New York Times columnist Tom Friedman has a hot take about the Ukraine War, and of course, it involved trying to freak people out about climate change.
Friedman blurted in a new op-ed that the Ukraine War “needs to end with America finally, formally, categorically and irreversibly ending its addiction to oil.” Friedman's op-ed, headlined "How to Defeat Putin and Save the Planet," pontificated that “[n]othing has distorted our foreign policy, our commitments to human rights, our national security and, most of all, our environment than our oil addiction.”
Then came the apocalyptic doom-mongering: “Our civilization simply cannot afford this anymore. Climate change has not taken a timeout for the war in Ukraine.” It’s ridiculous to read a lecture about “our commitments to human rights” from the same person who absurdly praised communist China in 2009 for showing how a one party system could impose “‘critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century.’”
JunkScience.com founder Steve Milloy and Climate Depot founder Marc Morano sounded off to the MRC about Friedman’s nonsense. Morano said Friedman’s article should be headlined, “‘How to Defeat U.S. Energy and Do Nothing to Save the Planet.'”

Tomorrow’s NY Times Headline..... NY Times printed with Ink! Ink made from oil!
He should make up his mind. Do we need McDonald’s in every country or no oil?
This whole Biden energy crisis precipitated from his push for clean energy and imposing massive restrictions on production thinking it would fast track our conversion.
But their haste has literally caused a crisis and now they are panicked realizing that $6 per gallon gas will wipe out Democrats in the midterms.
The most heroic guy evah, pres of Ukraine said the same a day or two ago......hmmm . I am not buying this crap. Ukraine is corrupt to the hilt with scumbags like Perv Joe, Romney, Pelosi, etc., spawn in there dragging out zillions.
No War for Wind.
To play on the old oil protest from the Iraq war.
Tom Friedman is an OG leftist “fact checker”, hence he’s never right about anything all the time.
Freidman is a commie crack ho.
No, and it is somewhat self-sustaining cuz we ran out of dinosaurs long ago.
With only 1% of the cars on the road being EVs?
Just how many EVs has this clown ever produced?
America is extremely dependent on oil and vulnerable to a serious interruption of supply. I look out of my office window and see so, so many cars and trucks.
The way forward, though, is not to strangle oil production but let other sources of energy reach the point where we choose them rather then being forced to use them.
The ChiComs (who have engineers, scientists, and mathematicians do their central planning rather than lawyers like the US) are switching civilians to electric cars and building hundreds of coal fired power plants to run them.
Saving the good stuff for the military.
“switching civilians to electric cars and building hundreds of coal fired power plants to run them.”
Is that because of their perceived greatness of electric vehicles or their shortage of oil?
I’m not sure it’s greatness, it’s just a way to use abundant coal instead of petroleum.
The Walter Duranty of our times.

Germany has installed “green energy plants “ for 150% of all their possible needs. Yet, even there, they get like 25% of their total electricity from “green”.
