Two video clips featuring US fighters appeared on Twitter on Thursday: one showing an American in combat gear posing in front of the burnt remains of what he said was a Russian tank. Off camera, a Ukrainian shouts “Welcome to America!” and the American repeats the phrase. In the other, narrated by a different soldier with an American accent, shows a detachment of soldiers taking cover by a wall alongside a road, in a village the narrator claims they have recaptured from the Russians.

If you have followed the news coming out of Yale — and why would you, really? — you would know that it’s one ever more embarrassing thing after another for the seemingly “smart” people at this elite university. Wokeism run amok; overt racism in the name of “diversity, equity and inclusion”; an uproar over a professor who offered a gentle defense of “culturally appropriative” Halloween costumes; and on and on. Most recently, a couple of weeks ago it was 100 loud law student protesters shouting down a free speech debate while the Dean of the Law School (Heather Gerken) stood...

A case of the deadly Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) has been spotted in a woman in England who recently returned from Central Asia. The unidentified woman was diagnosed with the tickborne disease at Cambridge University Hospitals and has been moved to a specialist unit in London. She becomes only the third confirmed British case of CCHF, which can cause mood swings, confusion and bleeding in the eyes. Health chiefs insist the risk to public health is low, as the disease usually transmits through bites from ticks not present in the UK and person to person spread is rare. It is...

All the usual suspects are furious. The stories are jaw-dropping, infuriating, and plentiful. The school district in St. Paul, Minnesota is partnering with an organization that offers LGBTQ-affirming curricula for students as young as 3 years old. In Idaho, an 11-year-old girl was coached by her Coeur d’Alene school into a sex change without notifying her parents. As reported by Abigail Shrier, the California Teachers Association held a conference in October 2021, where it advised teachers on best practices for subverting parents, conservative communities, and school principals on issues of gender identity and sexual orientation. Speakers went so far as...

Drinking two or three cups of coffee every day may benefit the heart, according to studies being presented at the American College of Cardiology's 71st Annual Scientific Session. The American College of Cardiology said Thursday that consumption of the caffeinated beverage is associated with a lower risk of heart disease and dangerous heart rhythms, as well as a longer lifespan. The trends also remained true for those with and without cardiovascular disease, with researchers saying the analyses assure that coffee is not linked to new or worsening heart disease.

The Senate is struggling to quickly pass popular bipartisan legislation to suspend normal trade relations with Russia, likely further stalling a top priority of President Joe Biden as he conducts NATO meetings in Europe. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is preventing the chamber from approving the bill before senators leave Washington for the weekend over his opposition to language in the measure regarding sanctions for global human-rights abusers. Paul, who generally opposes sanctions as a means of punishing a foreign nation, is demanding that the House-passed measure be amended to restrict what he sees as an overly broad authorization for executive-branch...

If history is any guide, we will look back at this moment with regret once the passion of the hour has passed. The United States is now overwhelmed with propaganda pushing for Americans to “stand with Ukraine” in its war with Russia. It is not enough to wish the people of Ukraine well. The media, Big Tech, and both political parties have made being a partisan of Ukraine some kind of moral duty. Those refusing to get swept up in anti-Russian hysteria can expect to be condemned as traitors and agents of Vladimir Putin. Contrary to the claims of self-righteous...

Russian precision-guided missiles are failing up to 60% of the time in Ukraine, three US officials with knowledge of intelligence on the issue told Reuters, a possible explanation for the poor progress of Russia's invasion. Since President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, Russia has failed to achieve basic objectives such as neutralizing Ukraine's air force despite a vastly larger armed forces. The US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information, did not provide evidence to support the assessment and did not disclose what precisely was driving high Russian...

About 300 people died in a Russian airstrike last week on a theater being used as a bomb shelter in the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupol, the city’s government said Friday, citing eyewitnesses. When the theater was struck March 16, an enormous inscription reading “CHILDREN” was posted outside in Russian, intended to be visible from the skies above. It was not immediately clear whether emergency workers had finished excavating the site or how the eyewitnesses arrived at the horrific death toll. Soon after the airstrike, Ludmyla Denisova, the Ukrainian Parliament’s human rights commissioner, said more than 1,300 people had been...

Interestingly, this fact has been kept far away from Canadian and American news consumers. Biden’s not the only North American leader in Europe right now. As the Canadian National Post reports, Justin Trudeau gave an address to the European Parliament in which he focused on (don’t laugh) “rising threats to democracies.” What the National Post left out of the report is the fact that several Parliamentarian representatives loudly castigated Trudeau in the harshest terms because he is a threat to democracy. On March 23, the National Post had a long article detailing the topics that Trudeau covered. He spoke of...

The time for polite consideration is over; good sense, courage, and strength demand a Nay vote on her appointment. For crying out loud, it’s 2022 and, in the federal government women are still being promoted based on their looks rather than their qualifications for the job. And by POTUS no less! Well, Biden is just a derivative iteration of Harvey Weinstein. Around twenty years ago, he twice participated in filibustering (Black, female) Judge Janice Rogers Brown’s nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals. She finally was approved in 2005. Then, Biden advised President Bush that if he dared to nominate...

Pasquale died, and in his will he had provided for an elaborate $40,000 funeral. As the last guests departed the affair, his wife Angelina turned to her oldest and dearest friend, “Ah, Pasquale would be pleased," she said. "You're right," replied Maria, who then lowered her voice and leaned in close. "So, go on, how much did this really cost?” "All of it," said Angelina. "Forty thousand dollars.” "Aw, No!", Maria exclaimed, "I mean, it was a very grand affair, but $40,000?” Angelina answered, "The funeral was $6,500. I donated $500 to the church. The whiskey, wine and snacks were...

"But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life." "Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,...
