bowel cancer risk as the more physical activity people do, the lower their chances...

Anglican “Bishops”: To be Trans is to Enter a Sacred Journey of Becoming Whole Pope Francis meets Ms. Ozanne, a practicing lesbian and evangelical AnglicanThe former Anglican Archlayperson of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, recently stated the following:To be trans is to enter a sacred journey of becoming whole: precious, honoured and loved, by yourself, by others and by God[i]If ever there was ever a warning of how deeply a religious body can go mad when they reject the Tradition of the Church, the Anglicans are it. The differences in the so called Church of England and the true Church of...

According to sources, local conservative/libertarian-ish man Kyle McManus on Monday pondered how Disney has so much money, power, and cultural influence to push its leftist agenda. The man wondered these things as he stood on a bridge inside Disney's California Adventure eating a $12 Mickey Mouse-shaped pretzel. "I just don't get how Disney keeps funding all these LGBTQ agenda-driven movies and shows," said the man wearing a Star Wars T-shirt purchased for $36 at the World of Disney store. "We need to start fighting back to retake the culture, but it's just so tough when Disney has so much funding."...

A research team led by Prof. Liu Qingsong and Liu Jing from the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has recently found that nintedanib, a multikinase inhibitor of the receptor tyrosine kinase FGFR/VEGFR/PDGFR, could be used in the treatment of drug-resistant gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). Results were published in Molecular Oncology. GISTs are mesenchymal tumors that usually occur in the gastrointestinal tract. Nearly 85% of GISTs bear oncogenic mutations in mast/stem cell growth factor receptor (KIT). As the first-line therapy, imatinib has significantly improves GIST patient survival. However, most patients eventually experience disease...

CNN anchor Brian Stelter on Thursday denied that CNN purveyed multiple hoaxes and dismissed Hunter Biden’s “laptop from hell” as “Russia disinformation.” Speaking at the “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy” forum, Stelter was asked by college freshman Christopher Phillips about CNN’s record of inaccurate reporting and suppression of news.

As the battle between The Walt Disney Co. and Florida rages on, the co-founders of Moms for Liberty are calling for a boycott, saying “Disney has severely underestimated Florida parents.” On March 28, 2022, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education bill into law. House Bill 1557, inaccurately branded by liberal opponents as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, prohibits Florida educators from teaching anything about sexual orientation or gender identity to children in Kindergarten through third grade. The law goes further, enabling parents to sue if they believe schools or instructors have violated the law. A week...

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Thursday inadvertently agreed that the U.S. sharing intelligence with China on Russia was bad, despite Biden administration staffers doing exactly that. Under questioning from Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Austin said that U.S. intelligence reports are not made public in order to protect sources and methods “so that we don’t lose capability.”

The best universities in the world are supposed to be bastions of scientific reasoning. Instead, during the pandemic, they instituted policies that are at odds with basic principles of public health. This includes, unfortunately, Stanford University, where I am an international graduate student in the PhD program in Physics. This spring, Stanford instituted a requirement that all students be vaccinated or else face an "enrollment hold" which restricts their ability to complete classes, progress on degrees, get financial aid or even live on campus. Though the university was not explicit, these restrictions on the unboosted amount to effective expulsion from...
