Senate confirms Jay Clayton as Trump's next intelligence chief

Washington — The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Jay Clayton to lead the nation's intelligence agencies in a party-line vote that could be the key to unlock a path forward on a key surveillance authority that lapsed more than six weeks ago.

The Senate voted 51 to 47 to install Clayton as director of national intelligence. He replaces Bill Pulte, a controversial housing official with no intelligence experience whom President Trump appointed to the role temporarily. The appointment led Democrats to walk away from a bipartisan deal to reauthorize a warrantless spy tool known as Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

"I hope this will encourage my colleagues to stop blocking reauthorization of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act," Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a South Dakota Republican, said Monday on the Senate floor.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

This is good news. But I hope members of both party keep blocking renewal of the FISA court.

Acting director is Bill Pulte. I believe he has been busy getting rid of of few deep state members.

“Acting spy chief says ODNI has made another round of cuts”

“The Office of the Director of National Intelligence is continuing to shed staff, with acting Director of National Intelligence Bill Pulte announcing the latest round of layoffs this week.

Pulte was tapped to lead ODNI last month following the departure of DNI Tulsi Gabbard. He also serves as director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.

Since becoming acting Director of National Intelligence, our team has been smartly, and carefully, reducing the size of ODNI, re-focusing ODNI on national security, the law, and the statute,” Pulte posted on X shortly after midnight on Sunday. “As of this evening, we just finished a 4th round of thoughtful, measured layoffs.””

And if the progs get in during the `28 elections how will THEY use Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act?

No. Thank. You.

We have much better technology than that, it would be like passing out rifles.

Sooner or later the demonic progs will be on top of fed.gov and as they are so famous for, they will get a Step 1 bright idea without even realizing there is a Step 2.

Step 2 is what usually kicks their azz, the wrath of freshly screwed over patriot American Citizens...

Really? I kind of like Bill Pulte. He is about to fire a bunch more people. I hope that still goes through.

Is it just me or is Mark Warner becoming dumber and dumber every day. I remember a decade ago he sometimes made sense.
