In a bizarre Fox News segment, Tucker Carlson accused the nation's first couple of being frauds. Carlson claimed that the Bidens' 44-year marriage was a "slick PR campaign." He also mocked coverage of their public displays of affection. The Fox News host Tucker Carlson in an extended bit during his show on Tuesday night baselessly claimed that President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden's marriage was merely a public-relations stunt. "The Bidens' affection is totally real. It's in no way part of a slick PR campaign devised by cynical consultants determined to hide the president's senility by misdirection," Carlson...

Establishment Republican Jen Kiggans is campaigning for Congress on parental rights in education after voting with Democrats to cause Virginia’s school crisis in the first place, forcing districts to open girls’ restrooms up to men and adopt “trans-affirming” policies under the Virginia Values Act. In an email sent to voters, Jen Kiggans, a State Senator running for the GOP’s 2nd District nomination Congress, paints her campaign in the light of Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin, who topped off a GOP sweep in a cycle largely focused on the left’s domination of public schools. The issue came to a head in Loudoun County,...

Imagine if the tables had been turned on all the most divisive issues we've suffered from the last couple of years. Counterfactuals, like "conspiracy theories," are frowned upon by those who look guilty when they are posed. Here are three to chew on during the holidays: (1) What if it turns out that the gene therapies marketed as "vaccines" by pharmaceutical companies end up causing more harm than good? What if it becomes obvious that more children die from government-ordered injections than would have ever succumbed to the virus itself? What if the long-term effects of any of these experimental...

In November of last year I wrote about the phenomenon Democrats have been pushing for decades – that the “less white” this country becomes, the better it is for them; that at a certain point, and soon, the Republican Party would be relegated to the fringe of society. “Demographics are destiny,” they insist. It’s a nice, neat theory that just so happens to dovetail perfectly with the racial politics the left have been playing the whole time. But a funny thing happened on the way to permanent power… For Democrats, this argument, and the hope that it was true, hinged...

Like many people my age (62), I was taught both at home and in school that Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a great president. FDR, I was taught, saved American democracy in the 1930s with the New Deal and led the nation to victory against Hitlerism in the 1940s. That view of FDR was reinforced by many television documentaries and history books. And virtually every poll of historians — including the most recent C-Span poll — places FDR in the top five of all U.S. presidents (usually in third place behind Lincoln and Washington). This is so despite persuasive revisionist historical...

I love the smell of Joe Manchin in the morning … it smells like … victory. If you survey the charred ruins of the progressives' hopes and dreams, you will need to have a heart of stone not to burst into hysterical laughter at their pain. They were so close, so very close, and their heart's desire was ripped from them by a senator from a sane state who had zero desire to commit ritual, political suicide to please the brother-curious likes of Ilhan Omar. Cue the gif of a team of Joes carrying a coffin to that catchy EDM...

At Mosaic Preparatory Academy in Harlem, New York, reading, writing and arithmetic are not the only subjects on the curriculum — so is being nice.... ...When 5-year-old King Ortiz was pulled out of class one day, he knew he'd earned something special — coupons for nice behavior that can be redeemed for tokens. "I learned to be nice," King said. Twenty-five coupons score students a shiny token for the vending machine. Tokens go in, but no chips or candy come out — only books drop....

California’s state lawmakers recently failed to pass bail reform legislation, creating a case study in how fundamentally poor public policy will self-destruct if it’s exposed for what it is. On the face of it, there is a logic to the continuing argument that cash-based bail is unfair to people who have little or no money. But that simplistic premise is deeply flawed and has led to a huge increase in violent crime in California, as well as in other places that implemented the policy. Unfortunately, the grim repercussions are not just statistical. There is a human face to criminal justice...

In the early days of the vaccines, many of us, myself included, had high hopes that COVID would be a distant memory by now. We took President Joe Biden at his word last April when he promised the nation, “Getting together with friends, going to the park for a picnic without needing to mask up, we’re back to that place now as long as you get vaccinated.” Instead we see New York, among the most vaccinated states with 95 percent of adults receiving at least one dose and 84 percent of adults fully vaccinated, locking down yet again, Broadway shows...

The Taliban want to use the flights to send their own people abroad to earn desperately needed money. The Afghan economy is in tatters. The Taliban have halted all flights of Afghan evacuees for the past two weeks in a dispute about how the airport in Kabul is run and who is allowed on the evacuation flights, according to a congressional source, two refugee advocates and a source familiar with the matter. A State Department official involved in relocation efforts confirmed that flights have stopped.... ...The Taliban’s argument is that they run the country and that it is their airspace...

The recent world spike in Covid-19 prompted the NHL on Wednesday to back out the Beijing Olympics, removing the world's best hockey players from the one of the Games' showcase sports. The National Hockey League had built in a Feb. 6-22 break from action to send its top players to Beijing, but Covid outbreaks throughout North America have put the sport on hold. Fifty NHL games have already been postponed and Commissioner Gary Bettman said sending players to Beijing "is no longer feasible."... ...“Certainly, the players and hockey fans are quite disappointed," he continued. "But playing a full 82-game season...

What the local sheriff called a "major industrial accident" led to a huge fire early Thursday at an ExxonMobil refinery in Baytown, Texas, near Houston. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted that "initial reports indicated some type of explosion occurred inside the plant." He said there were apparently four people injured. Three were airlifted out and one was removed by ambulance. Gonzalez said there didn't appear to be any need for anyone to evacuate or shelter-in-place. ExxonMobil said in a statement that its "fire teams are working to extinguish the fire" and it was trying to account for everyone who...

A potential vaccine that would prevent the most deadly and aggressive type of breast cancer — triple-negative breast cancer — is undergoing testing. The key protein for the vaccine, which would be a "holy grail" of cancer treatment, was found through "a matter of luck and tenacity in going through databases and looking for proteins," Dr. Vincent Tuohy said, almost like finding a needle in a haystack. The vaccine works by jumpstarting the immune system and attacking any tumors that contain a specific protein that should not be present unless a woman is lactating. "Once we've established that we can...
