The news business is in a state of flux. Newsroom employment has dropped by about 26% since 2008 and while many new digital outlets are adding jobs, others are struggling to survive. Question to journalists who have left newsrooms: What's the best advice you'd give to a reporter/editor leaving the traditional world of journalism (whether they're leaving industry altogether or moving to something...

Dozens of statements from ordinary trackmen and line workers, rail hands and IT specialists, conductors and engineers showed the depth and breadth of opposition in Belarus to Russia’s war, as well as towards Mr Lukashenko. “I know these guys – they are drivers, security guards and maintenance crews,” Franak Viacorka, an adviser to Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, tells The Independent in an interview. ...While the war may help Mr Putin consolidate his hold over Russian society and politics, for Belarus and its autocratic leader the conflict could unravel an already shaky calm imposed by force. Polls conducted by the...

In a significant escalation that is sure to have huge impact not only on the prospect for direct Russia-NATO military confrontation but also Europe’s energy crisis and natural gas showdown with Moscow, Germany has approved “tanks” for Ukraine. “Germany has approved the delivery of 56 combat tanks to Ukraine, a German defense ministry spokesperson told CNN Friday,” according to a breaking report. But more specifically these are in actuality ‘infantry fighting vehicles’ – and lighter than what CNN is referencing as conventional “combat tanks”. The ministry described to CNN that “The tanks, which are type Pbv 501, stem from the...

The Ethiopian and Coptic Orthodox Churches hold that Pontius Pilate, the governor who condemned Jesus Christ to death, later converted to Christianity himself. So they revere Pilate as a saint. Pontius Pilate is a curious character in the New Testament. He is the symbol of Rome’s authority in Judaea, and yet he declines to punish Jesus for insurrection against that authority. When the Sanhedrin present their prisoner to him, Pilate cross-examines him and then famously declares to the crowd: Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him. John 19:4 Pilate...

Why it matters: Moderate and progressive Democrats, particularly in the House, are fearful of an electoral tsunami this November. They tell Axios they're unsure whether the party can repair the damage in time. "People are extremely discouraged, there's no doubt," said Rep. Annie Kuster (D-N.H.), a moderate and leading member of the New Democrat Coalition. Kuster was among the NDC members who met with President Biden on Wednesday and urged the administration to take action on supply chain and inflation issues, gas prices and a budget reconciliation bill. Rep. Susan Wild (D-Pa.), a swing-district member, told Axios's Andrew Solender the...

Dear business owners and CEO's: As a headhunter, I've been dealing with HR for 25 years, and I implore you to fire them now! All of them! Ninety-nine percent of them are liberal, woke, CRT-pushing pukes who prioritize personal pronouns over production and profit. I see them stalking social media to ensure that resumes of 'undesirables' are never seem by hiring managers. These elitist group-thinkers have an agenda, and it's not yours! The CEO of a Fortune 100 company told me last week that he's "scared to death" of his VPHR. Sound familiar? They're your enemy, not your friend; a...

Michael Sussmann is the Democratic lawyer who is being prosecuted by special counsel John Durham for lying to the FBI. Back in February, Sussmann’s attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the case arguing that even if their client lied about who he was working for when he brought information about Trump and Alfa Bank to the FBI, that lie was an “ancillary matter.” Today, the judge held a pre-trial hearing about the request for dismissal and it sounds as if it didn’t go well for Sussmann. ~ "The bulk of Thursday’s hearing was devoted to a motion by Sussmann’s attorneys...

You can always count on government to make things more expensive when they claim they want to help make things more affordable. For example, President Biden and his green commandos are helping drive critical electric battery component LITHIUM through the roof! Lithium hydroxide futures prices are through the roof making already expensive electric cars even MORE expensive. So much for making electric cars affordable! Of course, The Federal government will now have to subsidize GM and Ford and increase Federal tax credits to encourage consumers to purchase outrageously expensive electric cars. Thanks Joe for issuing your enactment of the Defense...
