Chicago Crime 9 members of Gangster Disciples, 3 US Army soldiers charged with conspiracy in alleged gun-running operation

CHICAGO — Nine members of the Pocket Town faction of the Gangster Disciples street gang now face federal conspiracy charges in connection with an alleged gun-running operation, masterminded by three U.S. Army soldiers, that brought a host of firearms to Chicago in recent years.
The 21-count indictment, unsealed Wednesday in federal court in Nashville, charges the soldiers and gang members with conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy and conspiracy to commit firearms offenses in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
Along with the soldiers, federal prosecutors charged alleged Pocket Town members Blaise Smith, Raheem Johnson, Bryant Larkin, Corey Curtis, Elijah Tillman, Terrell Mitchell, Lazarus Greenwood, Dwight Lowry and Dreshion Parks. Two other since-deceased members of Pocket Town were listed as unindicted co-conspirators.
The three soldiers — Brandon Miller, Jarius Brunson and Demarcus Adams — were initially charged in 2021 with supplying weapons to gang members in Chicago.
The soldiers — who were based at Fort Campbell on the Kentucky-Tennessee state line — are also charged with making false statements during the purchase of a firearm, transferring a firearm to an out-of-state resident and engaging in business without a license.

An interesting report regarding the security detail that accompanies Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has been published by the Chicago Sun-Times and reveals she has been secretly protected by what’s being called a “specialist squad.”
Chicago police’s previous unknown Unit 544, which consists of 65 officers along with five sergeants and a lieutenant, is assigned to protect the mayor — in addition to her personal bodyguard detail of about 20 officers. This was reported citing public records and was set up the same year she pushed to slash $80 million from the police budget.
Also known as the Government Security Detail, the unit’s potential recruits were told its “mission will be to provide physical security for City Hall, the mayor’s residence, and the mayor’s detail command post,” the paper said.
“Through the coordination of intelligence and resources, officers will respond to all threats related to the mayor’s physical properties to ensure its protection,” a recruitment memo reportedly said.
Originally sent in July 2020, Lightfoot would backtrack on the call to defund the force during protests over the murder of George Flood, and ultimately increase the budget.
Lightfoot confirmed the existence of Unit 544, insisting that it was set up to cover for the lack of a “unified command” for potential mayoral emergencies.

Yeah, something that the Founding Fathers would have thought impossible to make criminal after putting the right to keep and bear arms in 2nd in the Bill of Rights.
And yet Hillary still has not been charged with gun running from the Libyan collection....
Yup - not the most brilliant plan ever devised, but no one accused them of that.
