An internal document acquired by The Counter Signal reveals emergency protest procedures to be taken as the convoy arrives in Ottawa, including what to do if anti-mandate protesters were to storm parliament and occupy the government. Under the subtitle "RED ALERT," the document reads, "A protest (Freedom Convoy) is ongoing in the national capital region's downtown core area and is expected to proceed over the weekend. Traffic and road closures will severely impact both the Ottawa and Gatineau sides of the river. Avoid the area until further notice and telework if possible." The document continues, detailing the procedures those in...

The anti-cop 'Defund the Police' rhetoric pushing Democrat Rep. Cori Bush announced on social media that her car was hit by bullets and then she got wrecked in the comment section. This happened back in June of 2020, but we're just seeing it now because we had no idea how we missed it. Cori Bush is a mouthy Democrat who couldn't make the cut of AOC's "The Squad" and it's hilarious in a hypocritical way that the one person talking so much trash about police is about to need the cops in a major way. Her stinking car was SHOT,...

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - China and the United States could end up in a military conflict if the United States encourages Taiwan's independence, Beijing's ambassador to Washington said in a U.S. radio interview broadcast on Friday. China considers the neighboring, democratically ruled island of Taiwan its "sacred" territory and has never renounced the use of force to ensure eventual unification. "Let me emphasize this. The Taiwan issue is the biggest tinder-box between China and the United States," Qin Gang told National Public Radio. "If the Taiwanese authorities, emboldened by the United States, keep going down the road for independence, it most...

The Nebraska legislature passed a resolution on Friday calling for an Article V convention of states, making it the 17th state to do so. After considering it for the past year, the unicameral body approved the measure in a 32-11 vote, with six senators abstaining or absent. According to the resolution, the Nebraska legislature seeks to call a convention “limited to proposing amendments to the Constitution of the United States that impose fiscal restraints on the federal government, limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, and limit the terms of office for its officials and for members of...

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares issued a legal opinion this week addressing the issue of vaccine mandates at state institutions of higher education. The issue at hand was whether or not in-state colleges and universities could require the vaccine “as a general condition of enrollment or in-person attendance.” "A prior Opinion of this office…concluded that the ‘broad specific and implied discretion’ granted to institutions of higher education in § 23.1-1301 and other statutes contained in Chapter 13 of Title 23.1 permitted public institutions of higher education to condition in-person attendance on receipt of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. That opinion, however,...

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said it had voted unanimously to revoke authorisation for the company's American unit to operate in the US. The firm must stop providing telecoms services in America within 60 days. The announcement comes after larger rival China Telecom had its licence to operate in the US revoked in October. FCC chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel said: "There has been mounting evidence - and with it, a growing concern - that Chinese state-owned carriers pose a real threat to the security of our telecommunications networks." China Unicom told the BBC its American unit "has a good record of...

  • Scientists find link between antibiotics and colon cancer (50% increase before 50, 9% for over 50)

Scientists have found that antibiotic use may increase the risk of developing colon cancer, potentially more so among younger people. The study compared antibiotic use and lifestyle factors of those who had colorectal cancer and those who didn’t. Antibiotic use was found to be associated with the development of colon cancer. The researchers also found antibiotic use was linked with an estimated 50 percent higher risk of colon cancer in people aged under 50, and an estimated 9 percent higher risk in those 50 and over. Sarah Perrott adds: "We found antibiotic exposure was associated with colon cancer among all...

Still stinging from their loss of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat, Democrats aren’t about to let it happen again. Eighty-three-year-old Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, a Bill Clinton appointee, is being forcibly retired by bloodthirsty partisans after nearly 28 years on the High Court. The timing is odd, though, in that Breyer doesn’t plan to step down until early summer, at the end of the current term. The lack of an official announcement yesterday from the Court itself is remarkable, and it tells us a great deal — namely, that Breyer himself wasn’t ready to make the announcement. In a faux...

The Omicron surge has forced businesses to again delay a date for a return to the office. And that means a delay to an inevitable showdown: between workers and managers over remote or office-based work. To a degree, every business will have by now adapted to the reality of a hybrid workplace and the fact some staff will remain home-based while others will come back to the office. Any business that cannot offer a hybrid workplace will face problems in recruitment during this worker shortage. And problems in developing in-house, the skills of managing a modern workforce.HOME MONITORSFor work at...

“Jesus’ Word Possesses Authority” (Luke 4:31-44) In last week’s Gospel, from the first half of Luke chapter 4, we heard Jesus say what he was anointed and sent to do. He quoted these words from the book of the prophet Isaiah: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Now in this week’s Gospel, from...

Penzey's Spices, the Milwaukee-based company that held "Republicans are Racist Weekend" sale on Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend earlier this month, is now dealing with a massive loss of customers and is now all but begging for new business. "After starting the year with All Republicans are Republicans and following up with Republicans are Racists we’ve set a nice little Boycott Penzeys! surge in motion," Penzey's CEO Bill Penzey said in an email to customers Friday. "It certainly wasn’t unexpected, but if it’s within your means, you picking up a small stack of Gift Cards would help." Penzey admitted that...

Sarah was in the fertilized egg business. She had several hundred young pullets (a young hen) and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. She kept records and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so she bought some tiny bells and attached them to her roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so she could tell from a distance which rooster was performing. Now, she could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Sarah's favorite rooster, old Butch, was a...

The AR-15-style rifle that Kyle Rittenhouse used to shoot three people during a 2020 street protest will be destroyed by the state of Wisconsin and not returned. The agreement, made among prosecutors, Rittenhouse and Dominick Black — the man who purchased the rifle — was announced Friday morning in court.
