Many have been used as storage rooms, and are packed with old furniture and other cast-offs. Most lack water and working sanitation facilities. State regulations still demand, though, that bomb shelters (called tilfluktsrom in Norwegian) be ready for service within 72 hours, prompting lots of cleaning and quick refurbishment around the country right now. Norway’s state directorate for security and preparedness (DSB) confirms that all the shelters combined can only accommodate 2.5 million people, less than half Norway’s current population. Norwegian Broadcating (NRK) reported how state authorities, believing the Cold War was over, decided in 1998 to remove long-standing demands...

Is Biden aware that when he talks every word counts? No, he is not aware, but we will suffer the restults anyway. All because our president suffers from loose lips. But first we must get to what’s really bothering America, still, even back to last Sunday when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. The NY Post devotes an entire section, article after article, for “The Slap Heard Around The World.” Fortunately, both men are African American. If Will Smith were White, there’d be riots. As it is, what we’ve got is a misunderstanding between two very rich and very successful entertainers....

CNN reported that the Biden administration plans to drop Title 42 in late May, even if border states warn — including Democrats in those states — the flow of migrants could become overwhelming.

This story is by one of our contacts in Ukraine, who helps us connect with the people that need to be evacuated. By Victoria. This story starts, like so many others with a cry for help. But no, don’t think this is a sad story. That’s not how this story ends. It starts, however, with a cry for help. Two women, and a child, deep inside enemy-held territory in eastern Ukraine. Grandma Olga (not her real name), her daughter, and her grandson. A tiny village, a name you’ll never see on TV, the kind of place where time passes slowly...

New York Times columnist Tom Friedman has a hot take about the Ukraine War, and of course, it involved trying to freak people out about climate change. Friedman blurted in a new op-ed that the Ukraine War “needs to end with America finally, formally, categorically and irreversibly ending its addiction to oil.” Friedman's op-ed, headlined "How to Defeat Putin and Save the Planet," pontificated that “[n]othing has distorted our foreign policy, our commitments to human rights, our national security and, most of all, our environment than our oil addiction.” Then came the apocalyptic doom-mongering: “Our civilization simply cannot afford this...

Two reports say that the Motion Picture Academy lied on Thursday by claiming Will Smith was asked to leave the basement-rated Oscar telecast after his unprovoked assault on Chris Rock. Oh, my, yes… This scandal just got a whole lot more delicious. Right now, the entertainment community is furious at the Academy for not doing anything after Smith assaulted a comedian for telling a joke. In front of the whole world, Smith was not only allowed to stroll onto the stage and smack Rock; he was allowed to remain in his seat afterward. What’s more, he was handed an Oscar...

Effective this Sunday, the U.S. Postal Service will implement two parcel-delivery surcharges that will make it costlier for high-volume shippers to move their bigger packages. A “dimensional noncompliance” fee of $1.50 per piece will be levied on parcels that are tendered without any dimensions appearing on the shipper manifest. A similar fee will apply for parcels that are tendered with dimensional information and either exceed 22 inches in length on the parcel’s longest side or are 1 cubic foot in volume. The fees are designed to compensate the Postal Service for the time and resources spent measuring a package, as...
