California Gov. Gavin Newsom thrilled many this weekend by saying that his administration will model a new law on the Texas abortion ban, letting private citizens sue anyone who makes or sells assault weapons or ghost guns. It won't work. Legally, that is. It will be hugely successful politically, but not without costs to the state and potential litigants. Newsom denounced the Supreme Court in Women's Health v. Jackson for refusing to enjoin the Texas law that allows people to sue anyone who "aids or abets" an abortion performed after about six weeks. That led to widespread calls for the...

Former Gov. Chris Christie (R) said that the events leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol were "driven from the top" and executed by "C-team players" around then-President Trump. Christie said it was "C-team players" who told Trump what "he wanted to hear" during his last few months in office, during an interview Sunday on ABC News's "This Week" with host George Stephanopoulos. Christie added "you got a bunch of people around him by the time we got to the end, with very few exceptions, that were C-team players, at best, on their best day."

We definitely need to get tougher on sentencing looters and store robbers, but we should exempt those criminals from prison time if they loot one of the big corporations that helped spawn this epidemic of shoplifting to begin with. Last week, the Retail Industry Leaders Association, representing 20 major retailers, sent a letter to Congress asking legislators to deal with the growing theft, shoplifting, and “smash-and-grab” mob attacks on retail stores. The corporations represented include giants like Target, Best Buy, Nordstrom, Home Depot, and CVS. "As millions of Americans have undoubtedly seen on the news in recent weeks and months,...

Hydrogen loaded metallic structures can play here a crucial role for the advantageous conditions in which the energy can be easily produced at room temperature during nuclear fusion. At very low energies, the electron screening effect causes an exponential like enhancement of the nuclear reaction cross...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The head of a Senate panel that oversees Medicare says the Biden administration should use its legal authority to cut back a hefty premium increase soon hitting millions of enrollees, as a growing number of Democratic lawmakers call for action amid worries over rising inflation. Last month, Medicare announced one of the largest increases ever in its “Part B” monthly premium for outpatient care, nearly $22, from $148.50 currently to $170.10 starting in January. The agency attributed roughly half the hike, about $11 a month, to the need for a contingency fund to cover Aduhelm, a new...

Beloved, I love Christmas and all the wondrous Bible verses of hope! Just before the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ despair was an epidemic and hopelessness super abounding! For those who trusted in the Lord in such oppressive days, their hope was a burning fire within their hearts that kept them fresh and vibrate! Anna and Simeon and the Wise men of old were great witnesses of hope in such dark days (Matt. 2:12; Luke 2:25-40)! Anna and Simeon and the Wise men of old were great witnesses of hope in such dark days! Today is no different! Our...

Americans' fear about the spread of COVID-19 is on the rise amid the spread of the omicron variant, a new poll showed. The poll, conducted by The Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, found that 36 percent of Americans said they were very or extremely worried that they or a family member would contract the virus, up from 25 percent in late October. Despite the uptick in concerns, fewer Americans said they were regularly wearing masks or isolating compared the beginning of the year, according to the survey.

MEMORIAL OF SAINT LUCY, VIRGIN AND MARTYR MATTHEW 21:23-27 Friends, in today’s Gospel, the chief priests and elders question Jesus: "By what authority are you doing these things? And who gave you this authority?" The Greek word used for "authority" is most enlightening: exousia. It means, literally, "from the being of." Jesus speaks with the very exousia of God, and therefore, his words effect what they say. He says, "Lazarus, come out!" (John 11:43), and the dead man comes out of the tomb. He rebukes the wind and says to the sea, "Be still!" (Mark 4:39), and there is calm....

Britain’s Health Secretary Sajid Javid has revealed that the double-vaccinated will no longer be entitled to Covid passes “once all adults have had a reasonable chance to get their booster jab”. Without parliamentary intervention, the Boris Johnson administration will soon require people in England to show a negative lateral flow test in order to enter nightclubs and, with a Covid pass exemption for those who have been vaccinated not just once, but twice. However, even the double-vaccinated will soon lose this exemption, Javid told the House of Commons on Monday, with the double-vaccinated being treated the same as the wholly...

The analysis exposed the inherently gimmicky nature of using permanent tax increases to pass temporary increases in spending. In the second installment of news the Biden administration didn’t want to hear about Friday (the first being the record-breaking inflation report), the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released an analysis of making permanent the programs in Democrats’ Build Back Bankrupt spending spree. Democrats immediately claimed the bill they want to pass through Congress doesn’t resemble the CBO’s parameters in the slightest. In that case, Republicans should respond by bringing a legislative proposal resembling those parameters to the Senate floor, and forcing Democrats to...

Vice President Kamala Harris promoted government spending on charging stations for electric vehicles on Monday, demonstrating the use of a car charger herself. The vice president visited a car charging maintenance facility in Prince George’s County, Maryland outside of Washington, DC, to promote the use of electric vehicles. During her visit, she asked if she could plug in one of the electric cars to see how it worked. After plugging it in, she commented on the difference between an electric charger and a gas pump. “There’s no sound or fume,” she said, standing by the car holding the plug into...

Nobody in America thinks the Biden clown show is funny. Nobody’s laughing. The numbers for Joe Biden in a recent Wall Street Journal poll are devastating. Only 27 percent of America believe the Biden regime is on the right track. However, a massive 63% of Americans believe the Biden sham administration is on the wrong track. It’s really no surprise this is the case with the clowns Biden/Obama picked for this administration, a bunch of Obama flunkies who didn’t know what was going on under Obama as well. After stealing the 2020 Election, the reputation and approval of this corrupt...

"... This is a bright 3.5 inch LCD display that's high resolution. It charges with the USBc. It connects with your TV with a dock over HDMI and it plays a bunch of games, but specifically Game Boy games, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and with adapters Sega Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, and Atari Lynx. It doesn't play DS games, just letting you know. ...it's really fun to revisit and if you're a collector and you love the idea of getting these games I don't think there is a nicer dedicated piece of hardware right now that can...
