Blog/Opinion Posted Apr 3, 2022 by Martin Armstrong Spread the love QUESTION: Hi Martin, What do you think banks will do with mortgages if we continue experiencing high inflation and/or hyperinflation? Do you think we might be able to pay off a mortgage with gold if things get bad enough? Marc ANSWER: No! The contract is in dollars and that cannot be altered. There won’t be hyper-inflation for that takes place when the CONFIDENCE in government completely collapses. The shallow analysis of even the German Hyperinflation has created such a myth that inflation is the result of an increase in...

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin threatened on Thursday to halt contracts supplying Europe with a third of its gas unless they are paid in roubles, his strongest economic riposte so far to crushing Western sanctions over his invasion of Ukraine....But Moscow did offer a mechanism for buyers to obtain roubles by sending foreign currency to a Russian bank....They must open rouble accounts in Russian banks. It is from these accounts that payments will be made for gas delivered starting from tomorrow,” he said on Thursday, adding that Europe had until now been getting some gas for free because it was paying...

"You can't help but see these images as a punch to the gut," Blinken said on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday. He was reacting to photos out of Bucha, Ukraine, near Kyiv, showing photos of civilian men who were reportedly executed and left on the streets, according to the city’s mayor. How unprepared for the coming tidal wave of illegal aliens clamoring to enter the United States is the Biden administration? Administration officials are saying they expect about 7,000 border apprehensions a day once the pandemic-era Title 42 is lifted. In fact, the real number is going to be closer to 18,000 border apprehensions every day, according to Homeland Security. And the Washington Post editorial board writes that Biden isn’t ready for it. Department of Homeland Security officials are assembling what amounts to a logistical war room to manage the coming mess — for detention facilities, transportation capabilities and Border Patrol...

Legal scholar Jonathan Turley has called for a special counsel to be appointed to investigate allegations of influence-peddling against Democrat President Joe Biden and his family members. Turley has joined the growing chorus calling for investigations after several left-wing corporate media outlets recently confirmed that Hunter Biden’s “Laptop from Hell” is genuine. The George Washington University Law School professor is pressing Attorney General Merrick Garland to appoint a special prosecutor to probe the Biden family business for links with the president’s political career. Turley said the “demonstrably false” statement from the White House, that Hunter Biden never made money in...

VIDEOThe liberals are DESPERATE for Attorney General Merrick Garland to act in a completely political manner and indict President Donald Trump BEFORE the midterm elections. Sleepy Joe has caused so much havoc on America both economically and socially that they see such a phony indictment as the only way to stave off big election losses in November. The good news for Merrick Garland is that he doesn't even have to build a real case against Trump. He can just present a bunch of easily disprovable charges since the goal is an indictment, even if it is completely phony, for purely political...

Governor Larry Hogan (R-MD) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that Florida’s so-called “Don’t Say Gay” law was both “absurd” and a “crazy fight.” Anchor Dana Bash said, “Your fellow Republican governor, DeSantis in Florida, he suggested he will retaliate against Disney after it criticized Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which bans certain instruction about sexual orientation and gender identity in the classroom. What is your reaction to that, and more broadly, what do you make of that legislation?”

Governor Larry Hogan (R-MD) said Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” that former President Donald Trump publicly calling on Russian President Vladimir Putin to release any dirt he might have on Hunter Biden in an interview with “Just the News” was “the worst possible thing you can do.” Anchor Dana Bash said, “A federal judge wrote, ‘based on the evidence, the court finds it more likely than not that President trump corruptly attempted to obstruct the joint session of Congress on January 6, 2021.’ He’s effectively saying that the former president committed federal crime. Do you agree?”

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the average American did not want to be governed by Republicans “who live in a totally different reality.” Clinton said, “I always thought the best politics is doing the best job you can do, and there are a lot that Democrats can talk about in the upcoming midterms. I’m aware that midterms are always difficult for the party in power, but we’ve got to start there and do a better job of telling it. For those who say it hasn’t gone far enough, that’s always the...

Saddam, Gaddafi, Iran, Venezuela – they all tried but couldn’t do it. But Russia is on a different level altogether. The beauty of the game-changing, gas-for-rubles, geoeconomic jujitsu applied by Moscow is its stark simplicity. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s presidential decree on new payment terms for energy products, predictably, was misunderstood by the collective west. The Russian government is not exactly demanding straightforward payment for gas in rubles. What Moscow wants is to be paid at Gazprombank in Russia, in its currency of choice, and not at a Gazprom account in any banking institution in western capitals. That’s the essence...
